“If you guys want affordable great food, this is the place to go. As a student, it’s difficult to find food that’s within a reasonable budget due to all other expenses, but this place honestly takes the cherry on top. Every time I’ve come to eat here it’s been great experience for me and not to mention the food is simply AMAZING.
To me, this is my go to Pho place every time I am around Pasadena or if I am going to PCC. Overall, all their food I’ve tried so far (and I’ve tried a lot from their menu) has not disappointed me.
Please give it a try, I am sure you’ll love it just as much!“

“I happened to see one of these on the way to my hotel and it reminded me of the shops they had in Sac. Grabbed a grilled pork bahn mi for lunch with some egg rolls to share. Added a well done egg and loved it. All their sandwiches are really good. I will return if in the area for sure. Great food for a great price“

“Had combo pho and shrimp spring rolls. Both were tasty and filling. Good portion. Reasonable price for nowadays and in Pasadena. The place was crowded and had the slightly noisy conversation vibe going on. Very popular and I now know why. The restaurant only seats about 40, service was fast and staff were polite.“

“There was a short queue but well worth the wait. The Banh Xeo (pancake) was fantastic - crispy egg crepe, flavourful pork, prawns and bean shoots inside, served with fresh lettuce, mint, picked carrots and dipping sauce. The tangy and savoury combination was beautifully balanced.
Service was very friendly and helpful. Seats were allocated on a first come, first serve basis so I was initially given a table for 4 and later asked to move to a more suitably sized table, which was more logical. Portions are generous here. I waddled out with food coma and a good intention of returning.“

“You cannot go wrong here. Everything on the menu slaps to a superb degree. My favs are the popcorm chicken, the limeade spritzer, and the tofu banh mi (with a side of peanut sauce). Chef Uyen is a very dope human who has built a beautiful business model around delicious Vietnamese home cooking and community mutual aid. We freakin love Be U!“

“I saw the review from Lan Hoàng, and I have to speak up—because I was there that day, having lunch with my mom. And frankly, her version of the story is completely misleading.
She made a scene over the rice paper—complaining that 8 pieces for $2 was “too expensive” and demanding 12 pieces for $3. The prices were clearly printed on the menu. Then she loudly announced she could buy rice paper cheaper at the supermarket and bring it in herself. Seriously? That’s not how restaurants work.
Her voice was so loud that everyone nearby could hear her ranting, ruining the dining experience for others. The manager, to his credit, remained calm, professional, and stood his ground. He told her—rightfully so—that the price is $2 for 8 pieces, no exceptions.
Then she goes online and has the nerve to say the manager “lacks manners”? That’s laughable. If anyone was disrespectful, it was her. She should take a long, hard look in the mirror before she dares to judge someone else.
If I were the manager, I wouldn’t serve her again. Period. People like that come in with entitlement, create drama over one dollar, and then try to trash hardworking staff online when they don’t get their way. It’s not okay.
I will say this—the Bánh xèo was absolutely delicious. And that’s the only thing she got right.“

“It's easily the best Banh Mi joint in all of SoCal. This place tops them all. The attention to detail is superb. They come individually packaged in a box, sauce, and veggies on the side to keep the sandwich crisp. Bread made in house, probably, based on the way the bread has irregular edges and the overall quality. Bread is soft and light in the middle and extra crispy on the outside. The best sandwich here is the Roasted Pork. Listen, there's the usual dry roasted pork you get from those roasted duck houses, and then there's this. All you foodies know what im talking about. This roast is simply done right. It's crispy and light skin around soft juicy meat and fat. No hard glass shards breaking off a over done wet roasted pork belly here. It's roasted to perfection. You know it's cooked at a perfect 165 to retain the juices. The chef really really knows what he/she is doing. Don't expect all meat and no fat. It's not a bourgeois place. And dont expect a 12 dollar rip off. It's not that either. It's a wholesome mom and pop join that service fair priced $7.50 specialty sandwiches that you can't even compare to quality in Vietnam's best joint. Come here with confidence, it's simply the best Banh Mi in all of Southern California. I'm willing to bet the best for its price in all of the US and Vietnam combined. Go try it and you will definitely agree. I challenge anyone to prove me wrong.“

“No frills, just perfect bread and fillings. The baguette crackles, the pickled veggies are crisp, and the grilled pork is marinated with a little sweetness. I always add a pandan waffle to go—still warm, slightly chewy. Parking in the small lot can be hectic, but turnover is quick. It’s a reliable lunch that never disappoints“

“This is hands down my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in SGV. I’ve lived here for 25 years, and this place has been my go-to for a long time. The food is always fresh and delicious, and the restaurant is super clean. I always get the dry vermicelli — the lemongrass beef is packed with flavor, and the shrimp rolls are crispy and so good. They’ve got a nice variety of beers too, which makes it a fun spot to hang out with friends. The owners are always around, super friendly, and you can tell they really care about keeping the place in great shape.“

