“I stopped by for one of their weekend BBQ events. The food is fantastic, the setting in the huge redwoods is amazing and the building makes you feel like it's a hundred years ago. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Oh, and they had a high quality band playing outside on the deck. I'll be going back for sure!”

“Ideally I would have to say I would give Robin a 3.5 stars. Upon arriving to the restaurant, it was storming outside and there were no signs for us to find the place. When we entered, we got greeted by friendly staff members and got seated. I think what makes Robin a bit more unique compared to other omakase places is that you can choose your own price range and the chefs accommodate with what you had picked, but in my opinion I would have preferred them to give a set price to choose from. Inside of the restaurant was beautiful, I loved the interior design, but if you're looking for a quiet/intimate omakase experience this is not the place for that. Music is pretty loud and the parties around us were talking with their outside voice , which I didn't mind because like I mentioned the vibes at Robin is definitely more casual. In terms of the quality of food, I would have to say, while everything was super fresh and good, nothing stood out to me. On top of that, every omakase I've been to so far, I would have been full 80% in but we left Robin still hungry. Our total came out to be $470, and I would have expected to leave full. I wished they had taken out the potato chip nigiri and the noodle dish, because I would have preferred to receive more fish. The nigiri that was part of the courses was super small, and as I mentioned, while everything was good, I was not amazed. Still highly recommend if you've never experienced omakase before, only tip is to book at the bar seating bc you'll get the full experience that way.”

“A great experience. Possibly a victim of it's own success. Service deteriorated as the evening progressed. Staff was gracious and obliging but overwhelmed.Mostly uninformed as to the spirits. On two occasions presented with a wine menu when asking for tsipouro.Spring 2022 update: Really delightful lunch in the (recent) sidewalk annex. Staff as always very friendly and helpful. Food definitely up to scratch. One does need to anticipate visiting as reservations may be difficult to come by, but our reservation was honoured promptly. Opah!”

“An absolute favorite that I am sure to visit on every trip to the Bay. Very unique fusions of Indian and Californian flavors with something for every palate. My favorites are the sesame leaf, burrata kulcha, house salad and dry boat scallops. Also don’t sleep on the cocktails. Very nicely crafted.”

“This place was a great place for a bit of fun. I stopped in for cocktail and then ended up getting a burger from the pub . Wow . I'm speechless ?. The service is unmatched. The quality of the ingredients used was a wonderful complement for the evening. I went on a Sunday . I will returning for brunch . Just WOW . Kris made my drinks , he was attentive and consitant with the standard of excellence. Made it feel like a scene in a bond movie. Atmosphere alone is reason to visit . The price shouldn't be an issue for such an experience.”

“Delicious food but maybe not worth the price. Our appetizers came super fast but the main course took a long time and we ordered the seared halibut which isn't a dish that should take a long time. The fried flowered cauliflower was amazing, great acidity in the sauce. The kanpachi was also incredibly delicious, again amazing because of a wonderfully acidic sauce. The halibut was cooked perfectly, the peas were so fresh and felt like popping boba, and the sauce was acidic again. I'm a huge fan of the acidic sauces and did not get tired of it, but that's something to be wary of if you're not a fan.”

“We went to Sundance to celebrate my husband's birthday, and this OG place did not disappoint. The vibe was lovely. The service and timing from our waitress, Ashley G., were outstanding. Complimentary freshly baked bread. Free mud pie (ice cream cake) dessert for the birthday boy. Both of our steaks were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The veggies were still crisp, and the garlic mashed potatoes were to die for. Their Ceasar salad was perfect with crisp romaine, perfect dressing and cheese ratio, anchovies, and crunchy (not hard) croutons. Lastly, their drinks were so good we had to get another round. This place is a solid choice for a nice night out. PS: Don't forget to grab some Andes chocolate on your way out.”

“Mert was an excellent waiter! He made the experience lovely and had great recommendations for our group. The sea bass was excellent and they have a lovely selection of appetizers for a number of dietary restrictions.”

“Service was amazing! Garrett was so attentive and would bring everything we needed before we could even think of asking. Service like that is what makes the experience truly memorable. The atmosphere is good too—not too loud and beautiful decor. Ingredients were delicious, but I was not a fan of some dishes (could be personal preference). The cucumber salad seemed too acidic and the pork belly with burrata pairing didn’t go well in my opinion. But again, the quality was great and the rest is personal preference. Would be an injustice if I didn’t mention that trout was absolutely delectable! Might be the best one I’ve ever had. Also, the vanilla soft serve with cardamom crumble was a hit!”

“This place is absolutely fantastic. Definitely in my top 5 Mediterranean restaurants in the Bay. Their eggplants are awesome and their chocolate dessert is perfect. I'd take any opportunity to go there to eat”

“Good food and service overall but a few hiccups for our dinner there: only an outdoor table available (but after asking if any table would become available we got one indoor in 5 min), good-but-loud live music, and no heads up what what we ordered wasn't available anymore.”

“We had the most delicious meal last night at Protégé. Each course of the tasting menu was perfection. At the end we couldn't choose a favorite because they were all equally incredible. Our server, Fleur, was so knowledgeable about the food and the wine and gave us wonderful recommendations for the perfect wines to compliment the various courses. The whole experience was wonderful and I can't wait to go back sometime.Dietary restrictions: They made sure they were aware of all of my dietary restrictions and ensured the food I was served was safe for me to eat by making small adjustments when needed.”

