“I first visited this amazing local deli in 1989-1990. I remembered the half loaves of bread stacked high with a pile of my choice of meats and cheeses. Although I was only 18-19, Compagno’s established my standard for an amazing sandwich. 32 years later I brought my sons here for lunch. Same delicious goodness a generation later.“

“Lovely place! It was almost full when we arrived on Sunday but they kindly gave us a table at the bar. The bartender Kyle was super friendly, the wine was good, and the pasta was delicious. We ordered the rigatoni and ravioli and would recommend both. Nice atmosphere too - thanks for a great night!“

“Being an old-ish Army Vet, I had to try the SOS, as it was the go to breakfast in the 80's Army. I was not disappointed with the flavor or the memories! Great, efficient servers, service and food. 12 stars outta 10 stars! (When the VA appointments send me this way again, I'll definitely be getting my breakfast here!)“

Every dish was prepared with care and attention to detail, making each bite a delight. “Don’t let the gas station location fool you — that’s correct! This spot serves some seriously amazing food. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and the portions were incredibly generous. The hospitality was just as impressive as the food; the staff made us feel genuinely welcome.
One thing to note: on holidays and busy weekends, they do sell out of some popular items, so it’s worth planning ahead or getting there early.
Definitely a hidden gem and absolutely a place I’d stop by again.“

“I had done a search for the best clam chowder in Monterey and they are at the top of almost every list, and they were right! I got the clam chowder in the garlic sourdough bowl I highly recommend them! My wife, Michele got risotto with caramelized onions, shrimp and sole. We had a view of Monterey Bay and some sea lions playing. Our server, Giovanny, was phenomenal! He brought Michele a piece of complimentary cheesecake and a rose for her birthday. 🌹 I had the chocolate creme brûlée. Great start to our mini-vacay in Monterey!“

“I’ll offer a better than expected review. Our party of five went for Sunday brunch. 1/2 wait for an outdoor table. Excellent Southwest eggs Benedict; chicken fettuccini; fruit salad and Cinnamon toast special with eggs. Chocolate Oreo cake for dessert. Excellent service for a relaxing Sunday. “One of the few Sushi joints that can accommodate our dog. Nigiri was fresh with large pieces. Rolls are delicious and crafted well. Miso soup and salad also very nice.
Can get a bit busy but the servers are attentive and super nice.“

“I tried something new today, the hot Turkey open face sandwich smothered in a wonderful mushroom gravy. OMG 😱 So good ! And my salad was the perfect size to complement the large portion of the hot Turkey. I added a little Tabasco cause that what I do. I thought I was finished until the little waitress offered dessert 🍨. I ordered a piece of their home made apple 🍎 pie 🎉🎊😱. People let me tell you this is a bucket lister. With out a doubt the best apple pie I have ever had. And yes they make it from scratch. Great lunch experience today ! I ordered a piece of pie for a friend who is not feeling well and dropped it off to her. Thanks Victorian Corner for such a pleasant atmosphere to have my lunch 🙏.“

“My husband & I arrived at opening and were greeted and seated right away. Customer service was great and the food was absolutely delicious. My husband and I both ordered Lunch Box specials and shared a J's Maki roll. Food was fresh and our server was attentive, checking in on us every little while to make sure everything was okay. Mika Sushi is definitely a gem in Carmel Valley Village and we'll definitely be back again.“

“Just got food poisoning from this location. Drive thru person was also extremely rude and talking to someone on his phone while taking my payment. Never said one word to me , just held out his hand for my card and handed it back to me. No thank you, no nothing... NASTY“
