Loved the cozy atmosphere—perfect for a chilly night! The sushi is top-notch with generous, thick cuts of fresh, soft fish. Service was lightning fast; hot dishes (like the delicious sizzling black cod) arrived with the sushi. The only slight miss was the A5 Wagyu, which was chewy despite its great umami seasoning. Overall: Excellent food, great service, and highly recommended!“

“This is one of our very favorite restaurants in laguna beach. We used it frequently during COVID.. my friend Nancy and I lunched there about every two weeks..food and service is excellent. Unfortunately health issues has slowed us down. Nancy is recovering. My daughter takes me on our way back from my dr. Appt in Newport Beach. We love Mandarin King. It's run by family. Priscilla and her husband and their kids when they are on break from college. The food is delicious whatever we order. The service is A+ friendly staff.“

“The Lumberyard located in beautiful downtown Laguna Beach is a great place to have lunch or dinner. There is a new $16 lunch menu and I decided to try the fish tacos. There was a choice between salmon or halibut for the tacos which included shredded cabbage with a pink cream sauce and a side of black bean and corn salad. I chose the halibut for my taco and it was cooked perfectly. It was a generous portion of fish in each of the tacos so it could easily be split with a friend. The service was excellent. Our orders were taken within about five minutes of sitting down and the food came out quickly after we ordered. I would recommend the Lumberyard if you are visiting Laguna Beach. You will need to have reservations during the Art Festivals or when there is a play at the Playhouse.“

“A nice small café with a boutique attached. It felt to me like an original breakfast place with unique menu items.

Your order at the counter where you can also see the daily specials, and then you sit where you want.

The food actually came pretty fast.
The hot chocolate was nice - it wasn’t too thick and didn’t seem over sweet. The foam was actually nice to have!
There is an effort in presentation as you can see from the pictures.
We all liked it. I tried a bit of the swedish pancakes, it is very sweet and heavy as you can expect, but enjoyable!
The Eggs Anna were definitely original with that sauce. It was very interesting. I’m not gonna say it’s the best thing I ever had, but it was good.

It was farmers’ market, but we didn’t struggle to find a place to sit.
For parking, you need to find in the city - but, the place is not far from the main areas, so convenient. You just walk a few blocks.

Overall, a cool spot - we were not sure where to go and wanted a more local place. So, I guess we found it!“

“My last visit was 7 years ago during a food tour where this was one of the stops. I’m happy to report that they are still as good as ever. Where can you get a carne asada burrito for under $13 these days and one that is so fresh tasting. I purposely ate it without the accompanying verde sauce. The meat was perfectly seasoned, tender, cabbage and avocados were fresh, and the flour tortilla was thin and stretchy which held together all that goodness.

We were enjoying it so much we didn’t get a chance to take a photo. Dine-in is quite small having only 2 outside tables so it’s best for takeaway. Just walk 3 blocks on Laguna Ave. toward the ocean, sit on one of the park benches, and enjoy. Good job guys. So nice to know you’re still going strong and serving up fresh, affordable options in this pricey beach town.“

“Thai Brothers has been in Laguna Beach for almost 40 year and the food is absolutely wonderful! They provide large servings and allow you to easily customize your order. The staff are friendly and always make me smile. I usually get takeout though because the restaurant is relatively small and it can be difficult to hear each other sometimes. “I ordered the ramen tofu because there normal ramen was a combination of tonkotsu broth with pork and chicken.
Since I don't eat pork, it had to be the tofu one, which is really sad for me. I was expecting them to add chicken to it, but they couldn't, so I had to order a chicken lolipop on the side, which was actually pretty good.
So if you don't like/eat pork it's gonna be hard for you in there but otherwise the ramen tofu was good but I didn't want to eat tofu because I don’t like it but chicken but like I said I had no choice but to order it.“

“We enjoyed a lovely Thanksgiving dinner at Splashes. The restaurant is perched just above the beach with beautiful views and sea breezes coming in through the open doors. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. We will definitely be back!“

We had a bit of a wait for our food but we were not in any hurry so it was not a big deal and the servers were really good at checking in with us and apologising for the delay and were super friendly . “I got to visit on 6/22 minutes before our group went to hang out at the beach. I ordered one of the popular smoothies, Chunky Monkey. I enjoyed my drink because I could taste the peanut butter, chocolaty flavors. The place was clean and had a nice wall of art of avocados. Next time, I want to try a sandwich or an avocado toast. There is plenty of seating outside. I would have given it five stars if they had a smaller size of cup just because I knew I didn't want too much.“
