Chef Aoki is one of the most talented chefs in the bay, if not the world — utilizing years of skill acquired across the world from Kyoto Kaiseki with bits of French influence. Over the many years I’ve repeatedly come back, I’ve never had a bad experience. The quality of ingredients from their suppliers are top tier, and absolutely some of the best I’ve ever tasted — whether it be their house made dashi, their wagyu, uni, ikura, matsutake mushroom, their produce, their fruits, the list goes on and on and on. Yuko and shin truly are masters of their craft, and I’m grateful to experience it every time I visit.“

“Went to Udon Mugizo with my family tonight on New Year’s Eve. Our food arrived within 5-15 minutes, which was must faster than expected, especially on a holiday. The beef combo and Niku Udon didn’t have a lot of meat or vegetables. The service was incredibly good, and we even chatted with our server!“

“We went early as they opened and service was quick and straight to the point. The lady who helped was very helpful and efficient checking up on us.

The food was great and really enjoyed their sushi despite not liking seafood very much. My favorite entree from this is the Ton Katsu that includes Miso Soup, Salad and White Rice.

The atmosphere was great nothing too fancy but very authentic. The important part was it being clean and it very much was!

Highly recommend just make sure you arrive while they are open cause their hours are strict.“

“Sushi O Sushi is amazing!! We usually drop in for lunch and a couple times for dinner. We get the bento boxes with teryaki chicken, California rolls, and sashimi (tuna or salmon) the miso soup is great and the salad with that delicious dressing is perfect. We always stop here and you shoukd definitely give it a try.“

“I never review restaurants but if you are reading this, I’m really hungry right now….and just wanted to share to my food people, that Kyoto Palace Japanese Steakhouse is the best Japanese restaurant I still have ever been to and my favorite restaurant growing up as a kid… #1 miso soup and salad are just never the same anywhere else..the same chef Jose that would make roosters with the scrambled eggs still works there over 20 years later..If I had yelp or seriously reviewed restaurants I would 10/10 them for never changing a single thing about this place. “It has been awhile since I have eaten here at Tanto, and I am happy with the meal, it was delicious. We ordered the sashimi salad, grilled beef tongue, the 2 crispy rice, clams with butter sauce and the uni pasta with egg roe and the small format junmai daiginjo. We loved everything, the grilled dish was tender and seasoned to perfection, the clam soup was hot and delicious with fatty clams, the salad was fresh with chunks of sashimi. The two dishes that I am still dreaming about are 1. the crispy rice with salmon, the crispy crust contrasting with the soft rice and salmon in the middle - OMG - I'll order 2 next time; 2. The uni pasta, so creamy, seasoned to perfection and every bite I took, I wanted to take more :) ... The sake was a perfect compliment to the meal, I walked out a very happy customer 10/10“

“The BEST!!! I went for happy hour, and it was so worth it!!! On weekdays Mikiya has happy hour during lunch, and after 9pm. I can get 4 plates of high quality beef and unlimited vegetables!! The appetizer section has my fav clams and octopus. They also have good fruits and curry wagyu, and fresh squeezed orange juice. Highly highly recommend, everything is good quality good value“

Rice balls are good.. but they're missing the seaweed wrapper for some reason (compared to every other place including Clover Bakery next door) and the price is higher in exchange for more/better fillings.

“The staff were all very nice and friendly, also they made good recommendations of food. The food we had for dinner were decent. Sashimi was fresh, Kobe beef skewers were the best, Cod was thick and nicely fatty. It has the grilled rice ball which were quite good. I have been looking for good one for long time. The bluefin black meat karaage was a bit salty. As this restaurant is for grilled skewers. We will try more different types of skewers next time. Small restaurant but good use of space management. All of the tables were close but still feel good by the way they put partitions. I like the atmosphere and staff of the restaurant. For its food, I would like to try more of its specialties for more thoughts to share.“

“Got 3 types of okonomiyaki, yakisoba and curry katsu for a party of 5, more than enough food. Favorite okonomiyaki was the ebi (shrimp). Flavorful and not too heavy. The seafood one was a little too heavy with the amount of mayo added. The katsu and yakisoba we're alright. Service was good, friendly waiters! Wait on a Saturday night at 7 was around 15 min.“

“I really liked this food. While it took a bit of time for it to come out, it came out hot and fresh. I got the curry hambak, which is more or less a hamburger patty with demiglace sauce along with the curry sauce and the rice and vegetables. The taste of it all was really good. And it was also really filling. Overall very satisfying. I also like Hmart so the atmosphere was good too.“

“Service can sometimes take a while but its no big deal and doesnt happen all the time. Their food is really good! Will recommend the Kobe beef with udon noodles with garlic miso for the broth.(I love garlic) They always give you an entre of vegetables, which is so good. You have to cook all your food in the broth, and its fun and easy.“

“Hanamaru is a fantastic sushi spot. Probably the best sushi in Sunnyvale. Been going for years and years and never disappointed. I love the specialty rolls here like, Black tiger roll, Cherry blossom roll and U.F.O. roll. Chef's nigiri and sashimi are well portioned cuts of fresh fish. Usual fair like edamame and miso great too. Highly recommend!“
