“This place has been on our radar for a while and we finally made it in on a Sunday right when they opened at 4 PM. We were literally the first ones through the door and right away, we knew we were in good hands.
The first thing we noticed was how immaculately clean the place was. The second was Paul. I believe he’s the manager and honestly, he made the whole experience memorable. From the moment we walked in, he greeted us like we were regulars and not first-timers. Even though we’ve done Mongolian BBQ before, he still walked us through everything with genuine energy. You can tell he truly cares that every customer has a great meal.
It’s rare these days to find someone who takes that kind of pride in their role. Paul clearly loves what he does and it shows in every interaction.
As for the food, it’s exactly what you want from a Mongolian BBQ spot. Fresh, crisp vegetables, quality meats, and a setup where you build your own bowl exactly how you like it. What stood out right away was how clean the food bar was. Everything looked fresh and well-maintained.
The sauce station is tucked along the back wall, and again, Paul was right there to offer some pro tips. He explained that the sauces are a little lighter in consistency, and that’s intentional. It gives you the flexibility to load up on flavor while still allowing the heat to steam the meat and crisp the vegetables properly. And yes, it definitely worked. The bowl came out perfect.
The cooks were fast, friendly, and focused. No long waits. They’ve clearly got the process down. After your food is cooked, there’s a small station with extra toppings like sesame seeds and additional sauces. Soy sauce is already waiting at your table, which was a nice touch.
We went for a second round, and once again Paul came by to check in and encourage us to change up our mix a bit. That little suggestion made the second round even better than the first. We also grabbed a few egg rolls. They were hot, golden, and full of flavor. Definitely worth adding on.
To finish, we had to try the soft serve. Let me just say, this was not your typical filler ice cream. It was creamy, smooth, and actually tasted like real vanilla. You could tell it wasn’t the cheap kind that comes out of a giant bulk machine. It was the perfect way to end the meal.
For a restaurant that’s been around over 40 years, it’s incredible how fresh and well-run everything still feels. Between the food quality, the clean environment, and the genuine hospitality, we left full and happy.
We’ll definitely be back. If you’re reading this, don’t think twice because Su’s Mongolian Barbeque is really a gem that actually lives up to the hype! Now Go!!!“

“Total Score: 8.05
Little bit sussy, faucet was loose and paper dispenser was broke. Also so many random cleaning supplies
Customer Service: 4.75/5
Very easy to grab, and refilled our water and napkins without asking. Super nice too.
Ambiance: 4.25/5
Clean and good lighting, and nice signs. Something about drinking beer
Food: 4.5/5
Had a huuuuge variety of foods, all tasted good!!! Huge fan of the mushroom soup ugh was a bomb of flavor. Meats were great, except the lamb and beef were a bit on the drier side.

“A popular Korean BBQ restaurant that has been around for many years in the Koreatown of Santa Clara. They have four sets of menu for 2-4 people. The waitress would ask you to pick out the meats as soon as you enter the door before you sit down at the table. Our waitress recommended brisket, pork belly, bulgogi (sliced beef), and galbi (beef short ribs), as well as the steamed egg for the kids. We also added a spicy BBQ chicken. The brisket and pork belly were a bit dry but still pretty tasty; the bulgogi tasted a bit too sweet; the galbi and the spicy BBQ chicken were the best. You can dip the meats in four different kinds of sauces (fermented bean sauce, soy sauce, spicy sauce, and sesame oil). Their side dishes were all very good. The set also cane with a seafood pancake and kimchi fried rice or plain rice. There was a lot of food for the set. We barely finished everything. Service was very efficient.“

“First time here, and I very much enjoyed the experience! There's complementary tea and nuts to munch on if you dine in. The brisket noodles also came with a broth that gave the dish a refined deconstructed Chinese ramen vibe with a delicate flavour. The service and portions were superb, and I look forward to coming back!“

“This place is great. Staff are awesome, food was authentic, and portions large. I would bring my Korean friends here. Def recommend for a comfy, authentic dinner with friends.
Parking: Pretty small lot with a lot of businesses sharing but street parking isn’t bad.“