“Nem Nướng Khánh Hoà is widely praised for its authentic Vietnamese cuisine and warm atmosphere. The restaurant’s specialty is nem nuong cuon, a dish of grilled pork meatballs wrapped in rice paper and served with fresh herbs and vegetables. “Love their duck salad! I've never had duck cooked this way before and it's delicious. They have this awesome deal... if you buy the half duck salad, get a bowl of noodles with it free! But it's dine in only.
Been here 2x now and definitely would come back. I want to give food 4.5 stars only bc the Thai tea I had was barely sweet. Didn't love it.“

“Not sure why I haven't left a review for this spot yet l've been here a bunch of times already. They open pretty early, so it's a solid place to grab pho or other Vietnamese eats in the morning.
I usually go for the pho dac biet, but l've also tried the hu tieu and the banh mi xiu mai, which were both pretty decent. Lately, l've been especially into their pho the broth tastes lighter and cleaner (less oily), which I really like.
They also do a great job with their takeout game everything is packed well. Prices are reasonable too, which is probably why I keep coming back. Whenever I'm around El Monte these days, this is my go-to lunch spot.“

“I love pho. This pho is good. Also, for no reason they have amazing rice dishes and freshly made banh mi - way to go K5!
One time I walked in and witnessed a woman whose only objective in life was to sing one song for Pho enthusiasts. Nobody stopped her. She finished and just walked away. This staff is dedicated to serving you food, nothing will deter them from this goal.“

“When I first arrived to this restaurant, I didn’t see any other diners and was quite hesitant. But soon enough they proved my ‘pre-thoughts’ wrong.
Definitely one of the best Vietnamese home cooked meals at a restaurant in the area. The flavour is so authentic that can transport you back to the Southern of Vietnam (mien Tay) in a bite. We ordered the lunch set for family and cannot fault a thing. It came with canh chua, ca chien, goi tom thit, ca kho, bap cai chua. Flavour was mouth watering and all very good value for money. This is such a hidden gem. Highly recommend!“

“Viet Noodle Bar in Glendale is more than just a restaurant; it’s a staple, an institution, a place that has quietly but consistently delivered some of the best Vietnamese food in the area for years. It’s not about flash or trends—just solid, comforting bowls of noodles, fragrant broths, and fresh ingredients that keep locals coming back.
The atmosphere is unpretentious and welcoming, the kind of place where regulars nod at each other over steaming bowls of phở or turmeric-laced bánh mì chao. Service is straightforward and efficient, with no unnecessary frills—just good food brought out quickly and done right. The menu is focused but refined, emphasizing quality over quantity. Their signature dishes, particularly the noodle soups and rice bowls, showcase a balance of flavors that feel both traditional and refreshingly light.
Despite Glendale’s ever-evolving dining scene, Viet Noodle Bar has held its own, serving as a dependable go-to for those who want a satisfying meal without the fuss. It’s the kind of place that doesn’t need hype—it just exists, quietly excelling, and that’s what makes it essential.“

“A Hidden Gem for Vietnamese Comfort Food!
I had an incredible dining experience at this Vietnamese restaurant. The standout dish was their beef stew pho, which was absolutely unforgettable. The broth was rich, flavorful, and deeply comforting—unlike any pho I’ve had before. It had a unique blend of spices that gave it a slightly sweet, aromatic depth, and the beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender. What made it even better? It came with a warm, soft baguette on the side—perfect for dipping into the broth. So simple, but such a game changer.
I also tried their vermicelli special, and it did not disappoint. It came beautifully arranged with grilled meats, fresh herbs, and crispy spring rolls—all bursting with flavor and texture. Every bite was balanced and satisfying.
If you’re looking for authentic Vietnamese flavors with a creative twist, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back!“

“Recently opened its door in the Temple City, Kim Hoa Hue Restaurant is the new culinary destination for Vietnamese cuisine lovers. Having moved to Temple City, it stands proudly across from Summer Roll, inviting diners to embark on a gastronomic journey to Vietnam’s former imperial capital.
The restaurant’s specialty, Bun Bo Hue, is a testament to the authentic flavors of Huế. This Vietnamese beef noodle soup, known for its spicy and robust taste, is served in a generous portion brimming with succulent meat. The rich and aromatic broth leaves a lingering warmth that is both comforting and invigorating.
For those eager to explore the breadth of Huế’s culinary landscape, the Hue Combo is a must-try. This dish is a culinary mosaic, showcasing the region’s famous noodle-based delights. It’s an ideal choice for newcomers and connoisseurs alike, offering a sample platter of Huế’s pride.
While the Bun didn’t quite meet expectations, it holds promise. A tweak in noodle texture to achieve that coveted al dente bite, paired with a more traditional Vietnamese egg roll, could elevate this dish to new heights.
The Pho presents a soulful broth that sings with depth and clarity. However, the noodles yearn for a bit more finesse to match the soup’s excellence.
Service at Kim Hoa Hue is attentive and earnest, although a broader grasp of English would enhance the overall experience. For now, Google Translate bridges the communication gap, adding a touch of modernity to the dining experience.
The ambiance is as fresh as the flavors, with a bright and contemporary setting that promises growth and refinement. Kim Hoa Hue Restaurant is a welcome addition to the neighborhood, offering a slice of Huế’s regal cuisine with every dish. With a few culinary tweaks, this establishment is poised to become a cornerstone of the local food scene.“
