The ramen itself was pretty good, but due to the crowd, things like utensils and side dishes on the table weren’t always restocked in time. “Kumi Café is one of those hidden gems you find and just keep coming back to. My husband and I have been here multiple times, and every visit is just as good — if not better — than the last.

The service is always amazing. The staff is kind, fast, and really on top of things without ever making you feel rushed. They create the kind of experience that makes you feel genuinely taken care of.

Today, we had the Korean short rib, the bento box with gyoza and a California roll, and the tuna poke bowl. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. I normally don’t even like California rolls, but theirs are so good — fresh, not too mayo-heavy, and the rice is just right. My husband said his poke bowl was refreshing and delicious, and I couldn’t stop stealing bites.

We’ve also tried the sashimi and the chicken katsu curry on past visits, and both are incredible. The sashimi is super fresh and generous, and the curry — especially the chicken katsu version — is rich, comforting, and packed with flavor. Definitely one of our favorites on the menu.

“Wow the ramen here is so delicious! My husband and I got the Yokohama shoyu and the tonkotsu ramen, which were good. The broth of both is super flavorful and authentic. Restaurant is nice and modern, but I’m taking one star off because we had to end our meal early after a huge party came in with screaming kids and the servers couldn’t quiet them down. I will come back on a weekday instead“

“This is my favorite ramen and karage place to go. This particular location. Our server Ace and Jason helped in the clean up. Service was fast and very transparent when what my daughter want was not available. He offers suggestions or other options which turns out to be even better. Thus, the 5 star rating.“

They charge $1 for literally the smallest piece I've ever seen and when I called to voice my concern about feeling ripped off, they didn't care. “The 27 Curry Ramen is amazing. 4 out of 6 of us at dinner ordered it, and everyone loved it. I have no garlic chips and add spicy oil to it to give it even more flavor. I come to Raki Raki as much as I can as I'm never disappointed in my meal. A few locations make it convenient to visit. There's the one on Clairmont Mesa Blvd, on in Rancho Penasquitos and one in Mira Mesa. If you visit the on in PQ, be warned that they have limited seating.“

“We got the veggie ramen, it was very good.

We also got the spicy tuna bowl-not great. It came out immediately and looked like it had been pre-made, perhaps was sitting there for some time, the lettuce on it was old/wilted. I think if you come here just stick to the ramen it appears it’s what they do best.

Service was very good.

One more observation: The doors of the restaurant were rather dirty, especially the push bars on the doors. It was a strange thing that just stood out to me, but they felt sticky-maybe it was an off night. 🤷🏻‍♀️“

“I really enjoyed the food. We got 2 sushi rolls and chicken katsu. All 3 were delicious. My only complaint would be the miso soup which had an odd taste, I believe due to the bowl holding the scent and slight taste of whatever soap was used to clean it. Other than that, it was an enjoyable meal.“

“Covid-19 take out can be a hit or miss with food tasting like it's container. This place did not disappoint. I ordered the Vegan Ramen for a late lunch. Inside the restaurant is following proper protocol and is very clean. I have always ordered Vegan Ramen anywhere I visit outside of California, and have ordered all over San Diego. This by far is the BEST Vegan Ramen out there. The coconut milk, chili and miso broth is well balanced and buttery, the noodles and added ingredients are well proportioned, the tofu is not at all mushy or greasy..The noodles are fresh and delicious. for a couple dollars more you can add more noodles.. Definitely a stop for some comfort food!“

“Amazing sushi and noodles at Ayu Sushi & Noodles in Pacific Highlands Ranch in Carmel Valley. We loved everything, the tempura udon, the yume, sachi, and anata rolls, the bluefin crudo, and the salmon hand rolls. Great selection of species on the menu, next time will need to get more nigiri and sashimi. Great service, friendly and quick. We sat on the dog friendly patio. Recommend!“

“I visited Ototo with my family where I was able to order sushi rolls without rice (dietary need) - ototo roll, which is wrapped in cucumber. This is excellent.
Everyone ordered their favorite sushi rolls along with appetizers: shishito peppers and edamame.

“The food was absolutely phenomenal! They had both Japanese and Korean options to choose from with both of foods being executed extremely well. They had a great quantity of food with the sushi combo and bibimbap. Furthermore, they were able to accommodate substitutions within the sushi combo which is great for those with allergies. All around would recommend and will eat there again!“
