“After many visits over the years, this was the best ever! The oxtail dumplings are to die for, as was the peach & tomato salad. Duck breast was as good as any- perfectly cooked. I only order crostata’s when in LA as nobody else can make them this good. Maybe wasn’t quite as great as their old sister restaurant, Santa Monica Yacht Club, but was close. Also have to mention the service, we remembered our waiter from years ago as he was also outstanding.“

“I came across Playa Provisions when in town for business. It was a short Uber from the airport, so I figured I'd give it a try. This place is an absolute gem! It is a unique setup that has everything you'd possibly need from morning until late at night: Cafe in the front for coffee and fresh baked good, as well as full breakfast menu. Later in the heat of the afternoon, take a break from the beach (right across the street) and enjoy hand scooped specialty ice cream cones and shakes. Oh look, it's dinner time... and Playa Provisions opens their dining room and bar, some of the best, most relaxed ambience you'll find for miles around. But don't let the casual setting fool you, this is some incredible, elevated cuisine. Chef owners Nick and Brooke (who you might recognize) crafted a menu that's I've been eating my way through, and have yet to find a dish that's not delicious. You've been eating and drinking all day, and are exhausted? Don't leave yet! Wander into the back 'secret' whiskey bar, (Grain Whiskey Bar) and enjoy hand crafted cocktails from award winning bartenders (no, literally), in a gorgeous wood laden atmosphere. I consider myself a foodie, and try as many different restaurants and cuisines as I can. And yet, Playa Provisions remains my favorite restaurant in LA (and that's saying something, considering the amazing places in LA). Run, don't walk, to Playa Provisions. You'll thank me.“

“Such a wonderful dinner in an unassuming spot. The restaurant was busy, but we still felt like we had an intimate dinner. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, omnivore friendly. Andrew, our server has obviously been in this business a long time. He really added to the upscale experience, helping us through the menu and even being kind and patient with the children at the table. Great place for out-of-town guests that want a guaranteed wonderful meal.

Kid-friendliness: Might not be the best place for young children for dinner, but I think for tweens and teens for sure it’s great.“

“We made a reservation for dinner at sunset and it did not disappoint. But let's talk food....absolutely amazing. The filet was melt in your mouth delicious. The hands cut fries were awesome as was the pizza. Service was great. Would definitely go there again when in the area. “We had a spectacular meal last night and our server Allison went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. She recommended the Lobster sliders to start and a wonder white wine which we enjoyed throughout the meal. She spaced out each course so we had some time to savor the unique and wonderful flavors which we so appreciated. The albacore cerviche was one of the best cerviche I have ever had anywhere. And the boar ragu pasta was divine. But the Tikka Massala Chicken was the most delicious presentation of chicken imaginable. We also loved the desert Allison suggested which was an unusual take on peanut butter and whipped cream and fresh berries. Just a delightful way to end the perfect night. Can't wait to return and try more of their innovative dishes.“

The red onion focaccia bread with herb and Parmesan butter, added Burrata - best- seller, a must. The 3 day brined smoked fried chicken-different taste, with soy and Chiles, a must!!!The Peruvian pork belly with sweet potato , Criolla and crispy quinoa , love it! And the Grilled NY steak with green garlic chimichurri, chorizo aioli and pommes pont neuf, thick cut fries…my son prefers over the fried chicken.“

“I have dined at Meteora many times before and it's usually been excellent however the night that we went, the timing of the courses was notably off and delayed. The couple next to us got there right before and another couple 2 tables down got there after us and they were both 2 entire courses ahead of us. The entire meal lasted 3 hours due to this. There was plenty of staff - we saw staff constantly circulating so I have no idea what happened. When I said something, they were apologetic and offered us more drinks on the house, which I did appreciate, however, I really wasn't planning on such a long dining experience and disliked that we were essentially forgotten for the first half of our time there.“

“As a New Yorker, my standards for breakfast & brunch are high. I’m so glad I came here! There’s a freshness about the atmosphere and the food selection is unique and tasty.
I got the curry with bokchoi and we had fried for the table.
They had matcha, which went perfectly with the creamy-with-a-kick meal. 🥰I wish I had 2 stomachs so I didn’t have to leave a bite uneaten, but I could only get through have of this lovely meal.
Absolutely will be revisiting when I’m back in the West Coast.🫶🏾“

“The chef's restaurant is upscale but cozy, with only 5 tables, all across from the open air kitchen. The chef and waiter collaborate to serve you each dish, telling you the ingredients that go into each dish... like little stories. Such a special experience!“

“This place is a 10/10 I came early with my aunt and we had a beermosa and then I had a strawberry mimosa. The place is beautiful and there’s different vibes in every corner and room of this place. Great drink selection, happy hour is great price and yummy bites.
Strongly recommend!

“Wonderful experience last night at Akasha. We got humnus. It came with veggies which I’ve never tried before but surprisingly it was delicious.

We also got the wings, pizza and Wagyu burger. And for desert we got the vegan brownie with ice cream. I did try the steak but the cut wasn’t my preferred type.

But I give them 5 stars because the customer service when I didn’t like the cut was top notch.

Our server was kind, gracious and attentive.

The hostesses were courteous and personable. Definitely recommend.“

Only thing that sucked was finding parking, but we’re not from town, so parking could just be normal for locals?

Overall, you gotta try this place. The Vicky’s Breakfast is well balanced, the Pastrami was cooked perfectly and the roasted tomato and herb salad pairs with it so well to cut through that fat. The mushrooms were a sleeper in that plate ?‍? it was delicious! The chicken and waffles were great too, batter was light and crispy.“

“Asked the male server if we could sit at a table that had yet to be cleaned. To which he SNAPPED, if it's not cleaned it's not available find a seat at the other tables.

Hunter, the polite server said I'll clean up the table right away. Hunter had a great disposition, polite and professional. Another guest complained about the lack of service to the same server, his absence and had to look for him in the kitchen to express her dissatisfaction in the service to which he shrugged and then asked if she could have condiments brought to her table to which he signed and sarcastically repeated her request.

If you decide to dine here, ask for Hunter and NO ONE ELSE. If she's not available, please take your business elsewhere.“

“One of the best meals I’ve had in LA. The food was exceptional and had so many amazing flavors. I went here on a date and the atmosphere was perfect. It is all outside but the heaters kept it toasty and it’s very picturesque. Our favorite things we got were the yams, and there was a delicious mussels special that was SO good. Extra bonus because they have a parking lot. Will definitely be coming back many times!“