“Chungdam was a unique combination of simplistic feng shui & classic atmosphere feels. It felt elevated-better than your typical greasy BBQ restaurant. It was nice to have everything prepared & cooked for you. I personally don’t like going to BBQ places where I have to prepare it all - no coordination lol. We ordered the marinaded shirt ribs & a rib eye with all the delicious variations of sides. The sake is so smooth! I usually prefer hot sake more but this was a high quality brand & it was well worth the price.
Definitely would come back for another round to try more dishes!“

“Went there with a person who knew what to order, so made it super easy. Sit back, cook and eat. Place was clean and servers were attentive and helping us occasionally cook and make sure we don't overcook. Place was a bit cramped with smaller tables. Place a certainly not upscale or in an upscale neighborhood but the food is taste is worth it. Kimchi, cold potatoe salad and cold noodles were a great touch.“

“It's an amazing and conducive place.. i like all the foods very delicious and affordable price.. so, to all people out there try it!!“
“We recently ordered a shipment online. The minimum order was rather large but there's plenty to choose from so it was easy and it came fresh and refrigerated. Most of it can be frozen and it was all delicious after defrosting. We tried the sausage, ravioli and some sauces. The Gigli was a hit with the kids who are fussy eaters. The Linguica that I'd heard about previously is also superb. We cooked it in soups and stir fry dishes as well as on its own. Will definitely order again as the pasta/sauce combos make for an easy meal.“

“I've only ordered takeout from this location, but I can tell the restaurant itself has that sort of local Hawaiian type of vibe. Yes, the portions are really big. My wife and I just ordered food for lunch and it'll definitely feed us at dinner too (and possibly a little bit for breakfast). The last L&L we would go to (Fremont) skimped on the portions, but it was the closest to our house at the time so we didn't really have a choice. Now going to this L&L (Homestead Rd., Santa Clara), we're definitely going to go here more often just because of the portion size! Highly recommended!“

“This fried chicken was so good!! All white meat, boneless and skinless. The breading is SO well seasoned and there’s lots of it to crunch on! I ordered the tenders, which were real pieces of chicken and not in uniformed, machine-cut shapes. I got a biscuit with my dish which was totally legit based on the southern cooking I’ve had in past. Steaming hot and moist. Not buttery so possibly made with lard. I had veggies for a side to try to ease my guilt for all the other calories. Those were definitely fresh, seasoned, and varied. Our table wasn’t clean but I didn’t care after walking around for 8 hours with two boys.“

“Very delicious Korean food - our go to spot. If you order the noodles, rice, or meat dishes, it can be enough for two people. The stone bowl bibimbap is my favorite here, I order with tofu and vegetables. Many side dishes provided. The Korean bbq meats can be a bit expensive. Like every Korean bbq, you have to order two meat dishes, which can come out to at least $100 bucks. That’s a bit much on my end, but my wife says the meat quality is fantastic. The service is fantastic - the ladies always do a great job here. We keep coming back with friends.“

“We've come to the age where we value quality over quantity when it comes to food; gone are the days of overstuffing ourselves at AYCE locations. As a result, we're always in search of new restaurants where the food really hits the spot and leaves us feeling satisfied. One of my friends recommended Baekjeong, as it was his favorite and go-to kbbq spot in the bay area. I was able to book a same-day reservation for our party of 6, and we ordered 2 large beef combos. The staff cooks the meat for you, and provides around 6 banchans and 2 salad types. Our server was Risa, who was super friendly and attentive, and we felt right at home with her. She kept everything running smoothly and made us feel so welcome. The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly. Since then, many days have passed, but I'll have moments where I think back and crave the food we had at Baekjeong. I'm always looking forward to the next time I can come back.
Additional notes: Free wifi is available. Restaurant is on the exterior of Valley Fair mall. Parking is by the Stevens Creek parking garage with a short walk through the mall; most of the parking directly in front is only for the bank. Entrance is on the first floor, but restaurant is on the second floor with both stairs and elevator access. There usually is a host downstairs at the entrance to admit you, and you wait in the waiting room upstairs. They give a free soda to designated drivers!“
