“Anchored in the bay, all the way from Puget sound and a dinghy ride in for food. Walked around and quickly realized this was the busiest spot in town. Cold beverages outside made the wait alright. The "award winning" fish and chips were great! Calamari too. Great food, generous portions & good view of our boats. Staff was fun too. Cheers!“

“Really fantastic gelato. There was a well-deserved line around the building and the guys working handled the rush wonderfully. Gelato worth the drive from SF, and the owner is lovely. I had espresso and chocolate. My husband had pistachio and ginger cookie (speculoos). The pistachio was in the top 3 of pistachio flavored things I have ever tasted. Bravo on the flavors. I had met Angela, the owner during a recent trip to HMB as she was setting up. We drove over last Saturday to celebrate a birthday. From the minute we walked in, we were taken in by the lovely, homey, cozy, eclectic decor. There were six of us and we were personally welcomed by Angela. We were so overwhelmed by the attention to detail, a special platter for the birthday girl, the fact you can order the sandwiches you like, the tea you like, the fact that they bake during the day to ensure freshness, there is a salad included, fresh fruit, you get a full sandwich, not a little square. You can order extra sandwiches at a minimal fee. Everything is home made. We were delighted with our selections. Their egg salad is the best I have ever tasted and the following day I was craving it!! Angela visited our table quite a few times and told us her story. We all had questions about how she purchased decor items. Since we had the 2:00 seating, we were able to visit a little longer. Not like other places where they literally ask you to leave. We all absolutely RAVED about everything. Very reasonably priced as well. After we left, we all headed down to the beach to watch the sunset!! The perfect end to the perfect day. You WILL not be disappointed!!! It's quite a gem!!“

“This took me far too long to write, but I wanted to find the right words to say. My husband and I had been waiting two long years to get married. We postponed twice because of the pandemic and in the course of that time changed our venue to San Benito House. Let me tell you, that was the BEST decision we ever made. Not only is the venue itself incredibly beautiful and the food so delicious, but Kai and his staff bent over backwards for us and all of our guests. Kai is the ultimate hype guy and he took what normally would have been a stressful event to plan, and made it so easy and fun. I would (and will) recommend that anyone who is wanting a Half Moon Bay wedding, that this is the ultimate place to go. Our guests are still talking about the day and if we could, we’d do it 1000 times over just to experience the magic again. Thank you, thank you, thank you! To Kai and the incredible staff, you are truly THE BEST.“

“I had an exceptional dining experience at Evangelian Cuisine! The seafood was unbelievably fresh and flavorful—truly some of the best I’ve ever had. We ordered the paella and fish and chips, and both dishes were outstanding.

Our waiter, Adolfo, was fantastic. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the ingredients in the dishes we ordered and the wines they offer. He recommended the Albariño Eleusis, which turned out to be one of the best white wines I’ve ever tasted! Adolfo was polite, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal.

“I have been Jonesin for for a lobster roll. I ordered the lobster and cheese sandwich, thinking it would be a grilled cheese with a dash of lobster. Boy, was I wrong! It has a generous helping of lobster, the right amount of cheese and perfect on sourdough! This went well with a black and tan, along with some delicious cheesy tots! This is a really nice, friendly pub and I will be back!!“

“We visited Flying Fish during the Pumpkin Festival weekend. Even with the crowds and hectic parking situation, our party of 10 was seated right away. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better.

We ordered a variety of dishes — calamari, fish and chips, clam chowder (both in a bread bowl and in a regular bowl), and the seafood cioppino. Everything was delicious! My favorites were the fish and chips and the calamari. Portions were great, the food came out fresh, and the flavors were spot on.

Overall, a fantastic spot for seafood in Half Moon Bay. We’ll definitely be back!“
