“Anita’s cake is perfect in every way, even though I am not a big fan of sesame flavor cake but I have to say she has her magic way to make all ingredients blend in beautifully. This matcha sesame mousse cake is so soft and so smooth, u can taste the matcha and the sesame with the right amount of sweetness. This is the second cake I tried from her, her Earl gray cake is definitely heavenly and a must try. Her cakes are simply fantastic. Would want to try more.“

Today’s pilgrimage finds me in Sierra Madre at Syndicate, a fantastic find nestled comfortably downtown on Sierra Madre Blvd. Plenty of street parking and a beautiful place to take a stroll if you don’t score a spot immediately out front. The vibe is instantly welcoming, decor is colorfully minimalist, that’s probably not a thing, but it’s the best descriptor I have. The baristas are friendly, skilled and true devotees to all things coffee, even willing to share some potential sites to visit on the next LAtte stop. The coffee itself is excellent, rich, flavorful and no hint of bitterness. I went with oat milk this time and it paired perfectly with the blend, rich creamy, delicious! I can wholeheartedly recommend a visit should you find yourself in the area, or even if your not- expand your horizons and make it a destination, it’s worth it.“

“A great bakery, full of yummy baked items, prepared meals to go, breads to take home, sandwiches, salads and yummy desserts. I always stop here when I'm in the Sierra Madre area. They offer baked breads and prepared entries. Prices are a bit high, but worth every penny.“

“09/11/25: The Latina staff member was very friendly and welcoming (same person I met on my last visit!) — her service attitude is excellent. The food here is always very, very delicious, and the little bunny cake was amazing with fresh ingredients.

However, I did feel disappointed with another staff member (Asian) who came across as unfriendly and gave me attitude. Since I am also Asian, I honestly don’t know if I did something wrong, but it made me uncomfortable.

Overall, the quality of the food is outstanding, and I truly enjoy coming here. I just hope the management can strengthen training for individual employees so that the service experience matches the excellent food.“

“I attended a kids' birthday party and they had the most delicious cake ever. It was chocolate with a fresh strawberry center. The chocolate cake was so moist. The icing was light and delicate. This cake was talked about with everyone. We kept saying, "it's not too sweet," which is the best compliment you can say for a cake. I wasn't the one that purchased the cake but I definitely will now after this.“

Their dac biet is the perfect sandwich and their daikon and carrots are light and bouncy with fresh jalapeno with the right amount of pate and butter. They have it down to perfection, nothing less. Had an open house and served it for homebuyers and they were blown away! Highly recommend! Cafe sua da is gold too, loved the shaved ice in the coffee and not too sweet. The ladies in the back are super sweet and you can buy the baguettes and freeze them, then 350 f for 6 mins in toaster or airfryer. Get the egg rolls, and pa te so is good too. My clients loved their vegetarian banh mi too!

I called Sonora Bakery in my final desperate attempt, explained the situation, sent them a picture of the cake and within minutes, they got to work. The cake was delicious and the wedding was saved. It was my first time on this location and it was impressive. It’s located next to a luxury apartment bldg. Indoor seats were comfortable and its atmosphere was relaxing.

I ordered a Cold Brew, Strawberry croissant, Coffee Cronut and Croissant Donut. All items were great in taste and texture. I had a sugar high after eating those pastries haha! Anyways, staff (Isabela) was nice and professional and prices were reasonable and match the quality. Overall, this PB location was good and I recommend you visit.“

“I visited Baking with Ish on the day I was getting ready to fly out of LAX. I had been getting instagram recommendations on my feed for a few months (even though I don’t live in CA), and I’m glad I decided to put this place on my list to check out before I left. I got the ube sesame bun and the cheese and ube pie and both of them were fantastic. I wish I lived closer so I could come back and try more items, to be honest everything on display looked unreal. “I really despise when the restaurant is fairly empty and the host sits everyone in the same section. I’ve never worked in this industry so I'm not sure of the reasoning behind the practice. It always bothers me but today in particular because the groups of people who the host chose to seat by me were wearing the loudest perfumes/colognes that really assaulted my senses. “Cozy boba shop that’s off the beaten path. Shares a Hong Kong milk tea with my sister here after lunch and ordered it to go. There’s a small amount of seating inside.
