“I asked Gabby at Cake Coquette to design a two-tier Frozen-themed cake for a 5-year-old girl’s birthday party. I emailed her some samples that I found online. And she did not disappoint! The cake was a huge hit at the party. We chose Devil’s food chocolate cake with coconut cream and chocolate ganache, and the outside was fondant. I highly recommend this bakery for custom cakes.“

I was a bit surprised at the blueberry muffin because they used whole wheat flour, which is healthy, but there's a reason most people don't use whole wheat flour for muffins. And they have to offset that with so much sugar that it made my teeth hurt.

But the ham and cheese sandwich was awesome. The sweetness of the bread was perfectly juxtaposed with the tanginess of the cornishons and Dijon to give it just the right balance of flavors.“

“My favorite neighborhood bagel & breakfast stop. I always get their lox bagel sandwich and love that there are so many bagel flavors to choose from. The employees are so nice too. We love to stop here on our weekend morning walks, grab a bagel sandwich to go to eat at the tables across the street at Noe Valley Town Square.“

Shatteringly-crisp Laminated Doughs, the absolute softest, cloud-like Focaccia, quality deep, dark chocolate (Pain au Chocolat/ Brioche Suisse), and a Baguette with just the right amount of whole grain to give pleasant chew and a glossy crumb. (The hint of cinnamon in the Pain aux Raisins is absolutely brilliant.)

If you're in Millbrae, make sure to put Ponyo on your to go-list! Ponyo has an amazing selection of Asian foods. From masubi, ramen, coconut pudding, probiotic drinks, sparkling waters, crackers, seafood snacks, chips, desserts, samplers (at the counter), and to the best part, trending snacks you would see all over social media!! One of the trending snacks are Melo Melo, but the newest item I've seen today (date of this review) at Ponyo, is the trending Tao Qi Peach ice cream (photo).

Though, one suggestion I would make for customers, is to bring your own bag, since the bags provided are cheaply made and have paper cut-like handles. My friends and passerby's also complained that the bag handles were too sharp and thought, oh, it's not just me. To the boss of Ponyo, as good service, please provide better bags for your customers. In addition, the place is a little cramped and warm, so strollers or wheelchairs would not fit well.

Overall, the snacks that Ponyo provides are good for people who are fans of something (e.g. Hello Kitty), have dietary restrictions like vegans (e.g. Melo Melo), and great when on dates. Come check it out!! ?

The green onion sponge cake and the HK milk tea were top notch. The sweetness and sponginess of the cake plus the ham and green onion were great contrast. The milk tea was strong in tea flavor and though a bit too sweet, they added a bit more tea for me. The egg tart though was not great. The pastry was flaky but very dense and heavy.“
