“La Ventanita is the most awesome "Hole in the Wall" restaurant I have ever been to -- and it's literally a hole-in-the-wall; there is no sit-down dining, inside or outside, only a window where you place your order. But the food is excellent! Their tortas are my favorites. Every time I go to LAX, I make it a point to stop at La Ventanita (which means tiny window in Spanish) and order something to go. And their prices are more than fair, so try it out and find out if you will enjoy it as much as I do.“

“I have been eating this chicken since I was a little girl. I moved to south LA and I still drive all the way to Lennox just for this chicken, price is good and food is delicious, the chicken has an amazing taste to it unlike any other! I highly recommend!

“You can always expect to have a fabulous time at Haidilao. While this chain can be more expensive than normal for hot pot, you will always know what you're getting when dining at Haidilao - high-quality, consistent, and above-average hot pot. It's like the Din Tai Fung of hot pot, and most folks would tend to agree. It's beloved for good reason.

I would suggest going with a large group, as you'll have the opportunity to try more dishes than you normally would if you had gone with a smaller group of 2 or so. Plus, it's always more fun in a larger group, in my opinion. Additionally, I definitely recommend being careful not to over-order, as it happens more often than not. Remember: You can always order more later!

I've been to Haidilao twice now and I definitely would add this to my roster of easy, group-friendly dinner ideas if you're looking for soup during a cold winter night (or any night, for that matter).

“The signature dish is the crab in sauce, which comes in medium and large sizes. medium is two crabs with two bowls of rice, and large is three crabs. Compared with other Korean restaurants, the sauce crab taste is mild, and it will not be salty enough to explode in the middle of the meal and cannot continue to eat. The crab is fresh, not fishy, and the meat is firm, not squishy. The crab meat is also very full, the crab legs are full, there is no empty shell crab. The sea urchin rice is a little smaller but the sea urchin is enough. regular sea urchins are not particularly sweet, but they are fresh and worth the price. The sea urchin Rice bowl combo will be served with steamed eggs, runny eggs and two prawns in sauce. Raw marinated salmon rice is amazing to me. The salmon is marinated just enough to be flavorful, but not overly salty. The portions are generous. You can eat two bites of each piece of salmon.“

“Came here after work for a little solo date night and it was perfect! I started with a happy hour glass of wine and a side of their olives while I read, which was such a nice way to unwind. I ended up staying for dinner and ordered the seasonal tofu curry bow, which was divine and bursting with flavor. To top it all off, I treated myself to their matcha chocolate cake, and it was the perfect sweet ending. Cozy vibes, great food, and a perfect spot to relax solo or with friends!“

“I recently purchased food from here while attending a conference in the city of Los angeles. It was truly fall off the bone deliciously seasoned chicken. The chicken was tender and juicy. It was a little difficult to separate out some of the smaller Bones from the half chicken but I got through it and enjoyed that I could rend the flesh with my hands because I did not have a knife and fork (I do not mind this it made me feel cool to eat it manually). The bread was spectacular and was baked to a degree of fluffiness that I have not experienced in another bread. I got it with hummus and pickled turnips which were pretty delectable, very toothesome and vibrantly colored. The sauces I chose were the tahini and the red sauce which were both nice accents on the food. I also got a delicious mint lemonade which was the perfect amount of sweet and tart with a nice cool mint flavor.

It is so difficult nowadays to find truly authentic Middle Eastern food, oftentimes it is just a poor imitation co-opted and misappropriated by people from northern Europe who think they have a claim to the land. That's why I am so glad you have gotten food from Jerusalem Chicken where I could tell it was cooked by people truly native to the land.“

“Brunch! My party of 4 was delighted with the delicious food, with flavors of the African Diaspora and warm atmosphere. The host allowed us to change our hi top reservation due to two of my guests being seasoned and fierce, of course. I greatly appreciated that! “I don’t know how ‘hidden’ of a gem this is - but it is a gem. Such a unique place seeing as the only other one in the world is in London. Food is stellar and there are both British and American options on the menu. The display of motorcycles creates a fun atmosphere. There is a shop, barber, tattoo parlour, and display room for motorcycles as well as many other places to hang out here. Must visit if you are an auto or motorcycle enthusiast while in LA“

“This meal was the highlight of our LA trip! I don’t know what kind of sorcery is afoot here but this little spot manages to be so much more than the sum of its parts. I felt so welcomed from the moment I stepped through the door and I liked that they have you order and pay before sitting down, it makes the dining experience more relaxing and low key. Loved how short and sweet the menu was, the chef has incredible restraint and a crystal clear vision. Every single thing we had was incredible, the best hk french toast and bolo bao I have ever had, and omg the scallion roll and dumplings.
