“All the food was so great. Had high expectations going in since all the reviews were near perfect. I think I actually had the best Chinese food in the whole US. The salt and pepper fish was a bit too salty but I inhaled everything else. Definitely try their house special fried rice.“

“Given the excellent reviews, I decided to try this place in San Francisco's China Town and was really satisfied. Typical place and far from our Italian Chinese, the owners barely spoke English, but this did not prevent kindness and impeccable service. Homemade noodles and delicious ravioli, I recommend also trying the red bean dessert and splitting the portions as they are plentiful!“

“The Peking duck and sea bass are amazing. So is the duck bone soup. Service is lacking. Waited 22 min by a very crowded door with reservation. The waitress is not friendly. Never talked to us to make us feel welcome. Never smiled. She did not act like she wanted to be there. She just took our order. Spooned some soup into our bowls but placed all the noodles from the soup in one bowl only! Added extra duck pancakes order without informing us. Luckily it never came. I had to tell her to take it off the tab after I saw it on the check. They added 10% employee benefit automatically. Normally it's about 5%. We will return for the food but not service.“

“
Overall: Tasty food but a bit on the expensive side.
The extended review…
- We went family style and ordered a bunch of things. The standouts for me was the duck. These were entrees that were definitely more pricy but were definitely tasty and more unique.
- Friendly and attentive staff
- The ambiance is amazing. The decor is well curated and if the round tables with the inset lazy Susan were available to purchase I’d definitely consider it.“

“Despite the name Mamahuhu, which translates to "so-so" or "mediocre" in Chinese, they make pretty decent food. It's not your traditional Chinese fare or typical Americanized Chinese food - it's somewhere in between. I've tried their pork mapo tofu rice plate a couple of times and appreciate that they still use peppercorns. The sweet and sour pork is also crispy and flavorful. I would come back for a casual meal!“

“My husband and I came across your Chestnut location this past weekend! What a wonderful find. The VERY nice gentleman that served us, the best dumplings - I highly recommend the Spicy Sichuan Wontons in Red Oil. Looking forward to our next visit!“

“Enjoyed this clean and bright restaurant. I was looking for Pho and found this spot. First, service is quick and kind. They immediately greeted us with a cup of tea without asking. I enjoyed the standard beef Pho. My husband had his with egg noodles. Nice presentation and quick. Very good broth but not exceptional.“

“A wonderful hidden gem in Sausalito. The food was hot, tasty and authentic. It has been a long time since I had Chinese food that was great and swore I wouldn't eat any again unless I was back in New York. Let me tell you, eat Tommy's Wok!“

“Walked in to try their claypot rice. And I was not disappointed. In fact it went beyond expectations. The rice was cooked just nice. The ingredients were tasty. The food was served hot and sizzling. Not many tables available so during mealtimes, you might have to wait.“

“Lam's is our go to for local, comfort Chinese food. Dishes are delicious and prepared with quality ingredients, May is super-friendly, and they'll use paper containers if you ask. Our favorites: salt and pepper chicken, short ribs, shrimp chow mein and Wor wonton soup. Now I'm hungry!“

“This place has such a beautiful view and the food is absolutely Delicious!! Staff is welcoming and great service. We were able to enjoy a cocktail on the patio before our lunch reservations. The best Lychee martinis! We are visiting from Connecticut, but next time we are in San Fransisco, we will be back!!“

“We decided to stop here after walking around a bit. I am glad we did!
I ordered Kung Pao Chicken which was very tasty! My wife ordered Beef Mongolian. She liked it but said some meat was a little rubbery. We also ordered crab rangoon but they came out fairly cold and after our meal, instead of an appetizer. Not sure why but explains the temperature.
The staff was great but did have to remind them to get water and then refills. I am not sure they are used to people drinking so much water. But they attended well and were nice.
They also gave us some delicious soup on the house and some tea. Overall it was a good lunch for under $50.“