“A lil pricey for a sandwich but very good stuff. Nice fresh sourdough; the bread was soft and had a nice slight crunch to it. The original (ham and turkey) was tasty and came with cheese. I saved half for the next day and it was still delicious. Somehow even better when cold. The crust sourdough dip with warm au jus (roast beef) was amazing. The roast beef was so tender! It was worth it. I also really enjoyed the bacon jam; I didn't know what to expect but I enjoyed the bit of sweetness and caramelized onions in it. Really solid! The bread also held up nicely when dipped into the au jus. The cookies are not too bad; I tried the lemon and it smelled great. Taste was good too but unfortunately it was a lemon cookie with coconut shavings inside (which was not mentioned) and I'm not the biggest fan of coconut! The interior is nice and spacious. They are located in an office space.”

“My friend and I stumbled upon Shekoh Confections purely by chance, while we were strolling the streets of Palo Alto during a business trip from Florida. We found the shop to be inviting and staff very friendly and informative. The delicacies were superb - we tasted a couple and decided to purchase three boxes - mine were meant to be gifts for family members. Unfortunately, a day after the purchase I had an accident and ended up in a LA hospital - and gave the chocolates away to my incredible nurses who took such good care of me. The nurses raved about the treats and I shared the shop's information with them. I look forward to ordering the chocolates (and the beautiful chocolate shoes) online - and hope that they can be delivered to Florida.”

“What a great cafe in Palo Alto. Reasonable price and nice service.The Mozzarella bread is fantastic and highly recommend to try sweet hot latte and Turkish coffee.There are alots of Baklava and sweets. Good for gifts.”

“Japanese Delights Sushi Roku is a welcome addition to Stanford Shopping Center and replaces long time, but ummemorable, Yucca de Lac Sushi Roku brings bona-fide street cred with their locations in SoCal (25 years), Las Vegas (23 years), and Austin The cuisine is very modern with a variety of hot and cold dishes as well as an extensive nigiri and sashimi selection (priced by the pair) Service is excellent with both our server and management staff, including general managers and the owner, overseeing their much awaited launch in the Northern California market There is a large bar area and ample indoor and outdoor seating that should be a hit with the Sand Hill crowd I've been to many Japanese-inspired restaurants so it was nice to see novelty takes and flavors on several dishes Hits for the night included fluke kumquat, Brussel sprouts and the yellowtail hanabi. Nigiri is solid though I'd opt for the a la carte selection Fluke Kumquat $25 / Yellowtail Hanabi $20 / Brussel Sprouts / Chef's Choice Roku Style Sushi $95 / Empress' Kiss $19 / Shoman Glory $19 Sushi Roku (Palo Alto, CA) Reservations are available on SevenRooms and seating is available both indoor and outdoor. “Delicious Nepalese food. Extremely vegetarian and vegan-friendly menu, but most of the group ate meat and everyone was very satisfied by their meals. We also shared a bottle of wine that everyone enjoyed. We had the cauliflower appetizer that they recommended and it was fantastic, would highly suggest that to everyone who eats here. We also enjoyed the mushroom and buffalo appetizers as well. A lot of great options to choose from.”

“Food was great!! My daughter loves the butter chicken as she says it melts in your mouth with the amazing flavor. The oyster mushroom was delicious with the great texture!! And my son enjoyed the butter naan. Service was wonderful as always and the atmosphere was welcoming and aesthetically pleasing.”

“Walked in w/o a reservation to celebrate a birthday. Warmly greeted and accommodated. Spinach salad was delicious topped with homemade potato chips, creamy goat cheese and profuse amount of pancetta. The Capriccio pizza had great toppings of prociutto, artichokes, olives. Regretting became soggy while we ate. Portions are copious and each dish easily feed two. The bombilini donuts are DELICIOUS! Great atmosphere. Lively, but the tables were nicely pleased so conversation was not impacted. The wait staff was wonderful. I would only have liked tablecloths! That would have matched the quality of the food and service.”

“Great friendly service. I ordered a patty melt last night for takeout and found out it was an Italian job instead because it was meatless with mushrooms instead. I came back the next day and they made me a new patty melt after I showed them a picture of what I got. This place is great for a late night snack and they open late!”

“I came here last summer and it was quite an interesting experience. We ordered and then sat outside.The paratha roll was great all around -- tender and flavorful spicy chicken in a buttery roll. I'd definitely get this again.The sizzling chicken dish had good flavor but the chicken was not as tender as I would've liked.The palak paneer was pretty meh. Not creamy and just spinachy.The garlic naan and mango lassi were good. Overall I had a good time here and would definitely get the paratha roll again.”

“As usual, Flea St takes all the best parts of the farm-to-table method, stays true to the mission without a lot of self-congratulatory stuff, then adds real attentive service and care to every detail such that you feel like they've been just waiting to have you as a guest. “Tamarine is a upscale Vietnamese restaurant in Palo Alto. The last time I came here, I thought all of the dishes were amazing. After this time, I think it's a bit overpriced for the quality of food, but the service is definitely on-par. FOOD [3.5/5] =========== + Empress Rice (3/5) For the price of $15, I thought this dish was too expensive. It's great sticky rice but the seasoning is weak and the egg was overcooked. + Ha Long Bay Soup (3/5) I ordered this because the reviews said this was a really good soup but unfortunately I didn't really enjoy it at all. It was way too sour for my liking and we couldn't end up finishing the dish because it was just that sour. + Banh Mi Roti (3/5) The roti was great! The dipping sauce was okay. It wasn't as flavorful as I thought it would be. + Shaking Beef (4/5) Really tender beef. Was a little disappointed because even though the meat was cooked well, I thought this was a really simple dish for the price. SERVICE [5/5] =========== No complaints about service! They were very attentive, changed out our plates after every course with perfect timing, and very friendly.”
