“It had been at least a decade if not longer since I last visited Zuni Cafe and it felt just as it did all those years ago in the best way possible! Lovely ambience as always and great service. I raved about the chicken for months to my kids and although the bread salad was perfect, the chicken served was quite dry. Aside from that, we enjoyed a lovely afternoon at Zuni“

“My friend, Mike, who lives nearby with his wife, raved about it so much that my BF and I decided to come after a short trip to Marin. It was everything that he described and more. It was fantastic! Excellent food and atmosphere. Will definitely add to my list of favorites and will recommend to my Palo Alto friends!“

“Excellent place for lunch or dinner. The first time I entered a few days ago as a surprise because I didn't know the place and I got carried away by my curiosity. Today again I came out more than happy. The relationship between price and quality of food and service is perfect. The people who work deserve all the respect and recognition. Fresh and very good quality ingredients, treated with respect and head. The burgers, especially, are spectacular. Competent and very attentive service. In a word: absolutely recommended site. Also, a detail: the entire place is open and visible to customers. Always a very good sign and a lot of confidence, when there is nothing to hide. Congratulations!“

“Was it worth a few months for this reservation? I hate to admit it, but yes. Even after you’re seated, get ready to wait an hour for your soufflés to come out. But when they do, you’ll be in heaven. The soufflés were warm, light, fluffy and rich. We tried the salmon & asparagus, mushroom, and chocolate soufflés. All of them were perfectly done and delicious.“

“Pain au chocolat was phenomenal. Canele was mediocre. I had high expectations for a French bakery. Seasonal croissant seemed to be a berry crumble type double baked croissant. Tasty and fresh! Went on a weekday morning with no plans so the casual atmosphere and no line was nice and relaxing.
Their pate en croute assortment looked like art. Would’ve loved to try but hopefully another time.“

“We went here for restaurant week and while I wasn’t expecting much, I was underwhelmed by some of the dishes like the salad and the focaccia (with butter). I got the Wagyu Steak which was cooked well, and my favorite was the Chocolate Pot D’Creme. No qualms with the service, in fact the staff were friendly, and pace was ok. Overall it was just ok.
Perhaps their regular menu would be much better.“

“One65 was an amazing discovery on our trip to San Francisco. Having spent the first half of our life in Montréal, Québec, Canada where it was hard to find a bad restaurant, we were absolutely amazed by this Bistro which looks more like a high end dining experience. The menu online & the photos attracted us to this location but we were amazed by the well timed service, the crisp white tablecloths, the table setting and the pleasant and calm atmosphere. My choices of charcuterie platter was perfectly sized; the chicken & the pork rillettes where a wonderful surprise. My husband had an onion tart with the crust as perfect as they get & which I envied. He loved his halibut, moist and tender and I raved over my grilled half lobster, so tender that I found myself munching on the shell parts as well. My bread pudding was not of overwhelming size & perfectly flavored. Don chose the Affogato (scoop of vanilla gelato « drowned » with a shot of hot espresso). We wanted to go back today but they are closed on Sundays.?“

“Wonderful stop for lunch, and decided quickly to cancel the rest of the afternoon, split a bottle wine (fun selection), have apps, entrees, and dessert, and slow down and enjoy.
Never was rushed, had great service, enjoyable conversations with the team, and went back the next day.“

“Quince is utter perfection. A beautiful restaurant. As a solo diner, I sat at the 4 seat bar. Service was extraordinary, every dish and glass of wine was explained. And the food is tremendous - from the small pre-meal tastings to the small post-meal dessert tastings, everything is delicious and perfectly prepared. The tasting menu included caviar, fish, pasta, lamb and figs. The wine pairings were just right. A wonderful lunch ever.“

“I’ve ordered from Chouquet’s before on Uber Eats and it was so good that I had to come in and try it in person, and it was amazing! The staff were so friendly and attentive. Roy and Stefan were especially great and made us feel so welcome.
My family and I came in to celebrate my brother’s birthday, and Roy surprised him with a delicious birthday crème brûlée. The food itself was incredible. Our table was split between the Short Rib (tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked) and the Steak & Fries, which came with a rich black peppercorn sauce that tied the whole dish together beautifully.
My brother and I both have gluten allergies, and Roy took the time to go through the menu and explain everything thoroughly. They had plenty of gluten-free options, which made dining here so easy and enjoyable.
I highly recommend Chouquet’s for anyone looking for great food, warm service, and an overall wonderful dining experience. We’ll definitely be back!“

