“This is definitely a 7-8 out of 10. A huge shoutout for keeping prices low! The taste was good. The workers are all very friendly. The food comes out fast. If you want better Pho, you'll have to check out some neighboring places. If you happen to be in Baldwin Park, this will work.“
“I decided to check out this place on a Friday afternoon since it was rainy and chilly. I tried the large sliced steak and brisket pho. The large pho can easily feed two people. My pho was delicious and made with fresh ingredients. Service was pretty good and I received my food really quickly. Define you will come back to try other items.“
“A bit pricey, but it's an excellent Pho restaurant. Food are really delicious ? Parking might be difficult. Tiny plaza with narrow parking spaces. But people come and go quickly... I took out 1 ⭐ for their parkings. Really hate their parking.“
“This is a hole in the wall. The sauces this places produces is pack with flavor. These bold flavors come in different variations of heat mild is ok the hot one is spicy but enjoyable and extra hot you better be ready to guzzle water. You can taste the difference in the spices the owner Nam uses he takes pride in his work and the taste is there. No wait unlike the big name places, but their food speaks volumes. This place holds true to great food from a family business. This place has won this foodie over. Hidden Gem in Covina there are a few of these places and this is one of them. Glad to have stumbled upon it. Glad I didn't listen to the 1 bad review.“
“This is an INCREDIBLE place! I love the beef noodles, eggplants, tofu, the fish, the chicken, the desert, etc!! We had a blast eating, hanging out, chatting, and the food added so many enjoyable layers to our conversations on Oscars, filmmaking, art, and beyond! THANK YOU ALL for making our afternoon and evening and giving us energy to keep going and pursuing our dreams???☀️?Kid-friendliness: Very friendly!;)“
“This is where my mom would get banh mis for us when I was little and I just recently re-discovered them! The #1 Thit Nguoi or cold cuts is my version of THEE traditional banh mi. There's no where else you need to go. The fresh bread is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. When you order, you can choose from the football shape or the baguette shaped bread. Scratch pate, cold cuts, daikon, carrots, cilantro, and thinly shaved jalapeños. Service is straightforward and fast! Corner store vibes but Vietnamese :) Parking is also plentiful. Ugh my heart is so happy!!“
“Always making great tasting food. I love this place. They also have great lunch prices during lunch up to 3:45 pm. Grab a few boxes for family dinner?everyone loves the variety of food. Help support great restaurant Rosemead, Temple city area. So happy when they moved from Valley Blvd and San Gabriel to their new location on Rosemead Blvd and Lower Azusa Rd in Rosemead. I had to give them a shout out.“
“I love this place. I've been going since I was a little kid (that was 20+ years ago). The staff and service is always so friendly and attentive. I love their Bún Chả Giò Chay. It's my regular order! They have a solid selection of Vegan Vietnamese food and very affordable prices. If you're looking for real Vietnamese Vegan food, this is the spot!“
“I’ve been to Pho Anvi three times now, and each time has been excellent! I highly recommend the Pho Anvi and the lemonade iced tea! There are also fantastic vegetarian and vegan options.Dietary restrictions: Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options!“
“Love this place! Best Banh Xeo around with a uniquely crunchy outer shell and the most beautiful assortment of perfectly fresh and delicious greens. Costs more, but it's definitely worth it. The atmosphere is exactly as it should be... you know you're paying for tasty, authentic food, not fancy decor. Will definitely be back!“
“Wait for a table was fine, didn't take that long. The interior was very nice and clean. Food was yummy. Only complaint that I have is that all of the food didnt arrive at the same time. One person in my group got the pho and got it by the time most of us were almost done eating.Parking: Even though it's free parking for the lot, it's really small. I recommend parking in the street and walking over to save time.“
“Tay Ho in San Gabriel impressed with their Banh Cuon Set - classic steamed rice crepes with delicious fillings like pork & mushroom rolls and crispy shrimp fritters. Their grilled meat sets are similar, featuring BBQ pork or grilled ham. The lemongrass chicken in Bun was flavorful and refreshing. They also offer unique drinks like Pandan Coffee and delicious Che Ba Mau desserts. Great spot for quick, authentic Vietnamese food!“
