“I have to share how great Judith, the manager, was today. I messed up my to-go order and put two chicken tenders instead of chicken tenders and chips. She not only not charged me for the chips after explaining the situation but gave me quite a large portion. I know chips are cheap but this small painless interaction was just so appreciated. I’ll go out of my way to come back here“

“The food was very good. I dined solo and had chicken liver mousse, the yellowtail crudo, the peach and tomato burrata salad, and the crab cake. The mousse was rich and interestingly paired with pickled blackberries and honeycomb. The crudo was delicious with the refreshing citrus. The salad too felt very fresh and like I was holding on to late summer. The crab cake was good, the sauce had a nice balance of spice and sweetness, it was very salty which is not unexpected with crab. The service was kind and attentive. I was very pleased with my experience and would return again if I'm back in Santa Monica.“

“We had a very nice dinner here inside on a Tuesday night. I loved the whiskey cocktail which is brought smoking to your table. We shared the cheese plate and gen ceasar and the servings are quite large and perfect for sharing. The BBQ scottish salmon is a real standout and the fries and blistered spinach great sides. They also have a very nice selection of wines by the glass. The staff is very attentive and we enjoyed the night thoroughly.“

The waitress took so long to come back and check on us after our food arrived by time she came back my friend already finished his meal. They need to revamp the menu and get a better chef. “Our party of four regularly treats ourselves to great meals, so we came to Somni with very high expectations—and somehow, they still managed to exceed them.

Every course was exceptional. I genuinely couldn’t fault a single dish. But what stood out just as much was the service and attention to detail. The team anticipated so many little things before we even had to ask: helping us identify the background music when we were curious, explaining the beautiful water carafe, having fresh napkins ready when we returned from the restroom, and countless other small touches throughout the evening.

One of my friends wasn’t particularly enjoying one of the wine pairings because it wasn’t quite their usual style. The sommelier noticed without us saying anything and proactively brought out a substitute sake instead. It turned out to be one of the best sakes I’ve ever had.

The food, wine pairing, non-alcoholic pairing, and the beautiful space were all outstanding. But more than anything, it was the level of attentiveness and genuine hospitality that made the evening so memorable.

Somni truly sets an incredibly high bar for what a three-Michelin-star restaurant can be.

For me, the evening was extra special as I was celebrating my “birth-month.” The team went above and beyond to make me feel celebrated, including a thoughtful gift, but what I appreciated most was the genuine thoughtfulness and attention throughout the entire experience.

The bar has been set very high from here. I have a feeling many future dining experiences will inevitably be compared to this one.

“My husband and I usually go during happy hour for their poke nachos and crispy brussel sprouts but have tried a few other things. Everything we've tried has been delicious but occasionally varies in preparation quality. We went on March 18th and ordered the poke nachos but they were not as good. The portion was a lot smaller than usual, so we decided to order another one. The second one came out great (I included a picture of the one prepared correctly) and that's when we realized they left off ingredients from the first one sent. They were still good but it was interesting that the two plates were that different. We didn't mention this to our waiter and I'm sure they would have been accommodating but maybe plates should be checked for quality before they're delivered?

Another note, we usually sit at the bar but we got a table the last time since the bar was packed. We were obviously fine with this but the cleanliness was extremely lacking. The menus had food on them and greasy fingerprints. I'm also not sure why the booths are never wiped down?? The tables are cleaned but the food just lands on the seats. Then you're wondering what else isn't cleaned, look around, and notice all the other spots that aren't wiped down. So gross.“

“the size of a 4 top table in a booth being far too cramped for 3 men and a lady, the experience at Black Market was, again, top-notch. Lauren, the manager and many hat wearing server, took exceptional care of our table. Food was fired in the right order. We had courses come out at just the right times and great suggestions from the staff. The Korean bbq wings, the cauliflower, burrata with peaches, and the bolognese were perfectly cooked and delicious. Drinks are also fantastic - I had a classic Negroni. We'll be back .“

“How does Father‘s Office only get 4.3 stars? This is my dream bar (not that I dream about bars): warm, intimate, unpretentious, truly awesome food offerings, and then of course there is the beer. In LA, for beer, there is no peer.

“Thank you so much farmshop!!! Please know your kindness meant a lot to all of us after the palisades fire. We we're waiting in line to receive an escort back into the Pacific palisades following the fire! This line was at least 300 cars long. People had been waiting in it since early yesterday, desperately hoping to see if they still had a home following the mandatory evacuation. There was a lot of collective heartache going around, but also two gentleman from Farmshop, carrying baskets full of banana bread. They stopped by every car, giving each occupant a hearty slice of freshly baked banana bread. My family just inhaled this stuff! Taking a bite, all of us commented how much it tasted like the banana bread grandma use to make. I don't know if you were using the same recipe or you both baked that bread with love, but talk about soul food! It didn't just feed our bellies, it fed our hearts. A person doesn't easily forget the grace and goodness they're given when engulfed in grief, and Ill never forget the first time i took a bite of Farmshop's banana bread!!! Thank you! Thank you!