“This wine bar is one of my favorites and it never disappoints. The wine list is always excellent, the escargots are truly the best, and the flatbread is amazing. I’ve been coming here for years, and I can honestly say it’s my go-to wine bar. Perfect for a date or for a full catching-up with friends“

“All the food seemed a bit overcooked. Caesar salad was drenched in dressing; I would order dressing on the side. Cheese in the French onion soup was granular, not melt; my friend ordered scrambled eggs instead of sunny side up for her crepe but we couldn't find any egg. Waiter said it was scrambled into the crepe. ??? Crème fraiche on the crepe was heavy like the dressing in the Caesar - again, order it on the side. Wait staff was stand-offish with little congeniality. Best thing I can say is that it was pleasant to people watch from the outdoor table.“

“We went for their early 3 course prix fixe. There were ample choices ( 3 salads and 3 pastas and grilled salmon for the regular price plus 4 types of gelato. My companion had the ribeye for the higher priced offering and said it was good and he would eat it again. The staff was pleasant and accommodating to everyone and helped a neighboring table celebrate a birthday. The ribeye came with super crunchy fries and little pots of ketchup and spicy mayo and a little pitcher of steak sauce. It was topped by 3 asparagus stalks. The salmon was also a substantial portion. It came with a drape of spinach and on top of a bed of quinoa with onions, cucumber and orange segments. I could have done without the orange segments. The steak came exactly the temperature that was ordered and the salmon was cooked through but not tough/dry. The downsides: parking is a bear, and the noise level from a big party and a table of 6 right next to us was a lot. It's a small , well decorateddin8ng room. Don't know why they need the 2 big screen TVs, but the World Series was on while we ate.“

“We celebrated a friend's Birthday here recently and were happy about everything. We were able to actually have a conversation because it wasn't noisy inside. The food is delicious and the staff took time to answer questions about the menu and made some excellent recommendations. It's also easy to take public transportation since the church street station is close by.“

“Be a hero to your friends. "Wow! Thanks for the (fill in insanely good pastry here)"
Be a champion to The City, combat SFs reputation by directing tourists walking by towards the tent.
Be a fiend to your pancreas. Look at all those pastries! Let me count my Weigh...screw it. Pastry cream is my friend.
Be greedy. Eat and eat and eat. And, what is that one? Can I have one of those too? Eat more. When only one pie is left, don't say "you can have it" to the next person in line...give them some credit, they wouldnt have said it either.
Be spoiled. Never eat a Frenchish dessert at anything less than a Michelin listed restaurant ever again.
Be obnoxious. Tell all your friends "this is okay, but I know this Fren...". Watch their eyes roll. Roll your own eyes at their lava cakes and sacher tortes.
Be cold. It's the outer Richmond / Land's End region. Brrrrrrr.
Be glad you read this review now. The French Riviera is calling, and aint no one getting any younger, you know.
Minus one star for errant golf balls landing in the chocolate mousse. Fore!
Vegetarian options: Lookout for the meatloaf mousse.
Dietary restrictions: Lactose intolerant? Sorry.
Parking: So weird, it's the only place in the city with actual parking. Damn it, should have kept my mouth shut.
Kid-friendliness: Most kids are very friendly
Wheelchair accessibility: It's on the sidewalk, so yeah“

“Stopped here waiting an hour for the bart to open. I knew nothing about this cafe previously, so it was my delight to see the beautiful atmosphere present in such a compact space. I got a Gibraltar which I had no experience with, one sugar/sweetener later and it was a relaxing way to begin my Sunday. Found by accident but will be returning, great place.“

“Bombay Brasserie truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we entered, we could feel the warmth and energy of the place — the ambience is vibrant yet comfortable, the food is beautifully presented, and the flavours are rich, layered and genuinely authentic without being overwhelming.
A very special mention for Lilian — she was absolutely incredible. Attentive without being intrusive, genuinely warm, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. She helped us choose the perfect dishes based on our preferences and explained everything with so much enthusiasm that it made the entire dining experience even more enjoyable.
Overall, Bombay Brasserie has left a deep impression. Amazing food, beautiful space, and exceptional service. Would happily return and would highly recommend“

“I felt like we were back in a Michelin starred restaurant in Provence eating here. I loved sitting at the counter and watching the sou chefs prepare and dress the dishes. It was the first time since then that we got to enjoy Monkfish. A rare find! And cooked beautifully with a light curry sauce. We did the 4 course option and were stuffed after, it was a lot of food but well priced! The strawberry gelato desert with geranium foam was a memorable and perfect ending to the rich meal. The staff was attentive. We will definitely go back as they change their menu daily. Truly an unexpected gem to find on a random corner of the mission.“
