“The food was flavourful and the texture was just right. We ordered the Peking duck and soy chicken. Our kids loved the chicken with a side of steamed rice. The chef enjoys strong flavours and skillfully cut the chicken like butter in front of our table. The atmosphere is casual with an Asian-fusion trendy vibe.“

“California-style Cantonese cuisine! I really like the decoration style here, which always makes me feel better when dining here. The golden lotus chandelier and the gold and silver wire lamp are definitely the best decoration! 👍The pastries here are also worth mentioning! Pineapple buns, wife cakes, black sesame banana cakes with miso sugar!“

“Very attentive and friendly staff. Atmosphere was quaint. Expected food to come out consistently together for group so that everyone could select their entrees and also eat the chow mein and/or rice with the meats and veggie options we selected. Would recommend the Mongolian beef and vegetable egg rolls!“

“In Chinatown classic! I had the pure Rice noodle combination. My husband had the curry chicken and we split the eggrolls. They give you complementary hot tea and they are awesome people not to mention they were playing the best 80s music!!“

“Stopped in for a mango pomelo sago drink and can confirm it is as delicious as everyone else has said here. They use a good type of mango, and the sago and cream topping were creamy and sweet without being too much. It reminded me of a mango lassi!“

“Cheap and cheerful. This place was amazing. The food is great, fast and so authentic. It’s communal seating and what’s available but everyone understands that. It’s a friendly atmosphere. The service is so fast and it is more of an eat-n-go places. There was a short wait but we got a seat in 5 minutes. It is cash only. I would highly recommend this place. They don’t steer away from their natural demographic so they have a lot of food items that Asian tastebuds would enjoy but may not be of intrigue to someone less familiar with items like kidney, pig’s feet, liver etc. I love this place though and it is a gem. 10/10“

“Every time we plan to go to San Francisco for a trip, my dad gets so excited about having a meal at this place because of some really good Chinese food in San Francisco. This is my dad’s cherry on top place in the city.“

“I went there to see if I could eat there, but it was a take-out restaurant.
However, I ordered delicious food and enjoyed it when I got home.
I was grateful that the friendly staff told me about nearby parks where I could eat and explained things well.
There is also a parking lot, so park comfortably.“

“At 10am on a Saturday morning, this place is PACKED and you actually have to wait. The claypot rice here is excellent…crispy, fragrant and beautifully cooked.
I would recommend getting vegetable soup to help wash things down. We got the pea sprouts (上湯豆苗) and the broth was clean and flavorful without being too salty.
Probably one of the most authentic and affordable Toisan spots in the area. The boss lady speaks Mandarin, Cantonese and Taishanese. Cash only and parking is difficult in the area.“

“Best dim sum in SF. Shark fin dumpling and deep fried pork puff are the best items. Low prices. No seating. To go only. Closes early, at 4 pm.“

“I loved the food and the service. One of our dishes was the pan fried vermicelli that was so crispy and the filling within was tasty. Too bad I can't remember the name of this dish. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. The portions were very good. Definitely would come back again.“

“This was my first visit to dine in here. I have gotten take away several times and it was always good. Today I went with a colleague we had pot stickers, Won Ton Soup and Shrimp and vegetables. Everything was delicious, the pot stickers were the largest I have ever had and tasted home made. The soup and shrimp dish were both very good. We will be back again. Service was quick, the staff was nice and the place was clean. They brought ice water and hot tea for us to enjoy.
Parking: Plenty of parking“

“I LOVED this place! Cheap, affordable, but most importantly delicious good ol’ SF Chinatown dim
sum. I ordered the shrimp dumplings, pork/chive dumplings, pork buns, shu mai, and rice rolls. Got all of this for under $20, and even cheaper since I split it with a friend. I even had more to have for breakfast later in the week. Will absolutely be back!“

“The best Chinese take out in the area. Great food, great portions, owner has worked there a long time and always treats her customers well. It is a steam table restaurant, so not a fancy/sit down atmosphere, but the food is consistently delicious and the service is very fast. My personal favorites are the fried rice, sesame chicken, and BBQ pork, however everything I have tried on the menu has been good. I highly recommend them if you are visiting and need a quick bite, and if you are a local who has never been, you are missing out!“
“The spicy chicken wasn't as spicy as I would have liked - even with the additional hot sauce they provided - but then again, that might just be my high tolerance. The chicken itself was juicy and scrumptious and the garlic noodles had a great consistency to them. I didn't try the donuts, but the apple fritters were a great size and I definitely want to try one the next time I'm in the area. Employees were friendly and inviting, which is key for me as a return customer. And the prices are wonderful - currently 8 dollars for three items! While the selection isn't as wide as other Chinese joints (especially in Chinatown), it's great if you're craving Chinese food and want some some quick and cheap takeout.“

