“Fast casual Japanese eatery specializing in ramen and small rice bowls. Go-to place for the family to pick up takeout or eat in the common food court area within the Mitsuwa grocery store.
A family favorite is the char siu rice bowl (side dish #45). It is simple comfort food with warm and plump short grain rice, topped with tender pork and freshly sliced green onions. The shichimi (seven flavor chili powder) offered at the counter is a nice complement.
The Hiyashi ramen is a cold noodle summer special. Two slices of tender pork, green onions, red pickled ginger, thinly sliced cucumber, and other goodies. Santouka offers three types of sauce - tried the spicey sauce, but felt the mala overpowered the dish a bit. Would recommend the shoyu or sesame sauces and then adding shichimi for more heat.“

“I came for a visit with some friends. As expected since it's a popular location, the parking was a little difficult to find and there was quite a wait. The staff provided great service and offered plenty of recommendations. Inside the restaurant, it's very spacious and warm with wood accents and a full bar.
For appetizers, we ordered the Takoyaki, Karaage, and Pork Gyoza. The Takoyaki was very hot and incredibly soft and gooey it practically melts into your mouth. The kaarage was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and paired nicely with the sauce. A hint of lemon made it taste so much better. The Pork Gyoza was a good starter and a great way to begin a meal. For our main dishes, we had the Traditional Tonkotsu Ramen, Carnitas Ramen, the Chicken Ramen, and the Chicken Katsu Curry. The Tonkotsu Ramen stood out the most. It's very flavorful and balanced nicely without an overly rich or heavy taste. The Carnitas Ramen was very interesting since it's a unique fusion-style dish which surprisingly works well. The Chicken Ramen on the other hand was decent. The chicken itself was a bit dry and salty, making it the least favorite out of the three we tried. As for the Chicken Katsu Curry, the katsu is crunchy, soft and was great to have. It's not overpowering and the curry flavor was spot on.
Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a satisfying bowl of ramen. It's a great spot for friends, family, and groups. Only downside is having to deal with the wait and limited parking so plan accordingly.“
“First time at Elvira after many dinners at Cesarina. The food is the same level of authenticity and quality. But at Elvira, you can find parking and actually reserve a table (I am not criticizing Cesarina for being popular, just noting how difficult reserving a table can be). Last time I ate at Cesarina was with my wife who was wheelchair bound and two friends. The person who served us that night - Denis, I think - was also our wine server last night and remembered me. I am not famous and not worth looking at. So, I really appreciate that level of interest. I had the Amatriciana sauce last night. It's wonderful - worth a detour. It's simple on the surface, but getting the flavors balanced with the right amount of spiciness and fruitiness takes real skill in the kitchen. They have it. As our waiter last night suggested, it's like a big hug - just makes you feel loved and wanted. We also had the beet salad and the mixed salad both of which are well prepared, balanced and each sufficient for two people (we were three). We appreciate the low corkage fee that brings on a good decanter and appropriate glassware. We may never go back to Cesarina - not because it isn't worthy and surely not to miss the care Iris brings to her customers - but because Elvira is so darn good and easier to access. Also the service in Elvira is truly wonderful - not pushy, not fancy - knowledgeable, great sense of humor and attention at the right moments. And the free dessert is in insufficient bribe to get me to say such nice things about him and the restaurant.“

“Went here for late night ramen (arrived about 9:30pm). The Black Edition Ramen was tasty but get ready for garlic breath! I also had the Matcha Float, which was yummy. Someone else in our party got the Jubilee for $29, which is a great deal bc you get a 4 course meal plus a beverage. We also got the chicken curry and 2 other bowls of ramen. All great!“

“If you’re looking for one of the best ramen spots in Mira Mesa, you have to try RakiRaki Ramen & Tsukemen
We came to try their ramen and honestly everything was packed with flavor. The Yakiniku Ramen was rich, comforting, and full of delicious beef with perfectly cooked noodles and a flavorful broth that tasted authentic and homemade. Definitely a must-try if you love Japanese ramen in San Diego.
We also ordered the Yakiniku Don Rice Bowl and it was so good tender seasoned beef over rice with amazing flavor in every bite. Super satisfying and perfect if you want something hearty.
For sushi, we tried the Poke Roll and loved how fresh it tasted. The combination of textures and flavors worked perfectly together and paired so well with the ramen.
The ambiance was lively and cozy, the service was friendly, and the food came out fresh and beautifully presented. If you’re searching for the best ramen in Mira Mesa, authentic Japanese food in San Diego, or a casual spot for ramen and sushi, RakiRaki definitely deserves a spot on your list. Highly recommend checking this place out!“

“Hands down the best ramen I’ve had! Everything was delicious - we had the garlic spicy edamame, oxtail ramen, and spare-rib ramen. We asked for non-pork broths and were given two great alternatives that were perfectly paired with our ramen orders. The atmosphere and service were excellent. Highly recommend! Will definitely be back“

“Looking for a replacement Chinese Restaurant, since my favorite closed down. Ran out of options in Poway. So decided to give 369 a try. They had a few Chinese options, so tried the Broccoli Beef lunch special. I was pleasantly surprise, very good flavor and large portions. The regular portion would feed two. They also sell Beef Chow Fun. I normally have to get this at a sit down place. Theirs is pretty good. One day I will try the Ramen.“
