“My friend, Mike, who lives nearby with his wife, raved about it so much that my BF and I decided to come after a short trip to Marin. It was everything that he described and more. It was fantastic! Excellent food and atmosphere. Will definitely add to my list of favorites and will recommend to my Palo Alto friends!“

“Excellent place for lunch or dinner. The first time I entered a few days ago as a surprise because I didn't know the place and I got carried away by my curiosity. Today again I came out more than happy. The relationship between price and quality of food and service is perfect. The people who work deserve all the respect and recognition. Fresh and very good quality ingredients, treated with respect and head. The burgers, especially, are spectacular. Competent and very attentive service. In a word: absolutely recommended site. Also, a detail: the entire place is open and visible to customers. Always a very good sign and a lot of confidence, when there is nothing to hide. Congratulations!“

“Delicious soufflés. We tried the shiitake garlic basil for the entree and the chocolate one for dessert. Didn’t order any appetizers which worked out since we could barely finish the meal, though we did have some of the baguette they brought out before the meal.
It’s a joy to watch the chef work in the kitchen! This cafe is a San Francisco landmark so make a reservation and go there to enjoy a 3-hr long relaxed meal.“

“Had a great experience at Maison Nico today! I ordered a Pain au Chocolat and matcha, and both exceeded my expectations. The Pain au Chocolat was beautifully made - so light and delicate with those perfect flaky, crispy layers on top that you expect from a well-crafted pastry.
What really stood out was their matcha. Finally found a place that serves it the proper way - no added sugar at all! It's refreshing to taste the pure, earthy flavor of quality matcha instead of the overly sweet versions you get at most cafes.
I was fortunate to walk in without a line, but within several minutes there was a steady stream of customers forming a queue. That's always a good sign that locals know this place is worth the wait. The quality of their pastries and attention to authentic preparation definitely shows. Will be back to try more items!“

“Thank you chef Josh! Excellent experience!
Service: 10/10 we arrived early and were seated right away. The host was friendly and greeted us genuinely. Our server brought water, olives and almonds and extra olives for my wife with almond allergies so she can try the yummy olives. Amazing detail to my parties food allergies and checked to make sure the food was safe and had alternatives to accommodate.
Food: 10/10 the food was delicious. French influenced California cuisine. Fresh high quality ingredients. Sauces that enhanced the flavors and a balance of umami in all dishes. It was great that one person can have the prefix menu and others at the table can order al a cart. You can also order just one dish from prefix menu. The duck was perfect, the 3 cheeses with toast paired perfectly with the Bordeaux. The smoked trout was very well seasoned and balanced nicely with the pickled cauliflower. The hanger steak was super tender and flavorful with no dairy!!!
Wine paring is excellent. The selection of French wines is reasonable and great for food pairing.
I think the josey baker sourdough beats tartine country bread! The warm
Chocolate cookie with ice cream was delicious, the polenta cake with cream and rhubarb was shockingly good!
Ambience: 8/10 I love the simple open decor. Bar, dining and kitchen blend together. It wasn’t too noisy because the ceiling pads dampened it.
Price: $$ (great value)
Overall, an amazing neighborhood up leveled cuisine in a casual setting. We will be back with friends!“

“A cozy but stylish place for dinner! We ordered a la cart but did get the uni Creme Brulee (which is worth) and the crispy rice with tuna; both were excellent, next time I’d love to try the crab flavor as well. The burrata is also really refreshing and the peaches works quite well. We saved room for dessert and the hojicha panne cotta was very different, but I enjoyed the mixing of all the different flavors. Servers were very friendly and attentive. I really enjoyed our meal here.“

“One65 was an amazing discovery on our trip to San Francisco. Having spent the first half of our life in Montréal, Québec, Canada where it was hard to find a bad restaurant, we were absolutely amazed by this Bistro which looks more like a high end dining experience. The menu online & the photos attracted us to this location but we were amazed by the well timed service, the crisp white tablecloths, the table setting and the pleasant and calm atmosphere. My choices of charcuterie platter was perfectly sized; the chicken & the pork rillettes where a wonderful surprise. My husband had an onion tart with the crust as perfect as they get & which I envied. He loved his halibut, moist and tender and I raved over my grilled half lobster, so tender that I found myself munching on the shell parts as well. My bread pudding was not of overwhelming size & perfectly flavored. Don chose the Affogato (scoop of vanilla gelato « drowned » with a shot of hot espresso). We wanted to go back today but they are closed on Sundays.?“

“Exceeded my expectations! I’ve been wanting to go here for a month or so… and just had a lovely lunch with my aunt and son. A new neighborhood favorite!! Came just before the lunch rush on a Saturday and sat right down. Friendly charming Service, bright large windows full of sun, colorful fun art murals and intense flavors in food. Burger with Brie, bacon and caramelized onions stole the show, but smoked salmon egg crossiant was tasty and salad with house cured jamon was killer with huge portion. Can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu soon“

