“Wonderful sushi restaurant that’s been in Larkspur for many years for a reason. Chef, John Wayne and his wife Vanna do a great job of providing the freshest fish at reasonable prices in a cool family atmosphere. The Ferrari of sushi restaurants in Marin!“

“I ordered the Futo Roll, which was on their menu. The waitress explained that there was egg in it, and asked if I wanted the roll without it. As I am vegan, I was impressed! I appreciated that she was looking out for me! Excellent food and excellent customer service. Will definitely be back!“

“After lunch, I was surprised that they didn't have more people eating in this establishment. This is a great place for a date or to come alone. The food is amazing 10/10. We had the omakase nigiri. 10 pieces of pure magic. The ramen just was amazing the best i had in san Francisco. The staff was amazing too. Definitely give them a visit. 10/10“

“Found Sushi Tri while looking for ramen spots in Novato, but went for the sushi and wasn't disappointed. Went to dinner with our younger children(5+7), and there were other families there. Great menu selection with good prices, and quick turnaround on sushi dishes.“

“Best sushi in the city. The chefs are super talented and the waitstaff are always great. Food is top notch. Good selection for different fish and apps. I usually go for omakase, but sometimes the kira kira or ninja roll. The atmosphere is not too loud. You can usually find parking within a couple blocks.“

“This is a great little place to have sushi for lunch. I ordered a salmon teriyaki box and there was a generous portion of salmon, rice, salad, and veggies. My husband had a sushi box and said that it was very good. The prices are reasonable considering the location. The restaurant's very small so there's not much seating but it's possible to use a couple of picnic tables outside.“

“We tried both Happy Hour and dinner in one visit—two very different experiences. Overall, the food was solid. The beer was nothing special, but the cocktails were great. Happy Hour is a better deal, while dinner prices are on the higher side.“

“The exclusivity and attention to detail in this culinary haven were unparalleled. From the moment we walked in, it felt like an intimate gathering of food enthusiasts. The chef's omakase menu was a mesmerizing journey through sushi perfection, with rare ingredients and artistic presentations that left us in awe. The personalized service and wine pairings elevated the experience to new heights. The ambiance exuded sophistication and exclusivity. While it may be "Friends Only" in name, this is a destination worth befriending for an unforgettable dining experience.
Parking: Hard to find a street parking in the evening“

“Dinner started off strong with flavorful chicken and beef skewers, and the salmon kama was a highlight—perfectly cooked and delicious.
The rolls were less impressive. The Rock & Roll and Spider rolls were drenched in eel sauce, which overpowered everything. I’m always a bit cautious when sushi comes heavily sauced—it feels like something’s being covered up. The sushi rice was also a bit soggy.
The uni, saba, and hamachi sushi were all fresh and enjoyable, though the uni portions were smaller than expected.
Bill came out to over $150. A little pricey for what we got, but with smarter ordering, I’d give it another try.
4 stars“

“Delicious food, old school atmosphere, quiet ambiance the night I went but I could tell there are bad acoustics, the place appears to the owned by an older couple yet the dishes are innovative and creative, all very fresh. It’s has parking behind the building on Lombard st. It’s a win win!“

“I was skeptical about ordering because of the low review score but it was genuinely super great at a very good price point! Sushi is generally pricey especially in SF, so I was delighted at the price for the KK combo. $19 for 24 pcs is a steal.“

“Absolutely fantastic dining experience!
Everything was delicious—especially the tempura, which was perfectly crispy and full of flavor 🍤. The seaweed wrapping the rice and handrolls was unbelievably fresh and crunchy—I’ve never had anything like it! The staff were incredibly friendly and professional, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. The sake and wine selection is excellent, too.
It’s a great spot for a date, but also perfect if you’re dining solo. I can’t wait to go back!“

“Overall it was normal food.
I had high expectations because of the good ratings, but it was a bit more disappointing than I expected. However, when I revisited it, it was different.
I think it’s worth looking forward to the different types of food~^^“

“I got the chicken teriyaki lunch which comes with a salad, soup and white rice. The salad and teriyaki chicken were delicious. It was a super hot day so I honestly didn't give the soup a try. Only reason I'm giving a 4/5 is the price - a bit steep for a lunch dish.“

“This family-owned gem is one of my favorite spots to visit. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that feels like home. There's no sense of rush or over-attention, just a relaxed and pleasant vibe.
The menu offers a great variety of options, both cooked and raw. We started with miso soup and sashimi, paired with hot sake as an appetizer. For dinner, we enjoyed the Scope Special, Spicy Tuna Roll, Spider Roll, Dragon Roll, Lucky Stars, and finished off with the Chef's Special Roll. The fish was fresh, and every dish was absolutely delicious.
My friends and I had a blast, enjoying the food, sipping sake, and catching up, all without feeling rushed. If you're in the area, don't miss out on this hidden treasure. It's the kind of place that you'll want to return to again and again.“

“Stopped in this spot while in SF and it did not disappoint. The sushi burritos were fresh, loaded, and super tasty. The sauces? Straight fire—took everything to the next level. Service was fast and friendly, and while the vibe is pretty basic, the food more than makes up for it. Solid spot if you’re looking for something quick, casual, and bomb.“

“BEST LOBSTER ROLL I have ever had in my life!!!! They use a grilled Hawaiian Roll for the bun and the lobster was grilled and buttered. Coleslaw was thin sliced with Cilantro which was unique and yummy! We also ordered the Calamari which was fresh and yummy. Great selection of other fresh sea food. Sushi options as well.
They had outdoor seating, but there are no heaters.“

“I have been here 3x now and have had great food and great service. Mix and match Bento Box and Tempura are fresh. Everyone else around me always gets Sushi and I hear them say how good it is (I have not been adventurous enough to try Sushi). It is on Pine and Grant, extremely clean and nice view of Chinatown. Very reasonable prices. :)“

“Best sushi I’ve had on the west coast!!! Delicious!!!! The service seems to need a little amping up but the tastiness made it worth it!!!! Ask the sushi chef for a “special roll” you won’t be disappointed“
“Tokyo Express, back in the early 2010's, used to be really popular with a line during lunchtime. Some of my old co-workers used to enjoy coming here. Business has sure when downhill since the pandemic. There was only one other table occupied at lunch time on a Wednesday. The staff was really busy however packing up to-go orders. I had their Wednesday special, the tonkatsu $13. The pork fillet was a bit dry and not juicy, tender and properly cooked. The panko had a nice crunch. It did come with an alright tonkatsu sauce. With this dish, it should come with shredded cabbage served with a miso-ginger dressing or Japanese sesame dressing, but it didn't come with it. Since this is not an authentic Japanese restaurant, I didn't knock off stars for that. Service was non-existent as this is an order at the counter style restaurant and no tea or water was served. There was a free cup of miso soup and my food came out in a reasonable amount of time.“

“Just popped in for lunch today and the environment was so sophisticated and relaxing. There was jazz in the radio and soft lighting and I was so happy to be out of the rain. The dragon roll was the best I’ve ever had and the service was excellent. What a hidden gem- I’ll be back!“
