“It was such a lovely venture out for my Mom’s birthday, on Friday. Alex and Dominique (management) are quite lovely, and helped make our dining experience all the more, a joy! Love the new additions to the menu, particularly the Mini Steak French Dips. The Chicken Parmesan was excellent with the twist of those ‘pepper-like sweet’ tomatoes. “We thought this was just another boring Mexican restaurant — WRONG!! We thought the food was going to be average, or worse, underwhelming… once again WRONG.

I might need to raise my criteria for 5 stars, because this place checked all the boxes and then some.

Our waitress was attentive, bubbly, and very knowledgeable, which makes an average meal way more appealing… but in this case, the food needed no help. The items we selected were exquisite, tantalizing, and just downright 🔥!

Simple Breakdown of Meal:
• Chips and guac with the mushroom choriqueso, that's a 5-star treat in itself.
• Pulpo al Pastor (octopus)… my wife said it's 🔥🔥… I wasn't brave enough to try it, but it looked amazing for the 'gram.
• Tacos de Pescado: exquisite and magnifique (I'm sure I butchered that word… but you get the drift).

And to wrap it up and put a bow on it, the atmosphere and artwork bring the whole experience together beautifully.

I ordered the chicken shawarma plate, and the chicken was so juicy and flavorful. I also tried the gyro, and everything was just amazing. The pita was warm and soft, the salad fresh and crisp, and the lamb was perfectly marinated—it literally melted in my mouth.

My wife went for the Greek salad, and she couldn’t stop talking about how refreshing and light it was. If you're in the area and in the mood for some delicious Mediterranean food, this spot is a must-visit! I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Manhattan Beach.”

The staff was so friendly and answered my questions to help me choose the perfect drink. There were a lot of people inside the coffee shop and it would be a great place to bring my laptop and work from. It's quite bright inside with a lot of natural light and plants. Highly recommend checking out Pure Bean if you're in the area.

Parking: They have metered parking in a parking structure, as well as on the street. There’s at least two parking structures in the area. I have never had a problem finding parking.”

“We stopped by Hennessey’s in downtown Manhattan Beach for a casual breakfast and really enjoyed the relaxed, neighborhood feel. The outdoor patio is spacious and great for people-watching—we sat at a high table and took in the view of people walking their dogs, heading to the beach, or grabbing coffee. It’s in such a prime spot, and the vibe was easygoing and welcoming.

The service was lovely—our server was friendly, helpful, and happy to accommodate my request to modify the avocado toast (removing bacon and egg). The toast came with potatoes and worked for a light bite, though I would’ve loved a bit more seasoning. My husband had the spinach omelet with coffee, and I got a fresh-squeezed half-orange, half-grapefruit juice that was refreshing.

They also host live music in the weekend and Monday night trivia, which I imagine brings a fun crowd in the evenings. It seems like a true local favorite. We found parking easily across the street since it was early.

If you’re in the area, it’s a nice stop to sit back, enjoy the scene, and take in the downtown energy.”

There were some seats outside, but this place was more like a take out place. Walk the beach and go to the promenade. The museum wasn't interesting.

I had the miso soup combo with a California roll. The noodle, the pork, the egg and the broth was delicious. You have to try it for yourself!

The price was perfect and I had it to go (in all honesty I should have dined in, next time). I will come back to try more of the delicious food.

Everything is prepared on site and prepared fast. There is counter seats for about a dozen people inside and picnic tables above for seating. You can see from my picture that I loved the meal. I had a tostada and my wife had enchiladas. Both were great! Highly recommend if you are in Manhattan Beach.”
