“This is a tricky one. Getting Jajangmyeon right is so tough to pull off impressing Koreans. This is like trying to get a baguette right in France. Myeongdong is situated in the Pacific Pearl plaza where almost out of no where you have this massive Asian cuisine bonanza going on in Livermore - traditionally considered Asian dessert. It was really weird to see that many legit Korean / Chinee / Taiwanese / and other food and chains all the way out there. I guess they're for outlet shoppers?Either way, Myeongdong's Jajangmyeon was definitely on the legit side. The noodle texture was relatively good and unique. The slight fail is definitely with the sauce. Plenty of veggies and meat but no gravy. This means the Jajangmyeon turns out dry and leaves a lot of noodle without any flavor coverage. I hope the chef puts a bit more effort into the gravy and au jour, especially cause that is the cheaper part of the sauce.Their Tangsooyook - deep fried pork - that always accompanies the Jajangmyeon was also quite good. Decent portions, decently sweet sauce. Nothing mind blowing but also not to be shy of.Jjampong - spicy seafood noodles - the soup didn't have much soul in it. Barely passing the acceptable mark but again, not too shabby considering how far out this joint is compared to the rest of the Korean population.Prices were appropriate. And considering how new the place is, the atmosphere was clean and bright. These types of Korean comfort food places is all about "aging" and maturing. There's a bit of breaking in that must be done and I think as the years fold under, let's see how they either establish themselves into a destination for pilgrimage or simply wither away. As of now, I'm more on the hopeful side.Parking: The plaza parking lot - despite being quite spacious - literally fills up. And 1/3rd of the stores weren't even open. Good luck finding parking.“

Not your traditional bun bo hue, very satisfying. It was a pretty hot day, and the staff turned on the fan for me!It looks like the vietnamese sandwiches are what this restaurant are known for (there was a steady flow of walk in and phone take out orders for sandwiches the entire time) so I'll be back to try that next.“

“Recently, I had the pleasure of taking my son out for a special date night at Special Noodle in Newark, and it was truly a delightful experience. The food was simply delicious, earning it a solid 4.5 stars in my book. While the chow fun wasn't the best I've had, and the soup dumplings were just average, the chili wontons definitely hit the spot. However, the star of the show was undeniably the numbing beef soup. It was bursting with flavor and truly a must-try, although be prepared for a slight numbing sensation in your tongue and throat. Despite this, it remains one of my favorite soups. In addition to the fantastic food, the service was top-notch. The staff was quick, responsive, and very accommodating, despite the language barrier with some servers. Their warmth and friendliness added to the overall pleasant dining experience.I also appreciated the unique decor and ambiance of the restaurant, particularly the lavish lights adorning the overhead ceiling. It added a special touch to the dining atmosphere.Overall, Special Noodle offers a memorable dining experience with its delicious food, excellent service, and charming ambiance. I highly recommend giving it a try.“

“It’s a nice clean place, with great Pho. The quality of Pho soup was great as well as the quality. We ordered Pho with Pork wonton, chicken and shrimp. Although I liked the soup, what disappointed me was the broken wantons, all of them had the meat out of the wonton. We also ordered a side of grilled pork, which was also a disappointment. My suggestion if you are visiting here is to stick to Pho and order their typical dishes. The soup quantity and quality along with the noddle and meat would not disappoint you.I would rather not experiment here. But overall a good experience.I would want to go here again“

“This is a highly recommended local restaurant we should support and treasure! I went there this afternoon for a quick lunch and ordered a small Combo Pho and a piece of Fried Shrimp Cake. For the Combo Pho, the meat quality is great and sufficient and the pho amount is just right! Most importantly is that the soup is hot and you won’t get thirsty after having their soup. At $12.50 price, that’s a great price in Tri-Valley since pandemic. Also, I’d ordered a piece of Fried Shrimp Cake as the side of my pho. The shrimp cake is crispy and full of shrimp flavor and I can cut it into 9 bite size and it only cost me $7.00 only!“

“I have only tried chili oil noodles at Ox9. Not much vegetarian options here. I have tried 3 locations of this place in Cupertino, fremont and Milpitas. Chili oil noodles are consistent in taste. The noodles were thick and chewy, very filling. It's a QR code order kind of place. Not much service or ambiance. No frill restaurant but gets the job done. Affordable and tasty.“

“First impression means a lot when you are trying out a new place. The greetings from the staff was so cheerful and pleasant. Don't know her name but she wears her hair in two ponytails. Even though we are supposed to order online they still come by to take our orders and clarify questions we may have. A lot of restaurants don't bother. We had the pickled cabbage fish and the pork cartilage noodles. They are good! Though they can time down the salt a bit more but that's a personal preference. The pickled potatoes is a good appetizer. Would definitely recommend this place.“

“I really like this rice roll shop. I don’t know why the rating is so low. The waitress is very nice. I ordered the Tingzi porridge, which is extremely rich in content. I also ordered the siomai, phoenix scratch and fried dough sticks. I really liked the siomai. I also ordered it. I ordered claypot rice. The pork ribs were not too thick. Overall, I liked it. “Ordered #2 spicy sate noodle soup. The food came out quick and was super flavorful. The location has plenty of parking spaces and it is across from Marshall's. I thought their menu was affordable judging that lots of food places are charging $16 for a plate of food. I can't speak for all dishes on the menu but the one I had was good. It was a lot so I had to take it to-go. You can't see in the picture but there was a lot of meat hidden in my broth as it comes with flat noodle and lemon. Super tasty and will come here again. “We had an assortment of dishes and shared all as one would family style. The sauces and ingredients were quality almost as good as we had overseas. What highlighted the key ingredient was the noodles. Better than most casual locales we’ve experienced. I couldn’t recollect the Korean dish names, but check the pics. After lunch, we came to the consensus that the dishes we had were better than expected. Our foodie has been to Santa Clara location as well and precedes that this location has better quality pork dishes. Hope someone will agree or have similar experiences.
