“Food was delicious, service trailed off towards the end of the meal. It was my son's birthday, which we noted in Open Table when we made the reservation, but no notice was made of the event with a candle in the desserts we ordered, for example. As the crowd thinned out the servers started wrapping things up and it took some time for us to be able to get someone's attention to bring us our check.“

“Scoma's was one of the highlights of my summer last year. It was at Scoma's that I discovered that I am, in fact, a Lazy Man who requires Lazy Man's Cioppino. The restaurant is lovely, tucked away on a pier. The service was wonderful -- the waitress was really nice and seemed to love the food. The lazy man's cioppino was incredible! A warm, savory, thick tomato broth with perfectly cooked seafood. The mussels and clams were so juicy and succulent. The scallops (3) were so good, fat, and tender. The shrimp was yummy and not overcooked. The fish was well cooked -- not my favorite component, but still good. And of course, no need to get down with the crab shells since the crab meat has been pre-picked. I am a lazy man and this is my cioppino of choice. Definitely worth the price! The Rockefeller oysters were meh; too much cheese and spinach. I've had better broiled oysters (Acme in NOLA!). The oysters themselves were good, but it was hard to tell under the cheese sauce. We were seated next to a couple who had moved from the Bay to the East Coast, and cited Scoma's as a reason why they missed the Bay. I definitely want to return during future visits to SF!“

“Located in the Presidio, Dalida has THE BEST pita bread ever! Trust me, you'll want to order an extra to enjoy with the hummus that comes with the dish "breaking bread". Dalida expertly cooks their lamb, I highly recommend ordering the lamb shoulder. Another dish that I also enjoyed was the octopus, which is plated artfully. One dish that didn't meet my expectations was the chicken. I was hard to cut and wasn't cooked throughly. Our waitress was super gracious and took the chicken back and had the kitchen fire up a new one, which was also just meh. Give this place a try, I'd just not order the chicken. Parking is fairly easy and there's outdoor dining for those rare non freezing cold SF days.“

“Food was amazing also the vibes in this restaurant are spectacular it's very lively. I had ended up having a cocktail over wine of course the gimlet there was bomb I ended up having two. Service was overly great I must say like a little too great not saying that I don't like to be checked up on but any given moment things were cleared and we were asked how is everything ...glasses were always full. The potatoes were alright and the brussel sprouts the same. I wasn't really digging the beef short rib but the agnolotti dal plin ugh was so good I will come back just for this.“

“Tasty mexican food in North Beach. It was pretty early - like 5:30 pm - and the place was empty, so the orders delivery was fast. We had a burrito (big!) and some tacos with carne asada (portion of three), a cheese enchilada and tacos with guacamole. Everything was really tasty, maybe a little hard to digest (more than other mexican experiences) but I have to say I was really hungry and I ate fast. This food plus two margaritas was like 72$ without tip and I think it’s pretty expensive (it was the most expensive dinner in a almost two weeks trip in and around San Francisco so I think it’s something worth to say). Not so happy with that.Other things: the neighborhood is pretty great, the location is just okay (it doesn’t recall authenticity but it looks more like a franchise fast food); service is a bit cold but kind so nothing to whine about (it’s just an observation). So yeah if you’re hungry, price it’s not a problem and you aren’t looking for a “traditional” kind of thing, this is the place!“

“I love this bar/lounge! Upstairs is a quieter area with seating and a bar, but downstairs is the lounge where the live music happens on weekend nights, and this is the place to be! We always have so much fun here. You can even rent out private tables for the live music. This is a great place to drink and dance with young people all the way to older people. I don’t recommend the signature drinks if you don’t like sweet but I like their beers or typical bar drinks. Love this place so much and its tribute to history in Chinatown.“

“Not the best Irish coffee in town, but certainly someplace everyone needs to visit while in San Francisco. I have eaten there a couple of times and the food is marginal. The focus here is on the Irish coffee. The bartenders have been there forever. Is it a tourist dive? Absolutely. Should you still go? Absolutely.“

“We got the first table as you walk in the place and felt cozy and comfortable. The service was excellent and the food quite good. The chef's complimentary chocolate truffles for the restaurant's 10 year anniversary were excellent. We will certainly be back!Dietary restrictions: Our friend is gluten free and was happy with the available options.“

“What a lovely little spot! We stumbled across this restaurant when we were in North Beach and wanted to get some Italian. It was one of the few spots that was open late. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised! The owner/chef was so charismatic and kind, made us feel taken cared of. He also gave great wine recommendations for our meals. The gnocchi was out of this world, it was like a pillow melting in my mouth. What a great experience especially when you want traditional Italian food. We will definitely be coming back again and trying more of the pasta dishes!“

“This was one of the best seafood meals that I had in a long time. The portions are huge. I had the scallops brocolett & carrots for my main course along with a crab cocktail & a bowl of New England Clam Chowder. I highly recommend this place!“