“I have a new favorite Vietnam place :D the server is super cool :D the food is just so tasty :D I love it I will come back, yes :DDelicious food, excellent service :D I recommend it without a doubt, it is an excellence :D tasty :D and delicious and I want more :D“
“This place has great food and is in a great location, I was promptly greeted and offered a table upon arrival, the guy taking our order was friendly and informative about the menu, unfortunately they lost one star because the lack of cleanliness in the restroom ? and restaurant was not clean and inviting.Dietary restrictions: They offered accommodations base on your diet restrictions“
“Always such a great meal here. Duck soup is hard to come by and this place always delivers. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable about their craft. My family goes here at least once a week! Highly recommended. Their portion is big and price is good too!“
“Huong Bac is a quintessential "hole-in-the-wall" eatery that surpassed our expectations during a recent out-of-state visit. Craving authentic Banh Cuon led us to this hidden gem.Despite our late arrival—merely 15 minutes before closing time— the lady welcomed us with open arms, allowing us to place our order. We opted for the #9 Banh Cuon Dac Biet and #12 Bun Rieu, eagerly anticipating our meal in the cozy ambiance of the small dining area. The kitchen was bustling, with the gentleman wrapping what seemed to be freshly made Gio Lua.The aroma of sweet and sour fish sauce wafted through the air, a hallmark of genuine Vietnamese cuisine. The wait was about 20 minutes, as the lady needed to boil water anew for our noodles and steam the Banh Cuon. She apologized for the delay, though we insisted it was our oversight for arriving late.Tasting the Banh Cuon at our hotel room was revelatory. The rice rolls were thin, the batter didn't make the banh cuon "cakey" nor runny, it maintains a delightful stretchiness. The seasoning of the meat and mushrooms was spot-on, with the addition of meat floss and fried onions enhancing the aroma. The Gio Lua boasted a pleasant chewiness without being mushy. However, the real standout was the house-made sweet and sour chili fish sauce—a masterful blend that added an explosive burst of sweet, tangy, and spicy flavors that I fell in love with their banh cuon instantly. As I'm writing this, I haven't had the chance to try the Bun Rieu yet because I was eager to share my exceptional experience with the Banh Cuon. It was so memorable that I felt compelled to write this review immediately. If I ever return to the area, Huong Bac will definitely be on my must-visit list!“
“This place is the bomb!! Will be my togo place for a bowl of delicious SeaFood Wonton Noodle. The noodles were chewy, fresh perfectly cooked. The seafood and wonton were perfectly prepared and tasty. Have to give the wonton a perfect 10. We also had their Hai Nam chicken rice, which was also delicious. The place is so clean, servers were super attentive. This place beats Kim Ky by a mile. Will definitely come back.“
“The best pho in town ! They fill up your water constantly that's a big plus for me and it's fresh cold water. The pho was perfect the taste the amount if broth and meat, I recommend you coming here if you are craving that perfect bowl of pho“
“This unassuming restaurant in the entrance of a supermarket is a hidden gem. Found it looking for Bo Luc Lac in the LA area and found it via Instagram review than made me want to drive all the way from Long Beach and I was not disappointed, as they serve one of the better Luc Lac, tender and well balanced on sauce and pepper. Their medium is more well done than medium so adapt your request based on that. The rest of the dishes are also very well executed, fresh and flavorful. The service is efficient and friendly while attentive.Well worth a trip if you Are not close, you will not be disappointed.Parking: Parking is busy“
“I loved this place! They forgot to put tofu in the spring rolls but no matter, they were delicious. The soup broth was a little bland. I added some soy sauce which helped. The topping of fresh mint, bean sprouts, etc. made this meal refreshing. Updated from previous review on 2023-10-24“
