“As a vegan believe it or not I struggle to have variety in Santa Cruz, the options are limited. Today I visited this European interior (like a Scandinavian cafe) amazing eatery n downtown Santa Cruz. The man that assisted me was extremely hospitable and helped navigate the vegan menu he offered me. The falafel had incredibly bright flavors and not only the first few bites but all the way through. The mango matcha was too die for and you guessed it vegan as well. Please visit this impressive place whether vegan or not“

“At Walnut avenue you can "Go vegan" by subbing the scrambled eggs with scrambled tofu, and they are so good! I had a pesto scramble with tomates, a bagel and a cup of fruit. Walnut Avenue cafe is my favorite breakfast place in Santa Cruz! The food is delicious, the seating is comfortable, and the staff is very nice!“

“I absolutely despise this place! NOT BECAUSE THE DOZEN GLAZED I GOT WAS BAD.....BUT BECAUSE WE DONT HAVE THIS PLACE BACK EAST AND I WAS RAISED ON DUNKIN DONUTS....I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE BEST! THEY LIED TO ME! I HAD NO IDEA SUCH A GLAZED DONUT EXISTED. WHEN I WALKED IN THERE AT 0544 AND SAW THE DONUTS IN THE DISPLAY CASE THE GATES OF HEAVEN OPENED AND THE ANGELS SANG! THE SERVICE WAS FRIENDLY GENUINELY FRIENDLY NOT THAT SCRIPTED STANDARD FORMALITIES CRAP. 💪🏾🤎🥰“

“Nice grab and go sandwich place that’s family run since 1948. I opted for the avocado special sandwich, which is a vegetarian option, and have the bread toasted.
The bread was nicely made, the vegetables are fresh. An easy healthy quick bite.“

“Incredibly good food. I got their Volcano roll, and it was to die for. We also got more of their traditional dishes, and they were equally as delicious. Definitely worth the stop, as it'll be on our regular list when we visit the area.“

“We had such a wonderful experience at MJA thanks to Ron! We were a bit overwhelmed by the size of the wine list and thankful that Ron guided us through our tasting. It felt like we were at the tasting with an old friend! We were very impressed with each wine we tasted. And highly recommend stopping in!“

“I don’t understand how an amazing coffee shop can, at there discretion, close there coffee shop at any time they want? Why would u treat loyal customers this way. Sometimes posted in Instagram, sometimes not. So inconsiderate of daily customers. Very disappointing to walk all the way there, excited for my greeting from the staff and my great latte, only to find a note on the door, closed at 11:30? How can u feel good about people showing up and not open and it isn’t even close to 3:00? Confusing to me how everything else but this one issue can be perfect?“

“Awesome tasting here! Recommend sitting at the bar, John was really great to chat with and really passionate about his wines. Came on a Wednesday when the market was on right outside and he was cool with me bringing oysters in. I have been to pretty much every mexcian restraunt and food truck in Santa Cruz multiple times and this place delivers the tacos with the highest quality meats, cooked in the cleanest oil, with the freshest veggies prepared to the highest standard. This is my #1 spot.“
“Wonderful afternoon at Madson Wines. Great little spot to sit and chill over a tasting and glass of wine. All the wines we tasted were great and the service and attention we received from Charlotte and Ali made us feel right at home. Made sure to stay on top of our needs even as the place filled completely up. Extra points for the oysters from Parker Picks pop-up oyster bar. Would give six stars if I could. Definitely will be back.“

“Great drinks and amazing vibes! The staff are friendly, and I love the atmosphere here. My only mystery is how a small chai, listed at $5.50, somehow came out to over $8 pre-tip - I think there might be a mistake in their system. Still, I’ll be back for the drinks and the energy!“

“This is my favorite booth at SAP when I go to Sharks games. You can see the arepas being grilled fresh and the fillings are so flavorful. The owners are very welcoming. I’m looking forward to the opening of their San Jose location since I haven’t been able to make it to Santa Cruz.“
