“I think this could make a fun date spot.
I thought the sets were reasonably priced, but maybe it’s because I’m comparing it to SF pricing.
Every bite was great, but I think next time I’ll ask for less rice or maybe even none.“

“When I'm craving sashimi or sushi that's fresh and reasonably priced, I always head to Ebiko.
Ebiko is a quick stop-and-shop in Piedmont, wish fresh sushi, nigiri, sashimi and more! It's mainly for takeout. The service is good and friendly! Mainly just the chefs in the back and hostess/cashier. Since it's a shop without seating, the vibe feels like a convenient store with snacks and drinks as well.
Parking can be a pain, but if you emergency park, I'm sure you'll be in and out under 5minutes.
Overall, great store for sushi and I would always recommend friends to stop by here when visiting!“

“An astonishing 18-course omakase, expertly prepared, sourced in the finest sushi chef tradition of impeccable quality.
Warm and comfortable welcome with a happy-to-share chef who told us stories about his choices in making what has to be one of the finest Japanese experiences stateside.
Tiny space, superbly arranged.
I cannot recommend it enough. Not cheap but value for money if you struggle to “have something you’ve never had anywhere else” (and don’t want the 9+ hour Tokyo flight).“

“This was the BEST food I've had in years. I sat there and literally closed my eyes so I could savor the experience and feel ever morsel move through my body. We had the Richmond Roll and the Pink Lady. The vegetarian options are so delicious that I am going to go back over and over again just to try everything on the menu. I literally stopped my conversation because I was having such a spiritual experience with the food. I could not focus on anything other than enjoying it. The customer service was incredible. The staff was so friendly and kind. The presentation of the dishes is immaculate. I felt like I was getting a Michelin star quality meal.
Please go try this. It's so good and so worth the money. I am in awe. ?“

“I was seated right away at Ninja Sushi, which was a great start. The food came out impressively fast without sacrificing quality. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. The service was friendly and efficient, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m craving sushi!“

“Nigiri combo is excellent! I can’t wait to try the sashimi combo next. I came just before they were closing for lunch and people were steadily coming either to pick up or eat-in up until their closing time. It seemed they were regular customers who are keeping this place a secret and happy to say, I am on it already. Can’t wait to go back.“
“Heard of this spot via word of mouth. Me a good friend went there and the food was amazing! A personal nitpick was it was too dim, but that’s just a personal preference.
The food was fantastic, service was excellent as well, I forgot to ask the server’s name, but she went out of her way to fix our table that was wobbly. I remember she had a nose septum ring.
Overall, fantastic sushi restaurant, highly recommend the Macha Tres Leche cake if you have room left!“

“Lovely little hole-in-the-wall in an unassuming spot. Fish is very fresh, cut in generous slabs, and reasonably cheap.
Wouldn't really recommend dining in, since there are only a few tables and students / delivery drivers are constantly coming in and out; however, table service is offered, and the owners will make your order fresh.“

“I quite enjoy this sushi spot on University.
I’ve been here about 3 times now and have enjoyed everything I’ve ordered. I definitely recommend the main dishes that come with miso and rice. You get more bang for your buck. This time around I ordered the saba mackerel and it was delicious. The fish comes with seaweed salad, cucumbers, miso soup, rice, and salad. Last time I ordered the hamachi collar and it was def a favorite. Their food is always presented so elegantly. The inside is small so it can get packed easily. Surprisingly it wasn’t that crowded around lunch time on a Monday though. Keep in mind that they do close after lunch service to prepare for dinner service. We were able to get a table for a group of 6 right away. Parking is metered on the street and can be difficult to be find. Staff is super sweet and accommodating. Someone in our party accidentally knocked over some of the miso soup and the waitress happily gave him a new one and also replaced his tray and helped cleaned the table. Inside gives a cozy and relaxing feel and the tableware was nice as well.“

“Nice little spot! Emphasis on little. Went in, was the only diner for a while until a few other folks came in. Sat at the counter that had a convenient foot bar. Staff was attentive. The music was really calming too.
Ordered the duck breast ramen for 1$18 and it was so good! Great flavors! Was so excited to eat, I burned my tongue a little🥲 Didn’t try any sushi, but if you’re looking for a ramen fix, you won’t be disappointed!“

“Best sushi in the city. The chefs are super talented and the waitstaff are always great. Food is top notch. Good selection for different fish and apps. I usually go for omakase, but sometimes the kira kira or ninja roll. The atmosphere is not too loud. You can usually find parking within a couple blocks.“

“The food is awesome!! It's my first time being impressed with Vegan food. I'm a big sushi lover, and this was the best sushi I've eaten all summer =).

