“This place is pure Guatemalan awesomeness! It's just as good if not better than the original. The pan francés And pan dulce are on point, and the breakfast is amazing. If you love Guatemalan and Central American style breakfast this is the place for you. I have to warn you though, parking and seating is tough on the weekends. So be ready to park a few blocks away, and hunt for a good table once you get there.“

“I got the stonefruit toast (highly recommend, all of the flavors felt so light and everything was fresh), tomato pie, and hazelnut croissant. Everything was so tasty. Their iced latte also hit the spot.

“Don’t sleep on the Pâté Choux and curry pies!!

Friendly service and delicious variety of donuts, savory pastries (meat and curry meat pies are wonderful!), banh mi and beverages.

Came in Saturday afternoon and a fresh tray of warm pâté choux (meat pies) had just been taken out of the oven. The buttery flaky pastry encased a savory well seasoned pork filling. One pie is enough for a light lunch…at $4.50.

We got a combo of six meat and curry pies. The curry pies were amazing! Seasoned perfectly with little peas, these were my favorite.

We also had a tofu and a chicken banh mi. Good sandwiches, made with care and the pickled carrots and radishes were done well. The star of our visit were the pastries.
Will be coming back again soon. To try the sweet stuff. It was busy and service was attentive and efficient.

The store is simple, no frills and clean. One table and a counter if you’re waiting for the L and want to stop in for a quick bite.“

“I have been here many times mainly when I am craving for a doughnut or when I am in the area where I am in need of a quick bite. They have a wide selection of fresh doughnuts made daily, sandwiches, coffee, refrigerated drinks and much more. The staffs here are very welcoming, well trained and understanding where I never had encountered an issue during any of my visits. You can dine in at one of their tables or simply purchase for takeout if you decide to. I have to say this place is a plus, because there are little to none doughnut shops within the area. I highly recommend this place to all doughnut enthusiasts, if you need a quick snack for the morning of if you just so happen to be in the area. “Get the Portuguese / Hong-Kong Style Egg Tarts. It is the flagship item in the store. It tasted like a master pastry chef has been perfecting it for decades. Crust is buttery flakey and the filling hits every note on your palate. Additionally, I also got a Pineapple bun and Steam Bun with Black Sesame. I wished the bun was a little fluffier on the inside and the black sesame bun had more even distribution of the black sesame paste for the size of the bun. Service was great and hospitable on a busy Saturday morning. I look forward to trying more items from the bakery. Please make sure to bring cash for any purchase under $15 to help the business with credit card fees.“

“If you go on the weekends, the chances of scoring a freshly baked egg tart increases as there are more people picking up tarts. I like their regular egg tarts more than the Portuguese ones. The caramelized sugar top is too sweet for me. Maybe the younger folks like it more. Surprisingly, no line today at around 1pm. The buns are good here. I like their BBQ pork buns and curry buns. The bonus for me is sometimes seeing old high school friends while waiting in line.

Kings Bakery was introduced to me my daughter's abuelita Alicia S.(R.i.P.) and til this day I continue to shop for the most delicious coconut buttery bread roll to take back home for my family. The dough is very soft, moist, and spongy, quite different from your typical cupcake. Lots of delicious flavors to choose from, and they make them fresh daily. We really appreciated they are overly sweet, while the flavors still stand out. We also thoroughly enjoyed the Ube coffee we had.