“The cocktail was excellent at Quince! They have a collaboration going on with Bar Agricole currently and the cocktails are really well thought out. Craig is very hospitable!
The service was excellent and all the staff is very friendly and professional. I really enjoyed meeting Neev, the service manager.
The food was very tasty - especially the John Dory. You get great canapés and some sweets in the end as well.
It's a great deal for a 3 Michelin Star restaurant to be able to experience some of the dishes a la carte in the beautiful Salon room.
The interior is beautifully done!“

“This was our first dinner at Bistro La Chaumiere and we really enjoyed it. For appetizers we tried the prawns in tomato sauce and the bacon, onion and cheese crepe, and for our entrees we tried the beef bourguignon and a side order of fries with aioli. We had the profiteroles for dessert. Everything was delicious and we look forward to returning.“

“We had a nice and relaxing Mother's Day Dinner. The wine and charcuterie were a great start. The Pate de Maison was amazing! We enjoyed the Sunday special chicken dinner, with salad, and pommes de frites. The herbs on the chicken made it a quite special dish. We finished with the creme brulee, which capped off a great meal.“

“The star of this experience was the food each entrée was excellent. The service also was good. The only problem was we were way too close to the next table and the now is level got boisterous and I could not hear my dinner companion. Our reservation works for seven and by 8:00. It was simply too loud. However, I highly recommend this restaurant “

“Stopped here waiting an hour for the bart to open. I knew nothing about this cafe previously, so it was my delight to see the beautiful atmosphere present in such a compact space. I got a Gibraltar which I had no experience with, one sugar/sweetener later and it was a relaxing way to begin my Sunday. Found by accident but will be returning, great place.“

“Be a hero to your friends. "Wow! Thanks for the (fill in insanely good pastry here)"
Be a champion to The City, combat SFs reputation by directing tourists walking by towards the tent.
Be a fiend to your pancreas. Look at all those pastries! Let me count my Weigh...screw it. Pastry cream is my friend.
Be greedy. Eat and eat and eat. And, what is that one? Can I have one of those too? Eat more. When only one pie is left, don't say "you can have it" to the next person in line...give them some credit, they wouldnt have said it either.
Be spoiled. Never eat a Frenchish dessert at anything less than a Michelin listed restaurant ever again.
Be obnoxious. Tell all your friends "this is okay, but I know this Fren...". Watch their eyes roll. Roll your own eyes at their lava cakes and sacher tortes.
Be cold. It's the outer Richmond / Land's End region. Brrrrrrr.
Be glad you read this review now. The French Riviera is calling, and aint no one getting any younger, you know.
Minus one star for errant golf balls landing in the chocolate mousse. Fore!
Vegetarian options: Lookout for the meatloaf mousse.
Dietary restrictions: Lactose intolerant? Sorry.
Parking: So weird, it's the only place in the city with actual parking. Damn it, should have kept my mouth shut.
Kid-friendliness: Most kids are very friendly
Wheelchair accessibility: It's on the sidewalk, so yeah“

“You will not be disappointed if you dine at Bombay Brasserie for brunch. The dinning room is stunning and the staff is welcoming and inviting. The menu has a variety of options and the 3-course brunch is great value. We started our culinary journey with a Bombay Spritz and a Paan cocktail. Both were excellent. For starters we ordered the Avocado Bhel and the Coconut Shrimp. The Bhel was incredible, the blending of the spices with the ingredients makes this dish an must try. The Coconut Shrimp were crispy and cooked to perfection, don't forget to add the chili sauce to the shrimp. For our entrees we had "Our Chicken and Waffle" and Chicken Biryani. The waffle took the traditional fav and elevated it to a whole new level with Spicy Fried Chicken and the Dosa waffle. The Biryani, was one of the best we have had outside of India. We also tried the Naanza, which a a great treat! To end the amazing meal we ordered the Crepe and Carrot Halwa Tart. The crepe was so silky and the flavors warmed the palate. The tart with its sweet and creamy textures was a great way to end a fabulous meal. What truly made the experience great was how the staff continually checked on our table to make sure we had everything we need to enjoy our meal. Chef Thomas came by our table several times to check on us as well as the other dinners in the restaurant. This small gesture by the Chef made us feel like we were the only dinners, even though there were other tables. Do not pass up on the chance to dine at Bombay Brasserie.“

“I felt like we were back in a Michelin starred restaurant in Provence eating here. I loved sitting at the counter and watching the sou chefs prepare and dress the dishes. It was the first time since then that we got to enjoy Monkfish. A rare find! And cooked beautifully with a light curry sauce. We did the 4 course option and were stuffed after, it was a lot of food but well priced! The strawberry gelato desert with geranium foam was a memorable and perfect ending to the rich meal. The staff was attentive. We will definitely go back as they change their menu daily. Truly an unexpected gem to find on a random corner of the mission.“
