“This is a small and cute bakery in the area. I came by during Valentine’s Day. One of the ladies was decorating the window with Valentine’s Day theme. We ordered the coffee cake and almond croissant. The croissant was very fluffy and crispy. It is one of the best croissant I had in the US, it reminded me of the bakery and croissants I had in Paris. Servers are very helpful and friendly as I asked them for recommendations of the pastries. Will come back again for more croissants!
Street parking is available.“
“Anita’s cake is perfect in every way, even though I am not a big fan of sesame flavor cake but I have to say she has her magic way to make all ingredients blend in beautifully. This matcha sesame mousse cake is so soft and so smooth, u can taste the matcha and the sesame with the right amount of sweetness. This is the second cake I tried from her, her Earl gray cake is definitely heavenly and a must try. Her cakes are simply fantastic. Would want to try more.“

“I went in on Tuesday, the new owners were in back of me. I was telling the cashier how disappointed my daughter was, we came in on monday and it was closed. Well the new owners, gave me a couple cookies for free. That was so awesome of them. My daughter was so happy and she said" Thank you so much!"“

“Just amazing...this stuff is so beautiful I almost didn't want to eat it! But I did, haha, and it was great! I love that there is so much variety, from cookies to cakes, and the owner is such a sweet person! I'll definitely keep them in mind for my birthday when it rolls around in August. Keep up the good work!“

“I love Porto’s, this was my first time a this location and I had the most amazing experience today. The amount of parking this location has, so much seating space indoor and outdoor, and let’s not talk about the amazing customer service. I order the chicken milanesa and the dulce de leche latte both so delicious you can never go wrong with neither. I am so amazed on how often the workers will stop by my table to ask how was the food, if we needed anything else, helped clean our table and brought us to go boxes. Staff here is so friendly and nice. While having lunch manager james passed by our table, he was super friendly, and nice and we told him how amazing the staff was. He even recommended the steak torta and the Plato de pollo. I will most definitely be stopping by this location more often. I highly recommend this Porto’s.“

“Patty's was very communicative and responded quickly to our emails about our wedding cake. They made a cake exactly to our specifications and it tasted divine! We got the banana cake with guava filling and cream cheese frosting, and we got so many compliments on the taste. I applaud Patty's and can't wait to eat more of the leftovers :)“

“Found this store on Eater LA and came on a Saturday. It was cheerful to get the limited special cake — chestnut tiramisu! The chestnut cream is so yummy! A bit pricey ($29 total for four desserts) but truly worth it. The genmaicha tofu cake is my favorite. It has a rich soy flavor and the texture is so soft! I also like the blueberry and lavender cake with jelly on top. Excellent combination! Staff were very careful about packaging so even I drove for roughly an hour with the cakes, they remained intact all the time!“

“If this is not the best banh mi in all of Sgv and Oc, I don’t know of any place that can beat them. All cash by the way so come prepared. Their dac biet is the perfect sandwich and their daikon and carrots are light and bouncy with fresh jalapeno with the right amount of pate and butter. They have it down to perfection, nothing less. Had an open house and served it for homebuyers and they were blown away! Highly recommend! Cafe sua da is gold too, loved the shaved ice in the coffee and not too sweet. The ladies in the back are super sweet and you can buy the baguettes and freeze them, then 350 f for 6 mins in toaster or airfryer. Get the egg rolls, and pa te so is good too. My clients loved their vegetarian banh mi too!
Vegetarian options: Just get he vegetarian banh mi! Only vegetarian thing to get or just plain baguettes! It will be worth it!“

“A deliciously sweet addition to grace the blossom hall food hall! Ish's signature pies, breads, expresso buns, cookies, cakes, are always in small batches, and has something new and in season everytime I stop by! You can taste the love and passion of these modern Filipino inspired desserts that anyone can enjoy. I will say the pies are a must!
I've liked everything so far, and though the price may be a bit steep for some, know that you are supporting a small bakery with big taste! A friend introduced me to his decadent desserts, and I've been hooked since!
I strongly suggest following the Ish Instagram page (bakingwithish) to see the latest updates and any new flavors he's concocted. They close relatively early, or until they sell out, so come early, grab a sweet bite, and be delighted!!“

