“My lovely wife took me here for my birthday and I was pretty amazed by the whole experience. Firstly, parking is valet only, originally $28 dollars but with validation from the restaurant, you get $10 off. You can pay via the link which has a fee or you can pay in cash by the register out front of the hotel with no fee.

The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. It's designated within the high class hotel of The Langham Hotel with a loungelike setting & a garden view for some seats. The ambiance is stunning, very minimal lighting but uses the natural lighting by the window to create that romantic vibe. Absolutely stunning. Not to mention that the restaurant is very clean and tidy. We were seated on the aisle near the window and it was right before sunset which gave that romantic vibe. It was very green and clear out the window, loved the scenes overall.

Service was great for the entire dine in experience. Staff checked on our table many times to refill waters, check on food, etc. Very delighted with the experience as a whole.

Food was fantastic as well, we decided on 4 dishes, all came out within a decent time frame, incredible pacing by the staff and kitchen.

Very happy with this choice of steak. Each bite was filled with flavor. Not too fatty and it's chewy but not to the point where you have to chew for a long time. It was perfectly cooked as well. Highly recommend.

STAR OF THE SHOW! I've had my fair share of salmon in my life and I was very surprised by the way this was cooked. Each bite with the salmon skin was super crunchy on the outside and soft on the side. It's very well cooked and it wasn't salty at all. Very happy with this choice as it was presented very elegantly. Never thought I would dip hummus with salmon but the condiment works! Highly recommend.

-- Loaded Baked Potato ($18) --
Presented as a open crested potato, I was very surprised by this baked potato. It maybe a basic potato dish but don't let it catch you off guard. The wall of the potato is very tasty. As a whole, it's filled wtih bacon crumbs and cheese fondue. Very delicious and pretty similar to mash potatoes. Loved it as a compliment to the rest of the dishes we ordered. Highly recommend.

-- Five Cheese Mac & Cheese ($16) --
If it weren't for the salmon dish, this would of been the star of the meal. Very crispy and not too salty. Loved the dynamic of the cheese melt with the macaroni. Very fulfilling and a great dish to share. Highly recommend.

To conclude the meal, staff prepared a peach brulee type dessert and was presented very nicely with a candle and a HBD message on the bottom. Very delicious for a small dessert. Overall a nice gesture made and even though it was $5 charge, it was definitely worth the experience.

Overall, a wonderful experience. Excellent choice that my wife picked and certainly a restaurant that's on our list to revisit again in the future. Absolutely loved every part of the meal and definitely made my birthday a very special one.“

Ruth’s three-course meal did not disappoint! The 6 oz. Filet Mignon, ordered medium-rare, was excellent and cooked perfectly as requested. The Steak House Salad and mashed potatoes were outstanding choices and complemented the meal beautifully. To top it all off, the Classic Cheesecake was the perfect ending to a fantastic Friday evening dinner.
I will definitely be back!

