“Picked up food to go last year and it was really good. So happy that we found this place again! Ordered garlic parm and spicy fried chicken wing plates, lemongrass chicken and beef meatball pho. Also ordered strawberry and melon boba milk tea and Vietnamese coffee with egg cream. Food and drinks came out quickly. Customer service was great. It was so good that we ate and drank everything! * Service Speed: I was seated immediately, and the service was genuinely outstanding. The staff was incredibly attentive; I received my requests within literally 30 seconds. This level of efficiency, while warranting a generous tip, significantly enhanced the dining experience.
☕ Drinks & Appetizers
* Cinnamon Coffee: A highly recommended start! It was very good, featuring noticeable and pleasant hints of cinnamon.
* Onion Rings: A definite 10 out of 10. They were fantastic both plain and, even better, when paired with the ranch dressing.
* Specialty Salsa: This sauce, which we asked for on the side, was super delicious and packed with flavor. While it had a slight kick (a bit spicy for my personal taste), it was excellent overall. It truly elevated the burger.

Eggs Benedict
This dish was quite good overall, though a couple of preparation issues were noted:

* Flavor & Texture: The burger had very good flavor and was wonderfully juicy.

“I came to Denny's del la Torre everything was amazing the service was great the restaurant was clean and spotless the servers were very nice and welcoming and great and the food tasted amazing. They came up to check multiple times on the table to make sure everything was well and that nothing was missing at all times. Will definitely be coming again. From their initial store in Salinas by the Greyhound Station under Salinas Donuts, to their journey here, they have remained the same humble team serving us Salinas Residents with our morning dose of Breakfast Bagels, Coffee, Tea, Juices and Human Kindness. “Taking a road trip up the coast and I finally got to stop here and eat/drink after enjoying some of their beers at home. It did not disappoint! Food was delicious, service in the beer garden was great, and as always the beer was on point. Had the Paloma Pizzazz which is good if you like grapefruit and their guest beer the Muddlin Forte was sooo good. The only negative was they were out of all their large t-shirts so I'll just have to go shopping online. Hope to be in the area again soon to try some more things.“

We kicked things off with micheladas make sure you specify the size, because they offer everything from small to fish-bowl! We were then serenaded by Taka Taka’s, which set the tone for a fantastic evening. “I was pleasantly surprised by the food. The menu offered a wide variety of items I hadn’t seen before, and the orange chicken was truly unique, and my wife loved the stuffed eggplant. While the presentation could have been better, the clean, open atmosphere more than made up for it. The restrooms were spotless, and the tables were so clean you could practically eat off them. Another standout detail was that both the water and ice were filtered—a small touch that speaks volumes about quality. “Delicious food, they are very welcoming, if there is something wrong with the order they don’t hesitate to fix it. We come here often. I usually order a quesabirria or quesadilla. My daughter loves the sopes and tacos. My husband likes their asada burrito. I’ve had many of their plates and they’re all good. They also have Taco Tuesday. My dad’s favorite. Their food trucks are also good. One thing I do recommend is that they make more aguas frescas since they run out quick every time I go to the restaurant they’re out.

“I came to Mama Lupita's for lunch one day after several hours in the court room listening to juror selection procedures. So I had pretty high expectations and an empty stomach.
There's not too much to say about the restaurant itself. It's somewhat bare, but it's the kind of raw, undesigned design where you can be pretty sure you're about to eat some incredible Mexican food.
But let's verify that. How good really was it?
To begin my meal, I was provided the standard chips and salsa, as well as a consommé that was more like a fiery noodle soup and was quite enjoyable. The chips tasted fresh and rich. But I was let down by the salsa. It really just tasted like watered down cayenne powder, with no interesting notes in flavor or texture. Thus it was also unjustifiably spicy, which is a terrible sin for a salsa to commit.
I ordered the costillas con nopales, and they arrived on an enormous platter with fresh, housemade corn tortillas. The dish was also quite spicy, but this time it felt earned. There were layers in the rich scarlet broth (it looked much brighter in person), some of which were supplied by the meat and nopales. It was a cohesive dish, and not like anything I've had before. The beans and rice were surprisingly good, as I thought they had an anemic appearance. The tortillas were intriguing as well. Not as succulent as a typical housemade corn tortilla but with a curious chewiness and leathery exterior that gave them a delightful mouthfeel. I wish I could have had a few more.
I had a pretty good lunch, and I had the good fortune to discover that Mama Lupita's also has rather comfortable bathrooms, which beat the courthouse stalls by a mile.
If you're looking to beat the jury duty blues I wouldn't off the bat recommend this place (there are plenty of others to try, and I have found better not too much farther away) but given the short walk and decent food I wouldn't tell you not to give it a shot -- just don't take that as legal advice.“
