“My first visit to Mikiya was shortly after they opened. The food and service were decent, but a 45-minute wait past our reservation time left a bad taste, figuratively speaking. I wasn't sure I'd be back.

I'm glad I gave it another shot. This time we came to celebrate a visiting friend, and Mikiya more than delivered. The menu has noticeably improved, we were seated promptly, and our server Zac was the kind of hospitality professional who makes a meal memorable. Friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being overbearing, his recommendations were spot on and genuinely elevated the whole experience.

It's clear the team has put in real work since opening. I'm signing up for the membership and already looking forward to the next visit.“

“This is the best pan-fried soup dumpling I’ve had in the Bay Area. The xiao long bao have thicker skins, and while I personally prefer the thinner ones from Din Tai Fung, these still have plenty of soup and aren’t bad. The dumplings, mushroom pork buns, chicken pan-fried dumplings, and spicy beef hotpot were all solid and tasty, though not particularly outstanding. The scallion bun is packed with scallions, making it a must-try for scallion lovers. Overall, the food was delicious, and I’ll definitely visit again.“

“This place is so good and cheap (for downtown Palo Alto). It's a great place to grab a quick, delicious bite! The onigiris are soft and flavorful, and the karaage chicken is perfectly crispy. I love the selection of flavors, and some of my favorites include the poke salmon, spam and miso beef. I did try the strawberry cream puffs and they were nothing special. Other than that, you really can't go wrong :)“

“This is the best Nepali food in the silicon valley. The food is 100% authentic and fresh. They had the best thali I've had in a long time. The Thali comes on a brass dish just like in Nepal.

The tea and kheer are very flavorful.

The service is impeccable and welcoming. The staff will chat with you if you wish and are so happy to share Nepali culture.

The music is what actual Nepali people listen to instead of just Nepali classical

“Momos are delicious. 10/10. You cannot go wrong with any vegetarian momos. Be it steamed, baked in a tandoor, or saucy (Jhol).

Breads are well-made to perfection. Curry was good, nothing spectacular. I look forward to trying other curries.

The dine in experience was excruciating. We were offered the pappadam immediately after we were seated. We waited 30 minutes for the momos (appetizer) to arrive and another 40 minutes after we finished momos for the main course (1 curry & 2 naan).

While we patiently waited 60+ minutes in total for our food, there were plenty of to go orders slinging out of kitchen every 2-3 minutes. I suspect this restaurant prefers takeout (they also offer discounts for takeout if I remember correctly).“

“Pretty good. I've been to teriyaki madness a bunch in Las Vegas and I feel like there used to be more tofu in my junior bowl. I also think that the teriyaki sauce has been a bit watered down unfortunately. It's definitely more expensive than in Vegas.... Five more dollars a bowl.“

“I cannot say enough about this restaurant! GOGA is the place to go for fresh, healthy, delicious food! Definitely Saratoga’s hidden gem! It is behind the UPS building with plenty of parking. The staff is wonderful, very accommodating & Chef Brads presentation & deliciousness of his fabulous meals is always 5 stars! I first encountered this little slice of island paradise because I joined an ukulele meet-up group that would play here together pre-COVID. Lots of selection of Hawaiian staples and favorites, always served up in generous portions. My favorite is the bar menu, which is also extensive and fun - haven't tasted them all (yet), but what a great value for the glass full of fun they pour. “I catered an event for over 80 people with Roost And Roast. Everyone raved about the food! The owner, Branden, was extremely generous and kind and made a special delivery to our event, after closing hours. Each tray was generously filled, and we had an abundance of food. They have a LARGE selection of ingredients to choose from for your hot pot as well as fruit, cake and freshly made ice cream for dessert. Drinks are included in the buffet price.

Staff are very friendly and helpful and explain things well. This was important for us as we had never been to a hot pot place before so we had no idea what to do😂.

They are open 7 days a week with lunch and dinner buffet. Call for hours and prices. We had lunch on a monday and before tip for 2 of us it was $44.95.

“While it’s a beautiful place and great location, I wasn’t particularly blown away by the food. It really might be what I ordered but for 30 dollars with the substitutions the Gardena soufflé is really underwhelming. But the dishes my friend ordered as well as dishes on tables near us looked much more flavorful and interesting so I’m not docking much from my rating. But overall i left a little disappointed. I would recommend trying something besides the soufflés as I suspect that’s where I made my mistake.“

We get the bento boxes with teryaki chicken, California rolls, and sashimi (tuna or salmon) the miso soup is great and the salad with that delicious dressing is perfect. “Stopped by The Mandarin Chinese while hoping for some great Chinese food in town. The location was convenient, and the space itself is quite nice, with the added bonus of upstairs seating. Service was smooth; we came on a Friday evening, got seated right away, and dishes arrived in a steady flow.

Unfortunately, the experience was a bit mixed. The sizzling rice soup was disappointing; it came out lukewarm and didn’t sizzle at all, with a watered-down broth. Definitely underwhelming.

That said, the rest of the meal was much better. We ordered Spicy Beef Tendon, Salt and Pepper Tofu, Garlic Snow Pea Leaves, Eggplant in Spicy Sauce, and Kung Pao Chicken. Every dish was flavorful, and the Szechuan-style seasoning really stood out. The beef tendon dish, in particular, looked and tasted great.

Overall, while not everything hit the mark (and prices felt a bit high), the main dishes were strong enough to make it a solid option for Szechuan cravings; just maybe skip the soup.“

“Never had Uyghur cuisine before, and I'm sorry I waited this long. Absolutely delicious. Ordered the samsas appetizer (one chicken, one beef). Flaky, buttery pastry goodness wrapped around well seasoned meats.
For my entree I went with the lagham noodles and they did not disappoint. The noodles were so good, I would eat a bowl of them alone. Great flavorful dish. Definitely will come back here every time I'm in town on business.“