- tempura shitake (great!)
- potatoes (wouldn't order again).
And four sushi rolls
- Kailua
- Waimanalo (best!!)
- pacifica
- half-moon (wouldn't order again)“

“Absolutely best sushi. The chef is extremely passionate and talented, and it shows in the food and the service that is a lost art in current times. The prices are extremely fair for this quality of sushi. I think it's honestly worth more, but the lower prices make it more accessible. They have excellent vegetarian and vegan options. Highly recommend spicy crunchy tuna roll, futomaki roll, shitaki maki vegetable tempura, and my partner recommends the white dragon roll.
I have a crab allergy and have never had any issues here.
Service is good and the atmosphere is nice. The restaurant is decorated and has a nice feel.
In the picture: white dragon roll, spicy crunchy tuna rolls, vegetarian Bento box with veggie tempura and shitaki maki. Highly recommend this place.“

“Asaka is a friendly neighborhood sushi bar and Japanese restaurant and I enjoyed dinner very much. They were extremely polite and courteous, very good service and food is served quickly.
The restaurant is decorated nicely and has a charming feel to it. Not overly modernized yet a modern feel. Yet also a cozy sushi bar feel. Well done!
Three of us had a couple bento boxes and a nigiri and sashimi combo. Dinner requires three item bento, and the tempura was the star. Nicely battered and fried just right. Chicken teriyaki was chicken teriyaki, if you know what I mean. The California rolls were good… they go the extra mile and mince the imitation crab as opposed to some places that just slice a little chunk. And the spicy tuna roll was not really spicy but tasty enough.
The sashimi and nigiri were very fresh and decently portioned. I prefer smaller and higher quality, which is what they served. They could go a little hotter on the wasabi. Theirs was mild.
And of course miso soup and salad with that sesame dressing I love. Fun meal, great place.“

“Beyond thrilled that this location has opened in Albany! Fish quality is great, house made soy sauce is delicious, and everyone who works here is warm, friendly and helpful. Note that rolls are intentionally spaced ~5 minutes apart to make sure you have time to enjoy and appreciate each one! If all of them were brought at the same time, your seaweed would be soggy/chewy so time your dining and plan accordingly. Drinks are wonderful! The lunch set is a great value at $20/$27 depending on your selections. Easily one of the best restaurants in Albany! 🍣🍣🍣“

“This restaurant is very good. The galbi was excellent so was the quality of the fish especially the sashimi. My s was delicious as well I ordered the rainbow roll I recommend it. Do not put Ponzi sauce on anything just have the straight fish with wasabi Ginger if I could give them six stars I would. Hope it stays the same quality. The food servers were great, both Yang, and Mia gave me exemplary service.“

“I came here with my friends while we were on a field trip and the atmosphere was super cozy, they had good R&B playing and it was lowkey aesthetic. I had the dragon roll, my friend had the sushi bae roll and we both shared the philly roll. We really liked the sushi and we finished it super fast. The staff was super sweet and super awesome, then when they told us about the pictures that they took for their poloroid wall, my friends and I were super excited. We had a really nice experience here and it was very hospitable. I will definitely be back when I have my next field trip in Oakland. Loved it!“

“What a wonderful place! We're very picky with our sushi, and this was great. The fish were all really good cuts, and the rolls were well made. The servers were also super friendly. I recommend their eel (donburi or rolls were both good textures/flavors)“

“This is a great little place to have sushi for lunch. I ordered a salmon teriyaki box and there was a generous portion of salmon, rice, salad, and veggies. My husband had a sushi box and said that it was very good. The prices are reasonable considering the location. The restaurant's very small so there's not much seating but it's possible to use a couple of picnic tables outside.“

“Cool sushi spot, atmosphere was very chill. I was pretty much the only one eating at the time. Sashimi was good, the 49er roll wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be but this pace was still great. Staff was very courteous and the food came really fast. They also give you large portions. You'll get full fast at this spot.“

“This sushi spot is pretty great! I'm a big sushi lover and had never been here before. The restaurant itself is small inside but the sushi is well made and you can tell they put effort into it. “Stopped by before a visit to the nursery. Had heard of this place from Check Please Bay Area too. The CalBear roll was soooo good. Not your typical roll. Sweet and savory in one bite. We also had the poke roll which was really nice and not too spicy. Our server was really friendly. Great tea and the restrooms super clean.“