“A selfish part of me wants to keep this place a secret, but another part wants others to experience it. We ordered the walnut shrimp, pig stomach in XO sauce, and the salted fish & chicken dish. The walnut shrimp was a let down, not because it was bad (it was tasty), but the other two dishes were more savory/tasty in comparison. 3 dishes for $33.99 (+extra for shrimp). Our meal came with tea and a complimentary soup (super tasty and comforting). Altogether $50 with tax/tip.
We paid with CASH. Idk if they accept card, but I’d recommend CASH for places like this. Wells Fargo is across the street, there’s a Chase in the area, and if you’re walking up Grant, there is also a CitiBank.
This place was a vibe. Open till midnight offering Chinese diner food in the outskirts of where Chinatown meets North Beach. You don’t come here for the service. You come here when it’s late, all places are closed, and you just want something comforting and savory to fill your stomach.“

“This place changed my life. Earlier in the day we walked by this restaurant (we had already eaten a full dinner), but the nicest man said he would stay open for us if we wanted to do some shopping before coming back. He was so enthusiastic that we picked up 3 other members from our group and came back just for the owner to convince us to get the “all you can eat” food service for a flat rate charge. Throughout the meal he kept bringing us dishes at a speedy rate. Some of the dishes we didn’t even order just so we could try them (at no additional cost). I don’t know if I have ever had such a great experience at a restaurant in San Francisco. Everyone should come here, even if it’s just for the experience“

“On a holiday retreat, and after so many big and expensive meals over the Christmas and Chanukkah holidays, we were thrilled to discover Ming's tucked away off the Main Street in Tiburon. Though GPS took us there, it was still somewhat hard to find. But we percevered Tiny and no frills, but bright and colorful. A birthday party was going on in the corner. A husband and wife and their little girl enjoying a feast across from us. Lots of people coming and going for takeout. But our server, took our order and delicious hot plates of food begam to appear. Potstickers, Wonton Soup, and Kung Pao Chicken plus a bowl of rice. It was all wonderful and enough to take home for dinner the next day. Likely, the best meal of our three-night stay. It's the simple things that matter most.“

“While staying in San Francisco for a medical procedure, my husband and I had a craving for Chinese. A quick Google search and we found our way to Sun Kwong. My husband had the Mongolian Beef while I had the Clay Pot. I ordered them to go.. Definitely worth it. Large portions for a good price. Definitely found our new favorite place.“

“My friends first ate at this restaurant in 1985 and we have been going here until 1989 when all moved out in 1989. It was just a hole in the wall back then.
We were in San Francisco today and I decided to order take out food - combination fried rice and general chicken. The food is as good back in the 80s and the big portion hasn’t changed!
Definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants in city especially for the price!“

“We came in on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty empty. The food was surprisingly good. We didn't get the eel claypot, but the basic dishes like the BBQ Pork Rice Rolls, Fried Dumplings, Sticky Rice, Chicken Feet, and Mongolian Beef Over Rice.
Everything seemed fresh and service was prompt.“
“This place looks a little dingy, seems like it used to be restaurant, but now they just do takeaway. The dimsum is not premium restaurant stuff, but good hearty home style, presentation not so great, but tastes good. You could get a meal for under $10 here, but "splurge" a little and you'll be really full.“

“Stopped here for late lunch on way out of San Francisco. The place is small but the food is excellent!! We ordered entrees but they do offer a variety of lunch specials. If you can't eat in order take out, you won't be disappointed. We ordered Kung Pao Chicken, Pork Fried Rice, Singapore Noodles. Easy to get to off the 101.“

“GREAT affordable dim sum, that has very traditional authentic HK-style flavor!
The crisp, snappy texture of their shrimp and pork dumplings are simply UNBELIEVABLE!
Their deep-fried items are also AMAZING!
Be sure to try their sticky rice 'zong' and 'lo mai gai'.
Those leaf-wrapped entrees represent a good solid value if you're dining on a budget.
EXCELLENT service too!
The Chinese folks who work here are all very nice and friendly.
They speak somewhat decent/limited English, but their communication skills are GREAT.
I've seen many foreigners and tourists order food from here with NO problems or hassles. Nothing but positive experiences and smiles!
Prices are pretty fair and reasonable... You get honest-sized food portions for your money, but with INCREDIBLE taste and AWESOME quality.
The only negative here, is that there is NO seating room available; so it's pure 100% TAKE-OUT only.
BTW, it's CA$H only!
My #1 favorite go-to dim sum takeout spot in SF Chinatown!
🤘😁👍“

“Despite the bad ratings, I decided to give this place a try—and I was really surprised. It’s a hidden gem.
I think many of the negative reviews may be about cleanliness. True, it’s not the cleanest spot, but this is more of a casual eatery than a full restaurant. And considering the prices—almost like McDonald’s—it’s hard to complain.
I visited twice and both times ordered the meal of the day. Each time it was very good, with a proper amount of meat, rice, plus complimentary soup and tea. It was filling, tasty, and very affordable.
It also felt very authentic—almost all the other customers were Chinese, which says a lot about the quality.
Overall, I can definitely recommend it.“

“I've been a loyal customer for decades (used to be CJs back in the day) and love this place dearly. The pink tablecloths, the hot tea, the charming back patio, the well priced lunch plate options, the classic Chinese American dishes, the jelly belly jellybean jar, the fish tank, everything is perfect. The mushu pork, DJ chow mein, mongolian beef, and string beans are some of my favorite dishes.“
