“My son and I YELPED for Mexican food.Good Mexican Food, and decided to give this place a try. I had the Spicy Shrimp Plate, and my son had the Steak and Spicy Prawns. They also provide Tortilla Chips and a Salsa Bar. The guy who cooked our food, knows how to cook! My shrimp was absolutely a balance of green/red peppers, onions, in a slightly sweet, savory and mildly spicy sauce. The Rice was done just right(not dried out).The Black Beans, were tender, with just the right amount of salt. The Iceberg lettuce and sliced radish was cold, fresh and crispy— Served with a dollop of sour cream, avocado sauce; a slice of tomato and sprinkle of Mexican cheese top the salad - it did a nice job to balance the heat of the main course. Everything was well executed. The overall indoor atmosphere is very clean, simple and no frills. Love their neon menu signage. And, their prices are reasonable. Thank you for the delicious meal. We were looking for some hot food after an hour watching whales by the beach.
We found this place on Google maps and gave it a try.
$40 per person for AYCE hot pot and grill which is great price in Bay Area.
We ordered about 40 items most were good and fresh.
The lady waitress was very friendly giving us suggestions. We definitely will come back!“

“I had pretty low expectations for a sushi place attached to a La Quinta, but this place was spectacular. The fish was fresh and prepared well, the presentation was very nice, and sitting at the sushi bar was a cool experience. Service was a little slow, but they were absolutely packed with customers. It's not hard to see why. I've paid twice as much for sushi half as good. This place was excellent.“

“Ever thought of trying a local small business, family restaurant. The guy who runs this place came from Turkiye in 2008. Settled down in SFO, had a family and is living an American dream.
His only complaint is SFO is expensive. Well we can all agree to that.
Food is very tasty.
We tried falafel wrap, chicken gyro and kids gyro with rice. All of these were of great quality. Plus the Turkish delight was fabulous. Owner shared Turkish tea on the house. Plus I ordered fries in kids meal but it came with rice instead. No worries he added fries and refused to take money for it. Well I made it up in the tip.

“What a fantastic hole-in-the-wall gem we stumbled upon! We were unfamiliar with the area, and found this place was open when most other sushi places were closed, so off we went. Did not know this was a tiny 12-seat strip mall sushi restaurant, but man... it did NOT disappoint!

Everything we had from the pork gyoza, tempura, teriyaki chicken, to the sushi (chirashi don) was perfect. A+ on the fish; large cuts of very fresh sushi, and perfect sushi rice. All at amazing prices.

“The best sushi place in SF…I am a sushi lover. The fish there are so fresh and the Uni are premium. From the sashimi to the Kobe beef, everything is top. Their pricing is also very reasonable. Eric and Phoebe are very nice and provide excellent service.“

They hold a special allure when you're traveling down the byways where they still thrive, but they're especially precious when you find them in urban areas where they compete with fast-food conglomerates.

So I don't take places like Gunter's for granted, an old establishment (South San Francisco) in the midst of urban blandness of homogeneity. They're still places where old men gather swapping tall tales and spar politics over Farmer Brothers coffee brand to while their time away.

This genre seems to be a fleeting gem of Americana as I see many of them boarded up and closed down even along the blue highways. So in your travels, take a moment to patronize these places before too many of them disappear as victims of people's preference for national brands and indifference.“

My go to is the pork ban mi but most items I’ve had are good. A perf little spot after spending the day in Pacifica surf or hiking. Ps. Love that they are always blasting the jams in there!

“In The Bay, regardless of what type of cuisine, we have SO MANY options! I've probably patronized over 25 pupusarias in the last 10 years, but this joint is hands-down the absolute BEST! The pork and cheese pupusas were absolutely PERFECT! Fresh ingredients, cooked evenly where the filling was moist with bustling flavors and the outside was nice and crispy. Also ordered the enchiladas verde which, too, was spot-on.

This is for the Half Moon Bay location. My family and I are locals and have been going here since they opened. I also frequent the Pacifica location. On 09/07/20 at about 1:30 I went in to order for my family. There was a new girl I had not seen before. I speak enough Spanish to get by. Suffice to say that she was deliberately messing with me. One of the cooks came up front, supposedly to help her, and from their banter it was clear they had no interest in helping me and thought it was funny to mess with me. They even discussed charging me for extra meat when I asked for cilantro on a burrito, and laughed about it. I simply walked out. I could speculate as to why they behaved this way, but I am only sharing the facts and what I know. I do know that while I MAY go back, if I see this particular crew, I will walk right out. I have never had this problem before, but this crew thought it would be more fun to mess with me instead of doing their jobs.“

We postponed twice because of the pandemic and in the course of that time changed our venue to San Benito House. Let me tell you, that was the BEST decision we ever made. Not only is the venue itself incredibly beautiful and the food so delicious, but Kai and his staff bent over backwards for us and all of our guests. Kai is the ultimate hype guy and he took what normally would have been a stressful event to plan, and made it so easy and fun. I would (and will) recommend that anyone who is wanting a Half Moon Bay wedding, that this is the ultimate place to go. Our guests are still talking about the day and if we could, we’d do it 1000 times over just to experience the magic again. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
