New American Restaurants near Northridge, CA

“My husband and I usually go during happy hour for their poke nachos and crispy brussel sprouts but have tried a few other things. Everything we've tried has been delicious but occasionally varies in preparation quality. We went on March 18th and ordered the poke nachos but they were not as good. The portion was a lot smaller than usual, so we decided to order another one. The second one came out great (I included a picture of the one prepared correctly) and that's when we realized they left off ingredients from the first one sent. They were still good but it was interesting that the two plates were that different. We didn't mention this to our waiter and I'm sure they would have been accommodating but maybe plates should be checked for quality before they're delivered?

Another note, we usually sit at the bar but we got a table the last time since the bar was packed. We were obviously fine with this but the cleanliness was extremely lacking. The menus had food on them and greasy fingerprints. I'm also not sure why the booths are never wiped down?? The tables are cleaned but the food just lands on the seats. Then you're wondering what else isn't cleaned, look around, and notice all the other spots that aren't wiped down. So gross.“

“We went to Black Angus with our family to say bye to my college bound granddaughter. The service was great and the food was very good. Prices are very fair for a steakhouse. It's a bit of a drive for me but I think it's worth it!!“

“the size of a 4 top table in a booth being far too cramped for 3 men and a lady, the experience at Black Market was, again, top-notch. Lauren, the manager and many hat wearing server, took exceptional care of our table. Food was fired in the right order. We had courses come out at just the right times and great suggestions from the staff. The Korean bbq wings, the cauliflower, burrata with peaches, and the bolognese were perfectly cooked and delicious. Drinks are also fantastic - I had a classic Negroni. We'll be back .“

“The bar at the Valley Inn is perhaps one of the best kept secrets in LA. Yes, it’s tiny but get there early, secure your seat and you’re in for a ride of the greatest cocktails served up by a ladies and gentlemen’s gentleman - the maker with the shaker, Bill. Seriously, make a friend of this guy and then introduce him and the bar to your favorite people - only your favorite people! The food in the restaurant is great but a tad expensive but the bar will become your new happy place. Bravo“

“Stayed here for a few days. Restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner. No food between 10-4pm if you’re in the hotel. Their little market does have food to go options.

Breakfast opens at 6am. Sadly, you can’t pre-order. I ordered for delivery one more and then pickup the next. If you order online, make sure to pay attention if you pick room service or pickup.

Had dinner a few times. They have grilled octopus. The one that I got was a tad salty and lemony. I’m not keen on lemon on my seafood. It was tender. So if you don’t mind it, then you’ll be ok. Otherwise, let them know to go easy on the lemon and salt. Also ordered fish tacos, chicken wings and truffle Parmesan fries. Out of all of them, I’d say truffle Parmesan was the best.

“I've only eaten here a couple times and the experience at this location is far better than the one closest to me. It's always clean, the customer service is so great and friendly. Each sandwich I've tried is so fresh, do yourself a favor and get the Cranberry Brie. Then top it off with one of their cookies, I get an assortment since I can't choose a favorite since they're all so darn good. Great vibe at this store, keep it up!“

“I have to share how great Judith, the manager, was today. I messed up my to-go order and put two chicken tenders instead of chicken tenders and chips. She not only not charged me for the chips after explaining the situation but gave me quite a large portion. I know chips are cheap but this small painless interaction was just so appreciated. “First time trying Finney's Crafthouse and it was a very busy place on a Sunday afternoon. I ordered the Pastrami Reuben Sandwich with an order of tartar tots. I ordered the sandwich without the kraut and it was really good. The order of tartar tots took a bit of time to get to the table so I thought that they would be hot. Unfortunately, the tarter tots were lukewarm at best and I didn't finish them. The wait staff apologized for the error and did take them off my final bill. She said that she let the Manager know but they never stopped by the table.“

It's right on Ventura with a nice outdoor patio space, so it's great for a bit of people watching (or perhaps more like car watching at times)!

They're usually playing sports on the tv's inside when we go, but we usually just chill on the outdoor space.

Service has always been super friendly and good about making sure you're taken care of and giving you refills/anything else you may need.

For the food - last time I went, I got one of the salads (trying to be a little bit healthier haha)!
It was HUGE, super fresh, and packed FULL of flavor from all the delicious toppings. The perfect mix of textures with some crunchiness.
There's plenty of other menu items as well - we've had items like the burgers, brick oven pizzas, and ceviche in the past.
All are very generously portioned, packed with high quality ingredients, and super tasty/satisfying to enjoy!

Oh yeah, and if you drink...the cocktails here are tasty and STRONG!
I had one and was feeling QUITE tipsy!!

“Somewhat bland space even with its renovation, but pleasant wait staff and interesting menu. Fried dill pickles! Enjoyed the spinach and cheese bourka, one large one with everything bagel sprinkled on top with a tomato and a touch of greens to decorate the plate, and shared the vegetable gratin with mozzarella and tomato sauce and squash (amazingly not mushy) and eggplant. Attractive and tasty.“
