“Came to try this place after noticing it while ordering Korean Fried Chicken next door. It's in the strip mall next to 280 on San Bruno Ave. Place is huge, a little dark, and I haven't seen it being crowded ever. Do note that they are closed on Sunday which is really weird for most Asian restaurant.
The food is decent but nothing special. Don't think the soup is from actual bone soup but with the price I don't expect them to. They however gives you a lot of meat for the price. I feel like I got a decent deal. Service is also good. You do have to pay at the counter.“

“This Vietnamese restaurant is worth visiting. The food was savory and mouthwatering. We ordered phō of course, but also the viet time sampler, which includes four delicious items. It was not crowded and wasn’t loud. They have a TV screen showing the food being made, which was different but also entertaining for those of us who love the Food Network.
I cannot express enough how delicious the food was! I will surely be returning here. Enjoy 💕“

“Ordered pickup for my family this afternoon and we were blown away by our dishes. The garlic five spice chicken noodles were impeccable. The curry soup with chicken was scrumptious. And the barbecue pork rolls were to die for. We will definitely be coming back again.“

“Amazing Banh Mi! Everything about it was amazing. I usually have trouble with the crispy portion but this bread had a thin crisp with a nice soft inner. When I went around 2pm they ran out of pork so I got a beef instead. No regrets because this is the best beef banh mi I've ever had. Very tender meat and well seasoned. I loved the amount of veggies packed in as well.
I'll definitely be back for more!“

“Saigon BBQ Noodle House is one of my favorite go-tos for Vietnamese in San Francisco. The pho has a rich, aromatic broth that hits the spot every time, and their garlic noodles are garlicky without being overwhelming. Portions are large ‒ you’ll definitely leave full. The banh mi has a soft chewy bread that complements all the fillings perfectly, and even the simpler dishes show freshness in the ingredients.
Service is warm and unpretentious — staff make you feel welcome immediately. The space is casual, which makes it nice for relaxed meals, but it can get busy and a little loud at peak times. Overall price is reasonable for the quality. Highly recommend if you want authentic Vietnamese without frills.“

“I love this place so much. It’s quickly become a neighborhood staple and my favorite Vietnamese in the city (I used to live near Turtle Tower in Little Saigon so my bar is high)! Things I love -
- The classic beef pho broth is flavorful, savory - not overly sweet or spiced, and not watered down. It’s just perfect. They don’t skimp on portions for meat or noodles.
- You can sub fresh rice noodles for classic pho noodles, which I personally love. Less chewy but soft and comforting.
- they have greater variety than typical of a pho spot. You can get classic beef pho but they also have Bun Rieu (a tomato and shrimp/crab paste noodle soup that’s delish).
- everything’s incredibly fresh. Not a wilty herb in sight.
- finally, they service!! They are insanely kind. The owners are warm and friendly. My three year old daughter was sad that I ate her noodles 😅 and the owner packed her extra to go.
This will be our go-to spot for years to come.“

“Ordered Crunch Combo and Lemongrass beef sandwiches. Cut them in half and shared half a sandwich each with a friend at Marina Green.
Crunch has a thin veneer of delicious pate on the bottom bread. Bread was crispy on top and soft throughout which was easy to chew. Sometimes Banh mi bread makes my jaw ache from excessive chewing. The bread they use is fantastic.
The only gripe is that there was a mouthful of gristle in my lemongrass beef, but otherwise, the sandwiches were delicious and composed well.
I’ll definitely come back. Forget the others. So far, it’s my favorite/the best Banh mi I’ve tried in San Francisco.“

“The garlic roast crab here, paired with the garlic noodles, might be one of the most enjoyable meals I’ve had in San Francisco. Just make sure you clean your hands well before eating because you’re gonna dig in deep and go nasty. And don’t skip its head. It’s surprisingly good. Dip some noodles into the garlic oil and eat some of that crab meat and all of the good stuff in one bite, and you’ll be like 🤤🤤🤤“

“Just tried for the 1st time today and ordered takeout bbq pork banh mi sandwich and a Vietnamese iced coffee. Seems like a family owned mom&pop shop, super sweet friendly service. BBQ pork banh mi sandwich was excellent, perfectly toasted bread on the outside, soft on the inside (not hard and rough like other banh mi sandwiches that hurt the roof of your mouth), delicious BBQ pork flavor, stuffed with fresh yummy pickled veggies, flavors were spot on. Vietnamese iced coffee was good, could be a bit stronger and creamier for my tastes. Overall would highly recommend. Can't wait to come back. =)“

“Revisited this spot & still so good. Tried the vegan iced Thai tea for the first time and it was delicious!! The alternative is coconut milk fyi. My go to is the pork ban mi but most items I’ve had are good. A perf little spot after spending the day in Pacifica surf or hiking. Ps. Love that they are always blasting the jams in there!