“Very clean, excellent menu with very creative rolls. The nigiri 🍣 sushi is fresh and the best I’ve had to date. Personable, knowledgeable and friendly staff. “Small shop with warm food and an open fridge section of sushi. There was also a wall of snacks. Prices are very reasonable. No verbal communication which I think is fine but the woman dropped my packed sushi upside down and then tossed it into a bag. Sushi rice was a bit too hard for my liking.“

“Dinner started off strong with flavorful chicken and beef skewers, and the salmon kama was a highlight—perfectly cooked and delicious.
The rolls were less impressive. The Rock & Roll and Spider rolls were drenched in eel sauce, which overpowered everything. I’m always a bit cautious when sushi comes heavily sauced—it feels like something’s being covered up. The sushi rice was also a bit soggy.
The uni, saba, and hamachi sushi were all fresh and enjoyable, though the uni portions were smaller than expected.
Bill came out to over $150. A little pricey for what we got, but with smarter ordering, I’d give it another try.
4 stars“

“It is rare that I say a sushi restaurant, much less in Oakland, is good but this place is hands down the best sushi spot I’ve tried in the bay so far. The cute waitress was friendly and was very attentive with everything I asked for. The sushi itself felt really fresh and the hand rolls were very tasty.
My only critique is that their spicy mayo is too much mayo and not enough spicy. I would like it to have more of a kick.
The bathroom was immaculate. This would be a great date spot. I’m a single guy but this would be a great place take a date. The interior is cozy and intimate and the sushi area has a cute pink color.
I’m very impressed by this place.“

“I've come here a couple times and I must say I really like this restaurant. It is a bit overpriced, but it is worth it! I got the dragon roll and bento box and it was really good. The gyoza in the bento box wasn't to my taste but I understand why other people might like it. I ordered online and waited twelve minutes, then picked up and ate at the patio tables outside. Definitely recommend this spot!“

“Sushi is good! Got the snow crab roll, salmon skin hand roll, spicy tuna roll, Berkley roll and salmon roll and they were all good! No food poisoning either so major plus! We got there right at 11am, and it's a cute little place. Felt like we were in Japan based off the decor! The place is small, right when you walk in the main area where the sushi bar is at you may be able to have 18 people in this room at the most! There is another side that has some seating. So definitely not a place for large groups! The service was on point, gentlemen making the sushi was very kind but when we asked to split or check per item, he was confused. He replied if I wanted to split it evenly and I said no I'd like it to be split per item of what each person ordered and it was like I was speaking a different language to him. He was able to figure out what I meant but this is the only negative thing I would say, don't assume people are on the same check. Staff need to make sure they ask prior to combining checks to save the confusion for the future. Also another side note, it is Berkeley and this location is located and what looks to be the ghetto. I am not from that area at all but do not let the location deceive you. This is a very good place! Prices are reasonable for the size of the sushi rolls. Average price is roughly $16 per roll and you get eight pieces out of each roll. If back in the area we'll definitely go back.
Also a major plus, we were given complimentary edamame!“

“Best sushi, hands down. I haven’t been to enough sushi places in SF to say it’s the best in the city. But what I can tell you it’s the best sushi I’ve ever had in my life. Be patient. It’s just mom and pop behind the counter, but it’s worth it.“

“At other places I have to order every free add-on for poke because they don’t give you that much but here you can expect to get SO much food. I was amazed at the quantity of veggies in my poke bowl also it was absolutely packed with really fresh fish. I actually had to pour it into a larger mixing bowl to get to the rice at the bottom. The gentleman waited till I came in to make it because he had a question which was so kind and he was super fast. Nicer part of town, quiet restaurant very relaxed energy will be going again.“
“Absolutely amazing experience! 🍣 I had my first uni (sea urchin) and hirame sushi here, and it was honestly life-changing. Huge thanks to Ren, our server , he recommended both, and they turned out to be the best sushi I’ve ever had.
Ren was super detailed, kind, and really knows his stuff. He made the whole experience so much better with his recommendations and explanations. The food was absolutely stellar, top-notch quality, and incredibly fresh.
I honestly can’t thank Ren enough. I’m definitely coming back on a regular basis , this is officially my #1 go-to sushi spot in the entire Bay Area for weekends. Highly, highly recommend!“