“My go to spot for 7 courses of beef and baked cat fish. Here's why:- Great value for a larger group (Last visit medium catfish, 4 portions of 7 courses of beef, and a couple of beers was less than $40/pp including tip)- I always leave full and satisfied- It's usually not crazy busy and they have a good amount of tables ( Last visit walked in on a Saturday night for 7 and there was no wait)- Staff is pretty friendly- 10% off with Yelp check-in for birthday celebrations- A handful of TVs if you need to have the game on while dining- They only charge extra for vermicelli and not for extra rice paper or veggiesTips:- It's been mentioned but call ~45 mins in advanced for the baked catfish so it'll be ready for when you show up- There are three main dipping sauces; super funky fermented fish, more mild fish sauce, slightly tart tamarind sauce. You can mix to your level of desired funk but the peanuts, sambal, pickled lemon grass helps temper everything- It's super hands on food, don't be afraid to ask for help if you didn't come with an experienced diner“
“They are really nice here. The young female cashier is very precise and the food is made with love and skill. Plus the hot chili crisp oil they sell is sooo good. The Batch X will make you cry and I love it. Looking forward to trying everything on the menu!“
“What I can say about the food is that I like to follow my taste buds. My taste buds says it was very flavorful and the quality felt and tasted top notch. it was also quite plentyful. As for the service, they were very eager to serve us. We were not ignored and they were very kind. As for the atmosphere, it is a bit quiet. if that's what you like then you'll love this place. if you prefer music in the background then you may want to try elsewhere. I like this place because it wasn't noisy and it took away a lot of the anxieties from most restaurants that I experienced. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes Vietnamese food and enjoys the friendly employees. Why did I give four star for flavor? I do this normally because I do believe that there's always room for improvement. Even with the best tasting food in the world. There's always room for improvement.Vegetarian options: I think there's plenty vegetarian/vegan choices.Parking: Vertical parking all around the restaurant from the street“
“When craving for some bun and rolls, this is a great place to be. I like their open-air seating arrangements when dining here. I always order Charbroiled Lemongrass Beef w / Shrimp Egg Rolls, hits the spot for me. Portion wise it’s really good. Their Summer Rolls are also filling, but on the pricier side.“
“We have been coming here for years and it has never changed. Been just as great and the first visit. Every item on the menu is good and the portions are big. This is a must visit and try new items on the menu until you have found your favorite.“
“2nd time here. The tendon is not chewy at all. Soft and flavorful. The broth has great flavor too. I have had great service both times. I think this is my new favorite spot.I do wish they would give 2 containers for the togo though. I have to ask for 2. Saving soup with everything together is not my favorite“
“Small, hole-in-the-wall place.Service is pretty fast considering there's only a couple people serving. This place's charbroiled meats are so good! Their vermicelli bowls and rice plates always hit the spot and the sides of egg and pork loaf and shrimp paste wrapped in tofu are tasty as well. You do not need the sweet fish sauce because everything is so flavorful by itself, but it's definitely a nice addition! However, I don't necessarily care for the soups here. Their pho broth is a little bland and imitation crab meat in the seafood soup someone in my party ordered was still cold in the middle.“
“We stopped in 30 min before they closed. I was skeptical about the quality of the food to be ordered. However, everything turned out great and tasted fantastic, just like homemade. The servers were really patient and kind regardless of the fact that they were about to close for the day. In some other places, I would have the feeling that I am being rushed to order, to finish my meal and to pay. However, not at this place.“
“Enjoyed the pho and bahn mi. Spring rolls were large and tasty too. Not the best Vietnamese I’ve had, but good. The shop seems like it’s run by a bunch of Vietnamese grandmas so you do have kind of a home style/mom and pop vibe. I would say if the food were ~$4 cheaper it would be better value.“
“Wow! This small restaurant is packed of flavors! The atmosphere is inviting and charming. Our waiter was attentive, quick and efficient. The wait for food did not take long at all. I love that the menu was simple. There are rice plate, noodle and appetizers options. We had the Banh xeo. The plate came with 3 crispy mini Banh Xeo and served with a plate of fresh greens for wrapping. The noodles were bomb! The bun mam was so tasty. The broth had a hint of sweetness and a fermented fish taste. I love the pepper stuffed with Cha. Oh and the veggies that is served with the bun nam have a crunch to every bite. The pho was surprisingly good too. The broth was rich and flavorful. However, I do wish they serve the nuoc beo - onion oil. The rice plate was decent too. The flavor of the grilled meat was yummy. I would definitely come back here again! Try the bun mam!!“