“Good prices comparatively, the tofu sandwich was $9. To make it vegan get it with no mayo. The tofu was marinated and saucy so the sandwich was still moist. Small amount of seating inside. They can also make tofu spring rolls and tofu noodles (not on the menu but they have a picture of it on the wall).“

“Been meaning to review this location.
This location is perfect for crab and lobster lovers. We ordered the crab and lobster set menu and had both the crab and lobster cooked with garlic sauce. I was told it was amazing, since I am allergic to both crab and lobster, I more of the garlic noodles -yummy., papaya salad, steamed sea bass and charbroiled pork. I really liked their garlic noodles. It’s as good as Thanh Long .“

“We stumbled upon Kevin & Chris’s Noodle House while exploring San Francisco’s Sunset district and decided to dive in for some comforting Vietnamese fare no reservations needed, and we were seated quickly in the casual dining room (put your name and party size on a sheet and they call your name). “My parents had a craving--no, a calling--for the kind of Vietnamese-Chinese noodle soup that could awaken old memories and warm the soul. I was determined to find the very best in the city, a place worthy of their nostalgia.
That quest led us to Thai Nghiep Ky Mi Gia, tucked away in the heart of San Francisco's Sunset District.
The moment we stepped in, the air was rich with the scent of simmering broth. We were seated instantly, greeted with a smile that felt like an old friend welcoming us home. Then came the bowls--piping hot, fragrant, and full of flavor. One sip of the broth and we were transported straight back to the bustling streets of Saigon, where time slowed and every bite was a memory reborn.
The atmosphere was laid-back yet full of life, the service warm and attentive, and every spoonful felt like an embrace from the past.
For anyone seeking not just a meal, but a journey--I wholeheartedly recommend it.“

“Great grilled pork banh mi!
Got take out grilled pork banh mi to go and enjoyed it outside in the Valencia Live night market. Fresh crispy and soft roll, good amount of grill porked, no excessive amount of Mayo to cover the lack of protein. Generous amount of fresh pickled carrots, cucumber slices, cilantro, and a coupe of slices of jalapeño. Yum… really great balance. Service with a smile also with the cashier and the gentleman that guided me to the cashier for my order is nice too. Will come again when I have a chance. Thanks to Valencia Live, got me out here and I stumbled upon this restaurant.“

“Ordered a beef pho during lunch. The quality is amazing and there are 3 types of beef (brisket, beef balls and flank). The portion is big but the price is super affordable. I work around the corner and I can’t believe I didn’t discover this little gem earlier. Definitely will come back and try other dishes.“

“Very good Bahn Mi, excellent vegetarian options; they use shredded/marinated tofu and their bread is always fresh. Great meatball sandwiches too. Service is Ok; you have to order through a tablet but they will help out if you need. Not a sit down place; there’s a table outside but it’s best to take it to go.“

“Excellent food. I’ve only been able to try the sandwiches, but the two I got were tasty. I tried the combo and the crispy duck. I’ll have to go back to try the pho. It just opened when I got there. They got my sandwiches very quick. The ambiance was nice and modern with plenty of seating. Service was nice and helpful. It’s a little more than what I’m use to for a Banh Mi Sandwich, but I have to take into consideration the neighborhood I’m purchasing it from. I’ll definitely come back.“

“Pho Ga is such a comforting stop when you’re craving a hearty bowl of chicken pho. We ordered both the classic pho ga and the curry pho ga, along with an order of egg rolls to share.
The regular pho ga had a clean, soothing broth — light but still flavorful, with tender slices of chicken and noodles that were soft and easy to slurp. It’s the kind of bowl that feels nourishing without being overly salty or greasy. The curry pho ga, on the other hand, was the standout for me. The broth was golden, aromatic, and layered with a subtle richness from the curry — something you don’t often find at most pho shops. It’s hearty and unique but still maintains that pho comfort factor.
Egg rolls came out hot and crispy, perfect with the dipping sauce and pickled veggies on the side. Service was quick and efficient, even though the restaurant was buzzing during lunch.
Overall, a reliable spot for chicken pho lovers, and the curry pho is absolutely worth a try if you’re looking for something a little different. Solid 4/5 in my book — satisfying, flavorful, and a place I’d happily revisit when the craving strikes.“

“Used to go there when they were on Lombard when my brother worked at the presidio. We would eat our subs at Chrissy field on a park bench. He lives in Maryland now and still asks if I still go there. I moved to the Valley and would dream about the best beef teriyaki sandwich I’ve ever had.“

“Best sandwich ever in Excelsior area The bread is always crunchy and the meat is amazingly flavorful. My always choice is of course #6 grilled pork with well-seasoned meat and abundantly fresh veggies. #3 combination is also a should-try . It is what I believe the most traditional one. Besides these, a must-have is definitely Vietnamese ice coffee. It is made strong and sweet beautifully bringing me back the flavor which I always miss when being away from home. A strongly- recommended spot when you are in the area...“

“Solid vietnamese food in the sunset district. The vermicelli dish was great. I love the seasoned pork and the tang from the pickled vegetables. We all ordered pho and that was pretty good as well. The meat was not overcooked as long as you ready it before it sits too long in the hot broth.“

“I'm lucky to live close to this super cute and quiet corner spot with big windows that make you feel like part of the neighborhood. I tend toward vegetarian but I recently treated myself to the vermicelli with duck and I'm glad I did. “When you're not feeling too well, and need some hot and soupy goodness, try out this hole in a wall family restaurant that specializes in Vietnamese pho ga. It's chicken noodles. If you feel adventurous, go with the chicken and intestines, which is actually very small strips of chicken and thin sliced gizzards and liver. You also get your choice of regular pho that gives your mouth some springy chewing satisfaction, thin vermicelli style, or slurpy knife cut style noodles. Sticks to your ribs, clears your sinus and friendly to your wallet.
The place is not where I'll bring a first date. Bare bones wall, sounds echoing all over the place.
The service is brisk, but sufficient.
Only metered steet parking available and you will feel pretty lucky if you can find a spot within a block if this restaurant.“

“The pho, noticeably fragrant. 20 hours of simmering evident in the deepness of taste, buttery from the marrow drawn from bones. Clean and translucent broth, an indicator of quality. The wait time, a result of perfectly boiled-to-order rice noodles. What’s missing in decor is over-compensated by taste. Come for a rare-find bowl of solid noodle soup — no frills, but very simply delicious.“