“A hidden gem, food was really good and arrived fast, really filling and budget friendly.Because the place is kinda hidden in a building, it was a little empty but the service and atmosphere was really nice.We ordered a beef chow fun, a garlic chicken dish (?) and assorted appetizers. The beef chow fun was so good we could have called it the best affordable in town, the beef is tender and tasty and the flat noodles are nicely sauced; the garlic chicken dish was our least favorite because of the amount of vegetables which we weren't a fan of, the assorted appetizers was a good sharing plate with a little of every appetizer, each tasty in their own way. The waitress was patient and really nice. The street it's located in has a bunch of stuff to do and more things a few streets away as well. We had a really nice time at the restaurant and afterwards as well.recommended.“

“Very friendly staff. Not much interior charm, table was a bit too small and chairs were uncomfortable, noise level is loud at lunch. Amenities such as ice water and paper napkins are in low supply. We were careful in ordering food and appreciated the chili pepper symbols next to the spicy dishes, but even the non spicy dishes (eggplant) were really spicy. Best to confirm spiciness with server. Our duck, pork and eggplant were just okay. If you like really spicy food this is your spot.“

“The food was tasty. Stir fried entrees don’t come with rice so you need to order it separate. They do make it easy to order food though; the menu comes on dry erase type of material.
The portions were large and we honestly couldn’t finish all the food we ordered.“

“Of all of the things to do and all of the places to eat, Kam PO Kitchen was one of the highlights of my visit to SF.
Authentic throw down
cooking of meats, veggies, soup and more in bare bones atmosphere.
These street corner restaurants are where you find the best home style cooking.
The nice lady named Ho was so kind and helpful with food suggestions and the cook who didn't have much to say just threw down and prepared some great food.
This place is a must stop and eat in SF.
Be sure to arrive on an empty stomach so you can indulge.“

“The restaurant was full at lunchtime on a Monday. There was a short wait before I was seated. I ordered a wonton soup $8 and a crispy tomato beef noodles $13.75. It took about five minutes for the soup to come out and another 15 minutes for the crispy noodles to arrive. The wontons were tasty with pieces of minced meat and shrimp. As for the crispy noodles, the chef messed it up. I asked for less sauce and it came out smothered. Most of the noodles were already soggy. There's no sense in ordering crispy noodles if the chef is going to do that. There's only one waitress for the entire restaurant. Service is slow but I don't blame her. Pro tip, the restroom key is tied to a tin can on the bakery counter.“

“You know you came here for the noodles, so don’t complain about the service or the waitress not asking how your day went. The wontons are good but the dumplings are even better. Their beef brisket over noodles are very good. The pork kidney and liver is also my favorite.“

“This was my first visit to dine in here. I have gotten take away several times and it was always good. Today I went with a colleague we had pot stickers, Won Ton Soup and Shrimp and vegetables. Everything was delicious, the pot stickers were the largest I have ever had and tasted home made. The soup and shrimp dish were both very good. We will be back again. Service was quick, the staff was nice and the place was clean. They brought ice water and hot tea for us to enjoy.
Parking: Plenty of parking“
“A selfish part of me wants to keep this place a secret, but another part wants others to experience it. We ordered the walnut shrimp, pig stomach in XO sauce, and the salted fish & chicken dish. The walnut shrimp was a let down, not because it was bad (it was tasty), but the other two dishes were more savory/tasty in comparison. 3 dishes for $33.99 (+extra for shrimp). Our meal came with tea and a complimentary soup (super tasty and comforting). Altogether $50 with tax/tip.
We paid with CASH. Idk if they accept card, but I’d recommend CASH for places like this. Wells Fargo is across the street, there’s a Chase in the area, and if you’re walking up Grant, there is also a CitiBank.
This place was a vibe. Open till midnight offering Chinese diner food in the outskirts of where Chinatown meets North Beach. You don’t come here for the service. You come here when it’s late, all places are closed, and you just want something comforting and savory to fill your stomach.“