“This place is the ideal dive bar. Great atmosphere, excellent service, and even better people watching. Great selection behind the bar, along with quite a few activities (i.e. darts, pool, shuffleboard, basketball head-to-head, etc.). It's definitely a fun place if you're in the neighborhood. A bucket of Modelo was $25“

“Had nice, relaxing brunch. The Fiaker goulash was good. Kid subbed hash browns for caraway potatoes and the hash browns were divine. The caraway potatoes were great too. Pretzel for app was delicious. Looked forward to the wiener schnitzel with great anticipation and it was oh so close! But it was the one disappointment -- the fry was light and crispy, and I appreciate having a pork loin schnitzel (chicken doesn't qualify). But the one thing is that it was WAY TOO buttery. I couldn't taste anything but butter. It came with a great, light potato and cucumber salad. I tried lightening the schnitzel with the provided lingonberry sauce but that also somehow tasted of butter. Only the mustard provided with the pretzel helped offset the butteriness. Looking for a replacement for Suppenkuche's wiener schnitzel and this comes the closest except for the over butteriness. So for now, the best schnitzel in SF is at Radhaus.“

“We went here on a Saturday night for a quick dinner before attending a private party in their patio area. We got there around 8:15 and were seated immediately. Service was excellent. Cocktails were tasty. We ordered a Cobb salad, two pork belly entrées, and some truffle fries. Everything was delicious. The pork belly came with a buttery polenta. After dinner we moved to the middle patio for a private party and service was awesome. I wasn't sure what to expect and was very pleasantly surprised. We chose tipsy pig because it was convenient and the same place as our party. I highly recommend this Gastropub.“

They are fast and the service is (only) the best service you have ever experienced. That’s all. Just that.Do yourself a favor, and go here and treat yourself. The prices are very reasonable but make sure you are kind to the staff and tip generously and they will make your night really magical and special. Thanks guys. “This is a straight up city corner bar that you stumble into before/after doing something else. The bartenders are pretty nice and the drinks are standard. “Can only comment on oysters, cocktails and ambiance. Super cute spot, cool bar top - great for photos - we took several. Oysters were great! Fresh and flavorful. Our friend even tried her first oyster here tonight. Cocktails were unique and delicious ~$16/each. But the main reason we will be back is due to the service of the bartender, Heidi. She was awesome - friendly, efficient and just gets it!“
“I came here for a team happy hour and I have to say, you should definitely make reservations if you are planning on coming with a group because this place fills up pretty fast. We were so thankful we did. While we were there, there were three other groups there with their own reservations. Since this place isn't terribly big, it got really loud and I could barely talk to the person next to me. Maybe it's just because I'm hard of hearing, I'm not sure, but that was a bummer. Once the two hour window for our reservation was over, we moved closer to the bar and that was a lot better. It made a world of difference for us and it made it easier for all of us to talk to each other as a group. Next time I make reservations, I'm going to ask if we have the spot behind it because it's super ideal! The drinks and food were pretty delicious and full of variety which was really nice with all of them being reasonably priced also. Overall, I would definitely come back but just make sure to sit closer to the bar next time!“
“If you are in the know, Black Horse London Deli is the smallest coolest bar in SF and around the world possibly. The King, James has run this place for a couple of decades, it is the most unique bar spot in SF, fits only 2 handfuls of dedicated patrons, a special brand of humans indeed, the service is unsurpassed. After shelter in place, James turned it into a gourmet sandwich and hot dog kitchen, this King knows how to cook as well. So all you peeps who uses Postmates, grubhub etc. This place rocks and the food he serves is just super delicious, end of story“

“before we went on the ship to alcatraz, i wanted to have a quick bite to eat. the fried calamari were delicious - the only thing missing was a slice of lemon, which you could certainly order. unfortunately, the cocktail sauce didn't suit me at all. the waiter then brought me 2 other sauces - which i really appreciated. unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is what it is - a touristy place - overpriced.“

“718 was formerly the Blind Pig, which took over the Cathay House . The bar and seating areas are exactly the same as when the blind pig opened. They're in the process of revamping the drink menu.Drinks:I tried the jalapeño margarita..very tasty, pretty strong drink!. They used mezcal which gave it the smokiness! The bartender made us to try two new bourbon drinks. They haven't named it yet. One was mixed well, not sure what else was in it, but it was topped off with a dehydrated passion fruit. Optically stunning..maybe a just a pinch sweeter and it would be bomb! The second drink was mixed with oolong tea and five spice.. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered a second!Food: we didn't eat but they served snacks: fried wontons, potstickers and fried spring rolls.Ambiance: great space!! Comfortable seating! We were a party of five and had the whole bar to ourselves the entire time we were there. Maybe it's an after dinner spot. The one bartender was great. He served strong drinks and was very attentive. This is my new hidden gem! I will be back to try the new menu soon!“