“This little Vietnamese joint is a real gem. Their banh mi xiu mai is my fav - imagine soft bread hugging tasty meatballs with a burst of flavors in every bite. Plus, everything else on their menu is just as good. The vibe is cozy, the staff is friendly - it's the perfect spot for a tasty meal that hits the spot.“
“I was skeptical to try to this place because it looks too modern. Sounds silly, but I usually like hole-in-the-wall places for "foreign" food because I have found that those places tend to have more authentic dishes. However, I have been to so many pho places around here and I can say that this one has a very tasty pho. The broth was very flavorful (the last place I tried had ok/good pho but I mentioned in my review that the broth there was lacking some in flavor). Also, I like tripe as a meat topping (which isn't as popular around here) and I don't always find the right meat combos that I like on other pho restaurant menus and the combo with all meats has some meats that I don't prefer. I like that here they have a two-item meat option and I can pick the two meats I really want. There is also a meatless and a vegan option with vegetable broth.Would definitely go back to try other menu items!“
“We always order the crispy egg rolls, shrimp spring rolls and pho with brisket and filet mignon. The peanut sauce is the perfect compliment to the spring rolls as is the sweet sauce to the egg rolls. The pho, with the added vegetables, is so filling and relaxing. This has been a family favorite for about 5 years now.“
“Whenever I'm in the area and don't feel like driving all the way to garden grove/westminister Pho Rowland hits the spot. Service is quick and friendly. Restaurant is usually busy but turnaround is quick. Food is delicious and satisfying. Only thing I would improve on is the fish sauce. Wish it had some more chili and garlic kick to it. Pho comes in large orders only!!“
“Still scratching my noodles itch, I found my self at Quan Nem for Vietnamese pho. For the first time I saw an option for the fresh noodles. I opted for fresh and was glad I did. Fresh noodles are an extra tasty feature that goes with the very flavorful broth. I opted forThe spicy beef and oxtail soup. The fresh noodles were yummy and the bowl is huge. Vietnamese coffee and shrimp spring rolls rounded out my meal. Although a bit pricier than other pho shops, again huge portions.Yum“
“Hole on the wall type restaurant with basic Vietnamese food, customer service was not the greatest but that was to be expected from this kind of place. Food was tasty and great without frills. Had the cơm phần 2 người with chè 3 màu.“
“One word, "excellent pho." The pho tastes so delicious here. Service here are friendly and comfortable. My favorite dishes are Pho Kobe and BBQ Pork with steamed broken rice. Most dishes are good. Lastly, desserts here are also good and include the coffee. They also welcome feedback :)“
“Takes a little effort to get to know the server to get good service. Maybe it was because we ordered everything for 4 people. The pho tai and dac biet were not pictured but the rest was good. Best was the jackfruit salad. I asked for the fermented shrimp sauce and she was kind enough to give me some.“
“Just had their pho again and it's delicious. The service was fast and attentive. He did a great job considering he's the only server this morning. The place is super clean and that's a plus. A little high for a pho place but, it's so worth it. If you're looking for a good clean broth and delicious pho, this is the place for it... doesn't matter the cost.“
“So tasty and generous with the portions. Love the fresh veggies in the bun. (Tastier grilled pork than golden deli temple city) Nice ladies. Make sure to say thank you, they work hard to make this delicious food! ? Could use more ambience but hey the food is great.“
“I have been coming here with my family since I was little and the food never disappoints. They have a small parking lot and the restaurant can get pretty busy sometimes so I always park on the street around the corner. I got the beef ball noodle soup and it was so good. Their soup is always so good and flavorful.“
