“Located on the Bay Street Plaza in Emeryville, on the second floor next to Barnes and Nobles. Saucy Asian is a Korean fusion restaurant. It’s a trendy place and is pretty busy all the way to closing time. We came in today after shopping at the new Tokyo Central across the street for a late dinner. We ordered at 7:58pm and did not receive our food until 8:26pm which was quite long wait for what we ordered. There is some indoor seating as well as outdoor seating.

As for food we ordered:
- Saucy Asian Bowl
- Saucy Asian Fries
- Island Style Poke Bowl (combo: half tuna/half Salmon)

All the food were good, have no complaints, but have had better elsewhere. Overall, if we’re in the mood for their food, we would come back.“

“Great experience at MUMU Hot Pot in Emeryville! The quality of the meat was excellent—very fresh, nicely marbled, and perfect for hot pot and grilling. The broth was flavorful, and the dipping sauces were well-balanced. Service was friendly and attentive, and the overall atmosphere was clean and comfortable. “Such great food and people. We were hungry driving around looking for that magical parking spot next to an acceptable eating spot bingo! We found it all at Gai. Unsure of what kinda of cuisine I said take the chance they’ve got a chicken on the sign so it’s actually food. And boy was it good. Delicious. Freshly prepared Asian Thai or Vietnamese food. I got the Original Chicken Rice bowl with side of broccali. My friend got the salad with Tofu. Both great. He sauces are fresh and flavorful. One is quite hot which I love. I recommend it. And as we sat there from 1:30 pm to 2:30, there were multiple to go orders being picked up. I think there were about 5 orders at a time rotating. Fresh Fast Full of Flavor. We hit the jackpot!“

“We’ve come here a number of times and every time the service has been very good! Always attentive without being hovering. They’re quick with our food and it’s been served hot. The noodles have been fresh and the broth rich!

“Wonderful restaurant with many delicious options buffet style (shrimp salad and fried pork are especially good). Sadly it has been hounded by building management (which has unsuccessfully sued them multiple times to try to break the lease and redevelop the arcade) so it is great to support them.“

“Tigon is excellent, above par, a hidden gem on San Pablo. I've probably been here 5-6 times now with my fiance. She gets the same thing every time: Catfish Sweet and Sour Soup and she swears it gets better every single time. On the other hand, I try something new every time because each dish I've had has been better than the last. Catfish Claypot, Pho, and Papaya Salad are all big hitters.“

If this was a kitchen error I'll try them again, if not, then I thought they were bland, although the vegan option is 100% appreciated.“

“Truly excellent food. Innovative (and dare I say, elevated) takes on traditional Cantonese and Taiwanese dishes. We particularly enjoyed the confit cabbage, honey walnut shrimp toast, turnip cake salad, and especially the porridge. The porridge was a concentrated blast of umami, unexpected but welcome. I hope they succeed and become an SF/Mission mainstay.

“My friend and I came here and ate at the counter downstairs. I really enjoyed the Filipino fusion plate we got. It was delicious and tasted like I was at my auntie’s house, but with an elevated twist.

We then took our drinks and went upstairs. We played games that were available and then listened to folks sing karaoke. We works up the nerve to sing ourselves.

It looked like there was an extra room for private parties.

“While they're known for their matcha smoothies, they also have some great food options such as their pork belly rice and their croffle sandwiches.

Note that the food can take a while to make as most people order drinks, but it is prepared with much care.

There are a few dining tables inside, but there are also picnic benches outside. Ordering is done on a kiosk and they provide trays for the compostable tableware.“

But what impressed me even more than the food tonight was the thoughtfulness of the gentleman working. They closed at 11:30 pm (bless them for being the only vegan, organic food in the area open that late) and was cutting it close to get there before closing time. When I arrived 1 or 2 minutes after 11:30, I was worried that I had missed my opportunity and screwed up, but no - a thoughtful young man was literally standing in front of the restaurant with my order, waiting for me. He definitely didn’t have to do that - service is way above and beyond - 20/10! That wonderful young man saved me after I hadn’t eaten all day and couldn’t find anything vegan open late, I’m so grateful. <3

“The char siu pork is incredibly tender. The cold noodles with peanut sauce and chili oil had plenty of sauce and were perfectly cooked. The bbq brisket noodles with soup was delicious, the broth was amazing and the meat and noodles were also cooked perfectly. The staff was working tirelessly and were very accommodating. “The decor was festive and abundant in the best way possible, and the cocktails looked unique and curiosity-piquing. I narrowed my choices down to a Cafe Sua Daddy and the Soy Sauce Old Fashioned.

I love a savory drink and the sweet caffeinated espresso martini-esque drink had a thick blanket of just-salty-enough foam reminiscent of the salt cream that tops a boba drink. The Soy Sauce Old Fashioned catapulted me back to my childhood, eating slabs of tofu drenched in shoyu at my grandma's house. I loved the custom soy bottle presentation, it was just strong enough to tolerate being poured over a large rock while maintaining its flavor.

My partner had the Umami Tots and Mapo Tofu. I couldn't resist the siren song of some crispy potatoes dunked in chili oil cream, but managed to hold myself back on the tofu- even though it smelled amazing.

Can't wait to return and try the new seasonal drinks, along with more snacks.“

The portion is very generous, the standard serving already included cheese, rice cake, glass noodles, and plenty of radish-carrots-potatoes! I came in Dec 26th the day after Christmas to see Chef Lee standing in the middle of the kitchen during service in admiration of his dedication and the dishes that were presented were exactly what I think fine dining, Michelin starred restaurants, and farm to table restaurants should represent. Taking classic Asian flavors and dishes from many different countries while using the finest produce to make dishes that set a new reference point. Some dishes were so familiar to me, the cod reminded me of my Vietnamese mom's catfish that I grew up eating, and other dishes while not nostalgic had clear intent to paint a picture through immaculate flavors and presentation. The only thing that keeps me from giving them a 5 is the prices. Don't get me wrong about the inflation issue, but like some of the prices are unreasonable. They should lower it.