“Stopped here for lunch with the family. They have a nice lunch special menu with lots of options and a bento box style as well if you want with potstickers, spring rolls and others. Very reasonably priced and they seem to have a lot of take up business. They also have dim sum options although we didn't try any.
Their shrimp eggplant dish is slightly spicy. They don't mark their spicy dishes on their menu so be sure to ask if you have any doubts.“

“What Tai Chi lacks in atmosphere it makes up for in delicious, flavor packed Chinese food. My new favorite casual Chinese restaurant serving some American favorites like their Sesame Chicken and Mongolian Beef. Their soups are so comforting. You can’t go wrong. The only thing I’ve had here (so far) that was not memorable were the potstickers. If you are looking for easy and dependable Chinese food Tai Chi is the place.“

“The yellow eel clay pot rice tastes so delicious!! And it’s huge portion. All the other dishes we ordered were also good. I especially liked the scallion pancake. Wish I have a bigger stomach to order more :)I also really appreciate the staff kept my wallet in a safe place (I accidentally left my wallet in the store) so I didn’t lose it. Thank you so much!“

“I meet friends in this great restaurant quite a bit! This is my favorite place to dine. I go there regularly. The food is fantastic, the workers are professional and the rates are reasonable. I enjoy meeting in this spot to have a tasty lunch.“
“The spicy chicken wasn't as spicy as I would have liked - even with the additional hot sauce they provided - but then again, that might just be my high tolerance. The chicken itself was juicy and scrumptious and the garlic noodles had a great consistency to them. I didn't try the donuts, but the apple fritters were a great size and I definitely want to try one the next time I'm in the area. Employees were friendly and inviting, which is key for me as a return customer. And the prices are wonderful - currently 8 dollars for three items! While the selection isn't as wide as other Chinese joints (especially in Chinatown), it's great if you're craving Chinese food and want some some quick and cheap takeout.“

“Went for an earlier dinner with my girlfriend, we made reservations for 645pm.
We were seated upstairs, and it wasn't very busy (compared to when we left an hour later it was packed).
We did the all you can eat for about $40 each, we did the pumpkin broth and the Sichuan pepper broth and both were really amazing.
I don't eat a lot of meat, and I was really impressed with their huge selection of veggies.
This place is super vegetarian and vegan friendly. We had multiple kinds of mushrooms, tofu, cabbage, noodles, squash, quail eggs, tiger shrimp, and some beef brisket.
10/10 can't wait to come back“

“The best Chinese take out in the area. Great food, great portions, owner has worked there a long time and always treats her customers well. It is a steam table restaurant, so not a fancy/sit down atmosphere, but the food is consistently delicious and the service is very fast. My personal favorites are the fried rice, sesame chicken, and BBQ pork, however everything I have tried on the menu has been good. I highly recommend them if you are visiting and need a quick bite, and if you are a local who has never been, you are missing out!“

“While staying in San Francisco for a medical procedure, my husband and I had a craving for Chinese. A quick Google search and we found our way to Sun Kwong. “This Chinese restaurant is more authentic than others I was to in the past (and in Europe). The meals really taste good and even are better than the standard Chinese tastes I am used to. An indicator for quality should also be, that many Chinese locals visit the restaurant. Clean place, fast service, everything was fine.“

“This is the only Chinese food I eat in San Rafael. Sometimes, I crave it. Their shrimp fried rice, and chicken chow mein is the best I've tasted since I was a kid. That real authentic taste. Plus, I don't have to worry about peas and carrots in my fried rice (that's a no-no). Their rice is full of flavor. You know it when you see it because it's not white with stuff mixed in. I absolutely love this place. It's in the next city over but it's worth it...“

“Family run and owned. We have been going to Dj's since it was Cj's. Very warm friendly staff. Nice small place with excellent food. Anything you order will come to your table with a smile. I can't stress how friendly they are, and they remember your name when you come. Really rare. They are service dog friendly with outdoor dinning option. We will always be returning here. Don't miss out on this place. ???“