“This review is for dining on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at LA Prime Steakhouse at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles, CA. I apologize in advance for this lengthy review. 😊 Overall, our party of 4 had a very enjoyable evening. We arrived about 15 minutes before our 6pm reservations and had our pick for a table right by the windows facing North. The sky was clear, the view of the city below us and the mountains in the distance was great. The service was excellent from our servers Mark & Maria (aka M&M as they mentioned and made it very easy to remember their names 😊). Both were very friendly and attentive. The pace for our evening was exceptional. We did not feel rushed, were given ample time to browse the menu, enjoy our drinks and starters before the entrees were brought out. Mark or Maria would periodically come by to ask how our meal was, if we wanted another drink, whether we needed anything else and with the refills of water and coffee. Now, as for the food, I will say it was “good”, but not exceptional or 5 stars. Starters: Wagyu Carpaccio, Oysters Rockefeller & 2 orders Escargot – I ordered the Oysters Rockefeller. They were about medium sized oysters and somewhat tasty. I was disappointed that they oysters were not released from the shell before cooking, making it difficult and messy to scrape out of the shell or to use a knife to release the oyster. Others that tried the oysters had the same issue. I tried one escargot and found the size to be pretty small. They definitely needed more garlic, more butter and some parsley or herbs. Others felt the same. One of the best parts I enjoy with escargot is using the bread to dip into the garlic butter sauce. YUM. Entrees: 2 Prime Rib entrees (1 medium rare & 1 end cut). Good portions as menu states 18 oz., tender, good marbling, looked delicious. I had the end cut expecting bold flavors from the seasoning, but found it lacking in flavor. The horseradish and au jus helped a little. The Yorkshire Pudding was a bit strange. It was not at all what I was expecting. I’m accustomed to something like a mini Dutch baby pancake or it being light and airy with a big puff crown top, like I would get at Lawry’s or Tam O’Shanter. What we got was somewhat dense, maybe collapsed, muffin shaped and something I would not have guessed as a Yorkshire Pudding by the looks or taste of it. Party also ordered the Lobster Thermidor and the Filet Mignon with Lobster Tail. Filet was cooked nicely and was tender. The Lobster Thermidor and Lobster Tail was not tender, somewhat dry and a bit chewy. I’m not sure if it was the quality or maybe being overcooked. They did not enjoy these entrees. Sides: Asparagus Spears with Hollandaise Sauce were nicely cooked. Sauteed Mushroom Ragout – I think this was mostly chanterelle mushrooms. Do not recall any shitake or button mushrooms. I did not care for this. Creamed Spinach looked good, but I did not try this. After dinner, we looked at the city lights from our window table and enjoyed the delicious Starbucks coffee they served. We didn’t leave any room for desserts. SUMMARY: Ambiance & View – 5 out of 5 Stars Service – 5 out of 5 Stars Food – 4 out of 5 Stars Great place to try at least once. Food may be a bit overpriced and overall under seasoned. Service was excellent. You’re mainly paying for the view and experience. Our party had a great time and wonderful evening there. Would I go again anytime soon… probably not. There are too many restaurants in the city to try and there are always new ones popping up.“

“I used to come here about once a month for the fine food and fancy atmosphere. I used to love the steaks and salads and the several rooms with tables. It was a well known place all my life living up here in the foothills. But alas, good things never last. I went to eat a nice meal with my elderly mom and I ordered my usual even though they had changed the rules so you have to order each thing separately I didn't care about that nor the higher prices. I waa just looking forward to a decent streak and veggies. Well when my steak was brought to the table with the vegetables.I noticed that not only was the steak full of so much fat.I could hardly get any meat but the vegetables were cold and after maybe five ten minutes, the waiter came back and I told him, please take this back to the chef and show him the amount of fat that is on this steak.I hardly got any meat at all.And the vegetables were cold when I got them. He came back from the chef and said, well, he's gonna comp.The vegetables, but you're gonna have to pay for your steak. I was furious that they would serve a poor quality of steak and charge a price as if were high quality. I literally had to fight the gristle to get a few measly pieces of steak. It wasn't the money. I was angry that the quality of the meat is was so bad at one of my regular steak places. It made me so mad I stopped going there completely. I wish it were how it was before and am still agonizing over it. Just wanted to vent as the owner hopefully will read this and I beseech him to reach out and prove to me things have turned around. I miss the food and the nice rich atmosphere. If not I guess I will continue my trips to fogo de chat or the Smokehouse or Damon's.“

“First week of February my long long time friend Scott brought me to Black Angus for my birthday meal, meal was not up to par, so I informed corporate they informed Ronnie the manager, Ronnie called me and invited us back for a redo, Scott and I came back exactly one week later on a Sunday and Ronnie made sure and the rest of the workers the meal was perfect in fact Scott even ordered steak and lobster and I've never seen somebody enjoy meals much as he did this one and he and I have had hundreds of dinners together, he complimented Ronnie and the workers, Black Angus comped the meal, out in the parking lot I had a strange sense and he was peculiar that day more friendly and more like a kid, he took some pictures of an unusual vehicle in the parking lot it was about 8:30 in the evening, and for some reason I gave him a hug and literally watched him drive away, get on the freeway right there and I had a sad sense. Scott passed away the next morning during an activity, he was only 57 extremely active and healthy it seemed, so basically Black Angus gave this man his last meal and he was a prominent real estate agent and popular, so thank you guys for doing that, my point is at any given time anybody could be getting their last meal, in this particular case your restaurant supplied it, it is important that every meal be prepared for everybody as if it were there last meal! Bartendars while we waited for our table were great and drinks were on point. Would have rated them a 5 all around if service was just a bit more attentive.“