“So I absolutely love barbecue pork buns and I'm pretty indifferent about pineapple buns but I just had my first pineapple barbecue pork bun today and I have a new favorite thing. The egg tarts here are amazing. I can't come here that often because they close by 5:00 p.m. :-( all the good places close so early.“

“I attended a kids' birthday party and they had the most delicious cake ever. It was chocolate with a fresh strawberry center. The chocolate cake was so moist. The icing was light and delicate. This cake was talked about with everyone. We kept saying, "it's not too sweet," which is the best compliment you can say for a cake. I wasn't the one that purchased the cake but I definitely will now after this.“

“Best donut shop in the area, hands down.
Donuts are super light and airy, they do not live you feeling super full and they are also not super sweet. Prices are also very reasonable.
We tried the breakfast sandwiches as well which and they were super delicious and filling. If you are hungry hungry I would recommend you get one.
The thai teas are nice too, I really liked the orange one.
Staff is also super friendly and will tell you about all their menu items as well as make recommendations.
Highly recommend you go check out BC Donuts if you are in the area!“

“We needed a birthday cake on short notice, and thankfully, Patisserie Too had a 5” mango cake available. They also had a wide variety of personal size cakes in adorable animal themes (rabbit, dog, pig, penguin, and Hello Kitty). Our party really enjoyed the mango cake - it was the perfect sweetness level and full of flavor. Sweet enough to taste like a dessert but not overwhelmingly sugary. I was pleasantly surprised to find a slice of mango inside the cake. The mango texture was a fun contrast to its soft cake-y surroundings. The entire cake sat on top of a cookie base (shortbread cookie?), and the crunchiness of the cookie also enhanced the range of textures in this dessert!
The cakes were also well packaged. They taped down the personal size cakes we bought so that they wouldn’t slide around inside the box. This attention to detail and their friendly and helpful service overall made this a really pleasant shopping experience!“

“I stopped at this place every afternoon and evening time during my stay. The fruit teas are incredibly good. The Hong Kong Style was my favorite.
Also her homemade tarts were phenomenal. Got lucky and had a few different ones and each ones was wicked good. Highly recommend to anyone in the area for an afternoon drink or little sweet treat.“

“This place came to the rescue!!! The wedding cake I had made fell over on the long drive. It was a disaster!! Other bakeries near the wedding venue were already closed and others needed at least 48 hour notice… the wedding was happening NOW. I called Sonora Bakery in my final desperate attempt, explained the situation, sent them a picture of the cake and within minutes, they got to work. The cake was delicious and the wedding was saved. Thank you Sonora Bakery…. You have a customer for life!“

“Today I had a very bad experience, I went in the afternoon to buy bread and then the saleswoman received a call on her cell phone and she was going and she was coming and she didn't answer me and she didn't tell me to wait for her either, I thought I was going to get some attention with me for the wait and nothing, then when I saw that he was not going to attend to me I told him that I no longer wanted the bread (I still thought that by telling him that he was going to tell me that he was going to attend to me) and nothing told me that it was okay , and continued talking on the phone. I'm very sorry for this. Every time I have gone to buy bread here they have treated me well except today.“

“This is the “Omg, this is good! Where did you get your cake from?” kind of place. Their cakes are sooo delicious. I love how their cakes are not overpowered with sugar like most cakes. It’s a fluffy flavorful bite of goodness.
They were kind enough to accommodated my last minute request. They did a great job on my sons cake. Don’t waste your time googling anymore bakeries, this is it. Ps- make sure to taste their butterfly twist crisp at check out, so good.“

“The most creative tasty, beautifully served pastries. Christine is the owner, a very talented graphic/product designer, who creates tasty Gourmet Sandwiches, best Expresso coffee, with fabulous Quiches, her Brioche is very moist and tasty!!! Her bakery reminds me of a fine Viennese Café. I lived in Salzburg and Vienna for 7 years, so I know of what I speak. E Felsööry“

“Uncle Tetsu is famous for extremely soft cakes. They are nice and moist, unlike other cakes that will leave you coughing as you choke on them. The original cake is a tasty treat. They also have quality tea drinks :) I Ordered the dirty latte (matcha).

