“The best vegan pho I’ve ever had.“

“Great restaurant with a small, family feel. The food is amazing, and honestly at a steal of a price; the food is half as expensive and more than twice as delicious as other restaurants I've been to. I had the quatrro formaggio because I noticed gorgonzola on the ingredients list, and I loved every single bite! It was so nice to have a dish that put the gorgonzola flavor front-and-center, and the cream sauce was somehow light while still being packed full of flavor.
My wife had the lasagna, and it's easy to see why it's a favorite here. It cem out with the sauce still bubbling, and once she could dig in she described it as lightly sweet, a welcome change from some overly-acidic dishes at some other places.
The service was also impeccable, the staff was very friendly and welcoming and we felt very well attended-to. We came in about an hour or so before closing so there weren't many other customers, and we got our food impressively quickly.
Another note, if you are staying at any of the nearby hotels (specifically the row of hotels on Lake Center Drive) then this restaurant is extremely close, easily walkable if you want. It would make a convenient, delicious, and good-valued addition to your vacation.“

I felt I didnt5 leave as much as I sgould have, I'm sorry. Really awesome and welcoming. Haven't been here since I was a kid. Totally fun for the nostaliga love. The salad bar was awesome, glad to see it open again. Good prices for everything as well. Life you get tons of healthy options here! They still have the cheese toast! That was my treat with the salad. The food is good and simple. Perfect spot for picky eaters, I saw plenty of kids getting food and actually eating it.“

“Haven't been here in awhile and my nephew wanted this for dinner and we stopped by. He love the galbi which you can order as a plate/bowl for extra or as a side. We ended up ordering a double side which is very reasonably priced and decent amount of food.

I also got the plate with galbi and 4 sides which I also enjoyed. Overall a decent amount of food for the price and the quality is good.“

It was also unusual that the rolls fell apart. They gave us two eggs with the oden... The bonito broth tasted exactly like the one from Lawson convenience store, haha. The sake-steamed clams really tasted strongly of sake! The sukiyaki was quite impressive, a huge bowl! The only downside was the lack of a raw egg accompaniment, which felt like something essential was missing“

“We were visiting from Scotland, having previously lived in NYC for many years, and were desperate for a nice Italian meal like we used to get when we lived in the States. We could not have been more impressed with the food and the service, and made sure we got a second visit in before we returned to Scotland - I just wish we could have gone back a third time… and fourth !!!! “This is a solid Vietnamese restaurant in South OC. Everything about it is very traditional, the menu and food would be just the same in Vietnam. Got the Pho Tai and Oxtail Pho. Oxtail was nicely braised, the Pho Tai beef a bit overdone. Broth was good. Get the large for $1 more, the portions are huge.

To some previous posters that reflected on the higher prices, or humble furniture, welcome to South OC, the rent is too damn high.“

“Forgot how flavorful the food is here. It has been a little while since visiting Wahoo's since my go-to is not a fish taco.
I had the Bonzai Burrito with Asada Beef. It comes with marinated veggies, which adds a unique flavor to the entire burrito.
The salads are also good and quite large.
There wasn't a long line and our order was taken quickly, we did wait a while for the food service but it arrived hot and as ordered.
The atmosphere is lifted with decorations that are unique and festive.
Prices are very affordable and coupons or online discounts are often available. Parking lot is small but there seems to be space near by.“

“Hidden gem for Thai food. The quiet and nondescript building doesn't bear witness to the quality of food served.
Very genuine food and polite servers who aim to please.
We shared the Pad See-Ew with Pork and Yellow Curry with Chicken and rice. We also ordered the rare Mango Sticky Rice.
This is highly recommended but save room for dessert. The meals are hearty and the mango and sticky rice are plentious.
Service is excellent and helpful.
The atmosphere is very authentic with the ongoing elephant theme throughout.“

“One of the most authentic and yummy XLB places. The waitlist can be a bit long during peak hours, but their system takes care of it. Services are fine too, just sometimes a bit monotone as they are very focused on their tasks. Simple and clean environment while we can also buy togo frozen XLB to steam at home. All their greens and veggies dishes are wonderful!“

“Sashimi is a sushi restaurant located at the corner of Lake Forest Drive and Dimension Drive. It appears to be run by a Korean family and is a popular spot among the locals. They have a sushi bar, but we opted to dine at a table. Steve greeted us and was not only friendly and helpful, but his service level enhanced our overall dining experience.

We tried a number of dishes during our visit. Among my favorites were the Veggie Tempura, Salmon Nigiri, Lake Forest Roll (I appreciate that they allow substitutions so I subbed spicy yellowtail in place of the spicy tuna) and Special Carpaccio S. The Spicy Salmon cut roll was nothing special and tasted more like a California Roll. The Yellowtail Cheek was good, but it was more meaty and less tender than I've enjoyed at other Japanese restaurants. My wife ordered the Pink Lady, but I prefer my sushi with rice. All in all, we enjoyed our Sashimi experience and I'd recommend checking it out if you're in Lake Forest and in the mood for raw fish at a reasonable price.“

“Simply Pho is very good! Their Pho broth was flavorful, . We had both the beef broth and the chicken broths. The Vietnamese spring rolls have vermicelli and lettuce wrapped in rice paper, served with homemade sauce—so fresh and addictive. We had the chicken wraps. They also served us a free desert which was like a tapioca style pudding but really sweet!“

“Wow!! The amount of care and service they provide even during a rush is astounding! The cooks were working together to get meals out timely and the front counter crew were restocking, taking orders, and neatly plating the food. My partner and I watched in awe. Despite a few people being a bit impatient (I mean you can look at their packed screens) they handled it phenomenally. Food was amazing, perfect amount of toppings on the tacos, tortillas were at a great temp, really good guacamole with our chips, and at a really great price! “honestly its one of the best spots in town and i keep coming back like alot, service is quick even when its packed which is every time im here. the broth has that deep richness you cant find everywhere, definately tastes like they put in the work not just tossing a bouillon cube in water. i've probably been like 20 times easily and I still order the same thing because why fix what isnt broken. only thing that bugs me is the parking situation, tommorrow when you come be prepared to hunt for a spot or park way out.

but the noodles and the meat portions are always on point so thats what matters in the end. like I said four stars because I love it but that parking lot stress keeps it from being perfect for me“

“I have been coming to Ikes for years and when I found out they opened a location in Lake Forest I was so excited! I ordered online about a week ago and requested that the bun be extra extra toasted (I love the toasted french bread here). To my dismay, the bread was completely soft and soggy (not toasted at all!). I was so disappointed as this was my first time ordering from this location. I decided to come back and give it another shot! I was welcomed by Eli, and they were so incredibly helpful!! They listened to my complaint about my last order and offered to remake my sandwich with a big smile :) I was almost ready to skip this location for my future orders but Eli was absolutely amazing. He apologized for the past order and did everything to ensure my current sandwich (which he offered me as a replacement) was beyond excellence. Amazing human being and representative of Ikes Sandwiches!!“

“I was looking for a new Thai place to try in the area and I’m so glad that I found Plern Thai Cafe in my search on Google. I really appreciated that Plern offers a vegetarian pad see ew with tofu—I personally don’t like seafood and fish sauces in noodles and other dishes. It was probably the best pad see ew I’ve had in a very long time! I ordered takeout, but when I came into the restaurant to pick up my order, staff were very kind and welcoming.
