“We were visiting Sacramento for 1 day and saw the reviews for Sushi Cafe - so we tried it out - and we weren't disappointed. The sushi was very good, the staff was friendly, and the prices were quite reasonable. The only thing that disappointed was the Oyako Don - which was overcooked. All in all - this was a great find.“

“Gift card scam. Mikunis implemented a new protocol in 2022. Any gift cards that were purchased before a certain (unknown) date, and now utilized, will be zeroed out. Back story: I attempted to use a gift card today (April 2023) and was informed it had a zero balance. The server kept my card. I had a gut feeling, asked for the card back. I spoke to the manager about how I could have a zero balance when I had never used it. The manager informed me that corporate zeroed out all gift cards that weren’t used. In order for me to get my money on the gift card, I have to call corporate headquarters and “request” an inquiry; which I did to no avail. It’s not about “expired” gift cards. It’s about not informing consumers ahead of a new rule that gift cards be zeroed out before a certain date. I’ve used 10 year old gift cards at other restaurants without any problem. Biggest scam ever.“

“1st time trying Ju Hachi On New Years, and here's my Sacramento Downtown reality check.

Ju Hachi is a spot where fresh shipments of fish come first, and you can Taste it immediately. Clean cuts, fresh, succulent and juicy - the Chefs choice sashimi of the day was ocean trout + hamachi + salmon. For the fitness folks that need high protein macro friendly eats, Ju Hachi is your spot.

For service pacing, the holidays are times we're most businesses are understaffed and patience is truly needed with compassion to understand the service here stands out because they are focused on making sure we have a quality meal despite high volume customers in a small packed place.

Ambiance, the aesthetics makes the place great for family , business meetings, or even bonding time for folks that want to escape work chaos. The music playing was the 90's and 2000s RNB so - best believe it was a vibe.

Tip : sit at sushi bar if you can, order with intention, and build in a little grace and compassion because good food takes time, and so do the folks that make this place possible.“

“Grateful to Otoro for being open late, since there are so few options outside of fast food. Head Chef Jason was a pleasure to talk to, and check out his beautiful paintings which are on the walls! The 10-piece sashimi was excellent (hanami was my favorite) and he recommended the deep fried cheese cake which was very good! Highly recommend!“

“All you eat shushi buffet, order abd they’ll make fresh and can also order from the menu as well. Prices vary from lunch to dinner was $27, plus drinks and takeout box was $6 time a tiny box that only fits 8 shushi. Order digitally from the table. This place is always packed, arrive early. Ice cream is one scoop per bowl, so order two for each person. Same with appetizers 2 pieces per order, so order more than one! Not bad for the prices. If you love shushi this is the place for you!“

“Ate in and the food was decent. Got a to go order for my family member and it has zero sauce and was obviously rushed and thrown together lazily. The to-go should at least resemble the dine in food. The exact same roll ended up looking like crap and had no sauce at all. What a bummer..when you pay a premium for sushi you should get decent sushi. This was crap and I can't believe they served it to us after we had just spent a bunch of money eating in. We won't be back. If getting to go, check your food. They do not care about the customer and will sneak awful rolls into your bag without care.“

We went there for lunch and thought the bill seemed high. We then asked for the itemized check only to realize they already added a tip. I ordered the Salmon Truffle Sashimi and Sun Roll and it was genuinely the most quality fish I’ve had and hands down the best sushi rolls I’ve eaten! “Stopped at this place cause we were looking for Bento boxes. lol. I didn't read the menu prior to stopping. We contemplated leaving cause we weren't sure about the items on the menu. I am happy to report we enjoyed our meal.

Here's what we ordered:

1. Wakame
2. Taco Sake
3. Katsu Don

The taco sake was yummy. The sauce on the taco gave poke vibes but wrapped up in crunchy seaweed that stayed together nicely after each bite. The katsu loss a little of the signature crunch after being covered by all the yummies in the bowl but overall good. Maybe change the plating to layer the chicken on top so it doesn't turn soggy.

“This is my favorite restaurant in Sacramento without question. I moved to the area about three years ago now, and it quickly became my go-to comfort food. “This place is a hidden gem! I’ve never ordered a wrong thing here —all of the ingredients are fresh and prepared with care. When you order a chef’s choice selection, they will sometimes include real wasabi (along with the regular paste wasabi that is more common at restaurants). The look of the restaurant, as well as the visual presentation of the dishes, are very pretty and photo-worthy. The A5 Miyazaki Wagyu is phenomenal. The paper hotpot was a unique and imaginative experience —no single bite was ever the same, but constantly evolving. “I love kura sushi! the food is really good and the bikkura pon system is so fun :) this time we went to try out the new kirby collab rolls. the kirby one was nice and on the sweeter side. it definitely felt a bit weird to eat that pink sauce haha. I liked the waddle dee roll a bit more because of the spice. they weren't on the conveyor belt themselves, you had to order them specifically on the tablet.“