“All smiles at Barefoot Cafe in Fairfax. They surprised our party of 8 after an amazing hike through Cataract Falls. The service was excellent and the food was fresh and delivered fast to our table. We all were extremely satisfied. A few foodie critics at our table spoke not a word as they gobbled down their sandwiches. I especially appreciated that the staff was extremely accommodating and allowed me to create an order that was not on the menu and it was incredible. I had a grilled chicken and spinach with pesto and sun dried tomatoes on grilled sourdough bread. We will definitely visit again when in the area.“

“My husband Pat and I (kim) always look forward to our visits to Marina Lounge. Bartender Peter greets us like great friends! Patrons are always friendly. We enjoy our conversations with the clientele. All in walking the close neighborhood. But we shout out to our bartender friend, Peter, for adding fun to our visit. Best part we feel safe in the neighborhood.“

“Nice to finally find a place to eat real and excellent food in SF as most places up the Pier areas are just fried fried and fried with obligatory French fries. One of us had the salmon which was gorgeous but the chicken pot pie was a revelation with loads of meat and veg with a creamy sort of stroganoff sauce and thin buttery top crust. Given that we had paid paid more for a burger in LA airport on the way to SF having a lovely meal for less was excellent. If you are near the Marina or Fillmore Street area please check it out. Nicest food I have had after 12 days in SF and Los Angeles.“

“We walked on over to this cute little place and from the outside signage you would never assume food is sold here, at least we didn't. We had one chicken and one meatball sandwich and they were both delicious. My favorite from the two was the grilled chicken, so yummy. It was hot, crispy, juicy, and flavorful. Service was great and fast. We sat outside and had a nice view of Washington Square park and the Cathedral.“

“This is a great place to get dinner before hitting your favorite bars on Polk. They had the freshest, tastiest sashimi! We got the Spoon Set A, I dont even know what 4 fishes they were but they were all great. Even my friend who doesnt particularly like slimy things enjoyed them. We also got the monkfish liver, toro handrolls, victoria secret roll and the spicy tuna roll.Plus, the waitress was so nice - they were fine with accomadating no cucumbers in our rolls. We came on a rainy Saturday evening so there was about a 5-10 minute wait to get seated - if you add your name to the waitlist on yelp beforehand I'm sure you wouldn't have to wait.“

“I've been meaning to try this place as it's a staple in the neighborhood and I finally came for dinner on a Friday evening with a friend. We had reservations that were easy to book just a day or two in advance. It was quite crowded and the service was a little spotty as we waited quite a bit to order and a couple different servers asked us for our drink order. Everyone was very friendly though. For food, I got the clam chowder and the club. The club comes with a generous portion of fries as well. Both were good! Also had a cucumber gimlet which was tasty. All in all a solid American food spot.“

“great place for some classic and not-so-classic sf seafood. i highly recommend that visitors get mike's crab wok, an asian twist on a sf staple. you could split it between two people, but one hungry person could definitely take it on. on the rest of the meal my dad says: "the seafood linguine was perfect, some of the best seafood i've ever had. i'd fly out here just to have it again." all the seafood is fresh and you can taste it. while i don't think the prices are all that worth it, i think it's a great spot for a special night out.our waitress was super helpful and gave us honest feedback on our ordering decisions, as well as offering a great dessert spot.it's worth noting that they offer sourdough as their table bread, something apparently hard to come by in the sourdough capital of the us.also worth noting: bathroom by the kitchen is haunted“
“We had a great time grabbing some drinks here before dinner. It started as a quiet bar experience, but then our bartender struck up a great conversation with us which really helped us feel more at home while we were so far away from home. I'd definitely go again!P.S. they don't serve food. Not sure if you can bring food in.“

They're like 17 bucks. They were double.“
“I don't know why it's being reported that this place is closed - it's definitely open! Hungry Club is probably my favorite dive bar in SF. It's nestled right near the corner of Columbus and Broadway, and is always full of interesting characters. Is it fancy or swanky? No, but that's not what it's aiming to be. The bartenders are the BEST, including Michelle, Carl, and Wayne. You can't go wrong with those guys. There's plenty of room to dance, sit at the bar, or grab a small table, plus there's a pool table.Manage your expectations going in, but if you're looking for a low-key place to listen to good music, drink, and talk to new people, you can't beat it.“

“If you come to Chinatown for a drink, there are several choices, but to me, the focus always seems to stay on Buddha Lounge (review: and Li Po Cocktail Lounge (review: since they both have prime locations on Grant Avenue and serve their own signature Chinese Mai Tais. This one happens to be Chinatown's oldest bar, so you'd think I would've been here before. However, despite passing by it dozens of times, nope, I had not been here until I decided to drop by on a random Thursday afternoon. Pretty quiet in here. First things first, there was nothing inside that would make you think you're in Chinatown except the greasy container of chicken chow mein a regular customer was eating at the bar. It was definitely the kind of place that attracts regulars regularly. No tourist magnet for sure, and that was a major plus. No Chinese Mai Tai either, but I'm not a huge fan of them anyway. I had a $10 Tequila Sunrise that the bartender mixed quite meticulously (photo: Her name was Amy, and she was chatty and friendly.
