Chicken was tender, seasoned well, the chili was crispy, the red sauce was delicious. Here from AZ to hit the beach and found this place on Google. “South of Nick's, located in One Paseo, is a great restaurant with a great selection of Mexican cuisine. The delicious, not-overly-salty tortilla chips are served with beans and mild and hot salsas. I highly recommend ordering the fresh guacamole for the table to share; it's a great complement to the chips. It was difficult to choose an entree, but I went with the El Vaquero. The steak was cooked perfectly, with the enchilada being the best I've had in San Diego. It also came with filet taquitos, guac, and refried beans, all of which were wonderful. I highly recommend South of Nick's for your next dinner out, regardless of your party size.“

The fish tacos are delicious, I’m a huge fan of the carnitas tacos that are bursting with flavor. We enjoy ordering chips and beans to start and don’t forget to try the roasted Jalapeños. I shared part of the California Burrito with my brother as it has become his favorite now. It was huge and stuffed with meat. It's not a fancy place, but has delicious food and nice employees. Maritza 's offers burritos, tacos, tostadas, and more! Of the tacos, the fish taco is the star. The tenderness of the fish pairs well with the vegetable elements inside the taco, creating a good flavor balance (especially when you add a little lime). It sits well within the tortilla, crafting a well rounded taco that is enjoyable. While the carne asada taco is not nearly as strong as the fish taco, it still represents a good taco in San Diego. The carne asada is cooked well, while giving a nice smoky taste with a tender inside.

“Julio was very kind. They close at 10pm and we walked in at 9:40. He was more than happy to let us order. It was clear that he was cleaning up on a slow night. Small family business, tucked next to 7/11, and yet the best tacos I’ve had in San Diego.“

“This is a small Mexican joint tucked away at the back of the Trader Joe's area on Mira mesa Blvd. near Scripps Ranch. Entry is after the Trader Joe's entry. You cannot directly enter from any the Trader joes mall. The food was really good. We tried the bean and cheese burrito and the Al pastor tacos with chips. The salsas were amazing. Definitely worth a try.“

Con- FLIES EVERYWHERE. It was borderline infested. There were flies inside, & outside. So many that it made eating comfortably next to impossible. 🪰// My tacos came with diced tomatoes; which I was not a fan of. The Menu did not show that it came with it or I would have asked for No Pico // Bathroom had a sign that said “out of service” // The 1 and only ceiling Fan they had was broken and only worked on the lowest setting which barely spun…. Being in direct sunlight is recommend at least bring a fan or go at night.“