“I have been Vietnam and had Pho from the north and the south. Vietnam is a long country and occupies the east coast of Southern Asia. Northern pho known as pho “bac” which translates to north. It’s more simple there, just beef soup with the essential 5 spice seasoning and tender sliced beef with fresh ginger. Southern pho has the “dac biet” which translates to special. Southern pho is packed with sliced beef rounds, and a variety of parts from the cow. This includes tripe, tendon, brisket, and beef balls, no fresh ginger. Portions in Vietnam are much smaller than the states and cost almost half.Pho Hai has both, the Pho Bac and the Pho Dac Biet. But, what makes it even more special is they have sliced Kobe beef as an add on to their pho. OMG! Their Kobe is thick sliced, just enough marbling and just melts in my mouth. The bowls are enormous and can actually feed 2 person. It’s loaded with lots of meat, almost every bite has meat and noodles. They serve their pho with fresh Basil, herbs, bean sprouts, fresh cut jalapeño and slice of lemon. The heart of a good Pho is the base of their soup, they use beef bones cooked for hours to extract all the beefy flavor of the broth. When consuming pho, the first thing I do is to take a spoon and taste the broth before I go in for the kill. This is when you know you will enjoy the rest of your meal Or you know you will have dry mouth later from all the MSG. Many pho establishments skimp on using a lot of beef bones for the soup. Instead, they use MSG-mono sodium glutamate as a cheat. I never had a bad experience with Pho Hai, their soup is always on point. They have a few secret items that is not on their menu, my favorite is the beef bone with beef marrow. This item is only available after 2pm and on a limited basis. It comes in a giant plate with a knife and fork, lots of meat and tendon is still stuck on the bone. The bonus is the bone marrow, it’s rich and savory. Also provide is a home made roasted chili sauce, dip the tendon or meat in and life is great.“
“If you're looking for delicious sushi and pho in Whittier, Pho & Roll is the place to go! The Crunch Roll is a must try but their other sushi rolls are just as tasty. If you're in the mood for something warm and comforting, the beef pho is a great choice. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Highly recommend!“
“Recently tried this spot being in the area an wanting a taste of some fresh food. I highly recommend this spot as you do get what you pay for the food is delicious freshly made, you can taste the flavors put into there food absolutely found my new spot.“
“Phenomenal vietnamese sandwiches. The pate is delicious and what also helps perfect the sandwich. Service is great. The only thing that would make it better is if they had tables to sit and eat right there. Regardless it's my go-to for banh mi sandwiches.“
“Would not have stopped but that I saw, lettered neatly on the sidewalk chalkboard, "Vietnamese Crepe" , and seeing as it's not so easy to find Bánh xèo, and I like it, so I sallied forth. I was courteously welcomed and quickly seated and I ordered the Bánh xèo. It was delicious and I enjoyed it tremendously. I was most impressed with the many dishes described on the menu and I hope that I will have the opportunity to eat here a few more times.“
“The food is great, very tasty... Services are very friendly, but you have to be super clear on your order, and they are still not getting it right. The place is cleand, they don't have a waiting line which I love it, they don't make you feel rushing for leaving the table for someone else. So far, I have been there 3 times.“
“Nice and chill spot to go for a lunch break. I've come here a few times and there staff here are really nice. Usually, just find an open seat when you walk in. The food is here is good I personally like the Vermicelli bowls when I would come eat for lunch. Food comes out pretty quick and usually it's not to busy so it's a good restaurant to come in and chill and have good bite of Vietnamese food.“
“We found this spot by accident. Our regular place was closed. Not a fancy place at all. And to be honest does not smell the greatest. But it gets a hi star here so we have it a try. There is a sense of authenticity about this place. It feels like almost as if you are at Saigon by itself. Would be great movie set including the staff working there. FOOD : smells great ( unlike the restaurant itself ) Good portion .it was delicious. Made to order . Overall we liked the quality of the foods as well as quantity of it . I'd eat there again.“
“Plenty of seats. Clean tables. Plenty of condiments. Decent prices. Floor is kinda dirty. Lighting is a bit dark. Non gender neutral restrooms. Semi clean. I ordered the boon bye hwei and it was surprisingly good... the noodles were perfect, plenty of meat, NOT watered down soup. My only concern is that it wasn't temperature hot. Overall, i would definitely recommend this place.“
