“Hiatus= opportunity for another stop in the LAtte tour. Today’s pilgrimage finds me in Sierra Madre at Syndicate, a fantastic find nestled comfortably downtown on Sierra Madre Blvd. Plenty of street parking and a beautiful place to take a stroll if you don’t score a spot immediately out front. The vibe is instantly welcoming, decor is colorfully minimalist, that’s probably not a thing, but it’s the best descriptor I have. The baristas are friendly, skilled and true devotees to all things coffee, even willing to share some potential sites to visit on the next LAtte stop. The coffee itself is excellent, rich, flavorful and no hint of bitterness. I went with oat milk this time and it paired perfectly with the blend, rich creamy, delicious! I can wholeheartedly recommend a visit should you find yourself in the area, or even if your not- expand your horizons and make it a destination, it’s worth it.“

“We had a wonderful cozy experience headlined with a delicious Turkey Cranberry Sandwich. My partner had a Chicken pesto which was scrumptious. The new owners are very courteous and took extra time to ensure we had everything we needed, even giving us a complimentary Cinnamon roll. The environment and location is as sweet of a neighborhood experience you can find in the LA area.“

“Anita’s cake is perfect in every way, even though I am not a big fan of sesame flavor cake but I have to say she has her magic way to make all ingredients blend in beautifully. This matcha sesame mousse cake is so soft and so smooth, u can taste the matcha and the sesame with the right amount of sweetness. This is the second cake I tried from her, her Earl gray cake is definitely heavenly and a must try. Her cakes are simply fantastic. Would want to try more.“

I ordered a custom birthday cake and it was better than any cake I could've ever dreamed of! absolutely perfect in every way visually. The taste and texture was phenomenal, even the non vegan/GF party guests were RAVING that it was the best cake they'd ever had. “Patty's was very communicative and responded quickly to our emails about our wedding cake. They made a cake exactly to our specifications and it tasted divine! We got the banana cake with guava filling and cream cheese frosting, and we got so many compliments on the taste. I applaud Patty's and can't wait to eat more of the leftovers :)“

I came late in the day so I sadly missed the egg tarts but they had plenty of po tarts which are basically milk cream custard in the tart forms. The pastry was so light and flaky with a rich and velvety filling!

I wanted a savory pastry too and asked the cashier which was their favorite, they recommended the spicy curry. This wasn't the best.It wasn't bad but it also wasn't spicy nor did it have much flavor. The pastry dough itself was so much better than the entirety of the item.“

“This place came to the rescue!!! The wedding cake I had made fell over on the long drive. It was a disaster!! Other bakeries near the wedding venue were already closed and others needed at least 48 hour notice… the wedding was happening NOW. I called Sonora Bakery in my final desperate attempt, explained the situation, sent them a picture of the cake and within minutes, they got to work. The cake was delicious and the wedding was saved. Thank you Sonora Bakery…. You have a customer for life!“

“I called in at 3:30 asking about what kind of cakes they had on hand ready for purchase. I guess he picked up on the fact that I was looking for something different, so he offered to make a custom one and I picked up the most delicious cake around an hour later! So moist and delicious! I love this bakery, their customer service is unmatched! I went with a vanilla cake with fresh strawberries, bananas and custard filling.“

“If this is not the best banh mi in all of Sgv and Oc, I don’t know of any place that can beat them. All cash by the way so come prepared. Their dac biet is the perfect sandwich and their daikon and carrots are light and bouncy with fresh jalapeno with the right amount of pate and butter. They have it down to perfection, nothing less. Had an open house and served it for homebuyers and they were blown away! Highly recommend! Cafe sua da is gold too, loved the shaved ice in the coffee and not too sweet. The ladies in the back are super sweet and you can buy the baguettes and freeze them, then 350 f for 6 mins in toaster or airfryer. Get the egg rolls, and pa te so is good too. My clients loved their vegetarian banh mi too!

Vegetarian options: Just get he vegetarian banh mi! Only vegetarian thing to get or just plain baguettes! It will be worth it!“

“Went in to get some bread baguette's & bolio for my mom I ended up trying there egg rolls & they had a pork belly spring roll it was so Delicious I had the banh mi pork belly sandwich to die for the bread was just made hot from the oven everything was fresh excellent.“

“This place is small inside so it's when there's a lot of people it's hard to get to the sweet bread. There is a pushy guy inside selling carnitas he almost shoves the meat down your throat too pushy. Bread is good and very good price their bags rip easily so take your own.“

I ♥️ Paris Bagutte! Always with delicious pastry and really good iced coffee. If I am on my cheat day, PB is my got to place.
It was my first time on this location and it was impressive. It’s located next to a luxury apartment bldg. Indoor seats were comfortable and its atmosphere was relaxing.

I ordered a Cold Brew, Strawberry croissant, Coffee Cronut and Croissant Donut. All items were great in taste and texture. I had a sugar high after eating those pastries haha! Anyways, staff (Isabela) was nice and professional and prices were reasonable and match the quality. Overall, this PB location was good and I recommend you visit.“

“We ordered the pecan pie for Thanksgiving. It was the best part of our meal!! I've gone through a lot of pecan pies in my life. Always disappointed that the crust doesn't have the right amount of salt to balance the sweetness or that sweet gooey stuff around the pecans is artificial tasting or the pecans don't taste right. This pie is perfect from start to finish. It's made with real butter which I can taste. The pecans seem to be just slightly roasted and there's lots of them. I'm so happy with this place. I'm ready to try their other products. We ordered online and everything worked out perfectly. There's a bit of a line out the door but you have to understand why. It's just really really good. Their website limits the characters and couldn’t get the full Happy Birthday and name on the cake, which was a bummer but the call was quick and easy. Just needed a few hours notice. Love that they add a few candles just in case and had a cake knife when requested. We didn’t use the candles, but is thoughtful. Only blip was the website and cake was a bit pricy for size, but delicious. I also tried a couple of empeñadas. Spicy chicken and beef. They were just ok. I guess I prefer the Argentinian ones more. Anyway, happy to have tried them.“

“My partner and I went to Blossom Market Hall to grab a coffee and couldn't help but be intrigued by the delicious smells coming from Ish's stand. We've been there a few times, but the first time we went, he had made a pumpkin scone that is absolutely one of the best pastries I've ever had. The texture was exactly how a scone is supposed to be: an initial crunch, but soft and pillowy on the inside, not hard and crumbly like many scones at other bakeries.

We have tried a total of 5-6 different items now, and every single one of them has been a delight to eat. None of his pastries are overly sweet, honoring the flavor of each, whether ube, pumpkin, or another. My only complaint is that he hasn't had the pumpkin scone the other times we've gone; it appears he changes up the menu day-to-day, which is great, but I've been really wanting that pumpkin scone again! If you are looking to indulge in a sweet treat but don't want to end up in a sugar coma, Ish's is the way to go, trust me.“