“The cupcakes were really good, but it’s a little expensive and also nobody was in the front for a few minutes when I got in. Somehow, the cake was much worse. The cupcakes are the best I’ve ever had tho, so I’d recommend those and try a slice of cake to see if you like it before buying a whole cake.“

“Happened by this spot as we were leaving the area. We will definitely be back! Friendly service and plenty of great little treats! This review is only for the bakery goods. We did not have time to sample any of the sandwiches or entree items but we went to come back to try them! We got mini smores, mini fruit tart, mini salted caramel, cookies, and a lemon tart! All the items were delicious!“

“Hello! The Trekking Pawns here! This area has so many hidden gems! From the outside the places does not look appealing, but when you walk in, the place is spacious and clean. So many choices for baked goods at reasonable prices. They had a special of buyer 8 and get 1 free. The pineapple with dried pork pastry was lovely! Highly recommend trying it. The taro pastry was okay, but not as flavorful as anticipated.“

“The cashier was very friendly and helpful. They still do the traditional mango cakes here. Many other Asian bakeries in the area no longer do their Mango cakes with actual fruit layered all over the top/outside--they just use mostly mango cream or mousse. This place also has breads, pastries, and a small frozen area with veggie baos and more.“

“Lots of seating, great atmosphere, everyone was nice and the water station they have set up is much appreciated. The portions are just right, so you won't leave hungry. Love the coffee options. Very family friendly. We had a party of 10 and they did a fabulous job putting out the food, great staff. Unfortunately, the parking situation is bad. We drove around for about 25 minutes to find a place to park. Absolutely worth it though!
Kid-friendliness: Very family friendly.“

“This place used to be a lot better when they first opened. They still have the same owner, so I am not sure what the reason for lower quality is. My dad is a huge bread fanatic and he swears by Saigon's. They also sell other Vietnamese food like spring and egg rolls.I've tried every sandwich on the menu. They also have croissants. Saigon's gio lua (Vietnamese sausage) is the best. We usually buy some bread, get a gio lua and just eat it with pate and mayo at home. (I recommend adding extra eggs and cucumber/carrot mix if extra hungry).“

“This restaurant is MOSTLY VEGAN. A few items do have egg or dairy milk, but they are easily swapped for plant based options. This place uses fresh ingredients and makes creative dishes. I wish my tummy was big enough to eat one of everything! I got the chilaquiles and a "dirty"chai latte (dirty means it has an extra espresso shot). I don't live near by, so I'm not going to be able to visit often. Updated from previous review on 2025-02-26“

“I ordered the mix and match of 6 and I got 2 originals, 1 crème brûlée, 1 chocolate, 1 honey and butter, and 1 churro cream puff. They all had a subtle flavor but the ones that stood out to me were the churro and the crème brûlée. I must say if you put the same filling in all of the puffs they will taste the same since like I said they all have a subtle flavor. Nonetheless it’s a nice pastry for the hot weather since the custard is cold ( I thought it was going to be warm which I would have preferred). I also had the milk tea w no sugar and mango smoothie. I liked the smoothie better. Anyway, the workers are really nice, good service :) The atmosphere as in like vibes is lacking and it’s because of the decor. Maybe better lighting and tables/seats that aren’t bulky/awkward would improve the atmosphere.“

“Hiatus= opportunity for another stop in the LAtte tour. Today’s pilgrimage finds me in Sierra Madre at Syndicate, a fantastic find nestled comfortably downtown on Sierra Madre Blvd. Plenty of street parking and a beautiful place to take a stroll if you don’t score a spot immediately out front. The vibe is instantly welcoming, decor is colorfully minimalist, that’s probably not a thing, but it’s the best descriptor I have. The baristas are friendly, skilled and true devotees to all things coffee, even willing to share some potential sites to visit on the next LAtte stop. The coffee itself is excellent, rich, flavorful and no hint of bitterness. I went with oat milk this time and it paired perfectly with the blend, rich creamy, delicious! I can wholeheartedly recommend a visit should you find yourself in the area, or even if your not- expand your horizons and make it a destination, it’s worth it.“
