“This is my favorite restaurant in Sierra Madre! Hands down! Love the new items on their menu! Last night we had the crispy brussel sprouts, garlic spicy edamame, avocado roll with sesame seeds, garlic noodles, steak fried rice and pineapple burger! Everything was absolutely delicious! And cant forget about the pineapple pomegranate spicy margarita as well! Love love this place! And the staff is amazing as well“
“OMG this Japanese restaurant and dessert place is super cute and delicious. Follow me!Highlights of the menu:1. Original pancake - super jiggling2. Durian hot premium pancake - Oh em Gee love!!3. Strawberry matcha dalgona4. Hot coffee with marshmallow and cookie5. Chicken karaage6. Tonkatsu curry“
“My friend recommended this market to me. It is easy to miss because the entrance is in the back. The kids like ordering the fresh seafood and although the store is small, they have a good selection of rolls along with other Japanese items. My two favorite things to get are the avocado roll which has been consistently creamy and delicious and the chicken karaage that has a fantastic dipping sauce. If you like mochi ice cream, they have a brand named “Mochidoki” that has flavors like Chocolate Habanero and birthday cake. There are also some cute items such as stationary and pet toys. There is some parking in the back that is shared with Thai Paradise and also parking on the street“
“We tried the diamond set. The meat quality of the 1st round was really good. But the quality of a5 wagyu was not as good after the 1st round. Sweet shrimp was not that fresh, and the steam egg portion was too big. The wagyu sandwich was not good at all and way too dried. Overall, it was a great experience.“
“Sushi Kisen continues to punch well above its weight and it is 1/3 the price for the same quality as some of the now outrageously expensive sushi places in LA.For about $120, our omakase today included about 10 courses and 2 additional pieces we selected at the end. The quality of the nigiri is self-evident, particularly with the chutoro and the Nemuro uni. Another particular favorite was shiro-ebi. The chef confirmed that it is from Toyama. It should be mentioned that some pieces are ever so slightly on the saltier side (I confirmed that they do season with a drop of salt on some pieces), which I ended up liking but it might be a surprise to some. Extra points for the shari, which was flavorful on its own without taking away from the fish. I also highly recommend asking the chef if they have any seasonal items. We were very pleasantly surprised by our tsuika orders. When I do not have the time to enjoy an omakase at the bar, I would recommend their chirashi bowls.“
“MAAAANNNN I decided to stop in on a whim and was blown away.. some of the best crunchiest and seasoned chicken I've ever had.... I'm a Black guy born and raised in Chicago I know my fried chicken lol !!!I wish I could pack this place up and take them back to Vegas with me!!“
“Everything is BEYOND EXPECTATION. Found this nearby restaurant after running errands. End up being the best meal I’ve ever had in a while. Sashimis are FRESH and thick. Baked rolls are amazing, probably the best roll I’ve had in my life (I’ve been to Japan twice so I know what good stuff taste like) Highly recommend this place. It’s a must go in Pasadena.“
“We came for dinner and we got a fresh shirako with ponzu, a bento box and Premium Sushi Sets. Felt like the nigiris for the sushi set was just ok, the rice was a bit too hard and not flavorful. One of the nigiri piece I had also had a little fish bone in it…Loved the Uni and the fresh Shirako here. The uni we had was from Canada.I had a bit higher expectations for this spot since I been hearing lot of good things, but it didn’t meet my expectations.“
“Had a great dinner at Kogane again. The food and service were great. The sushi chefs were friendly and gave very interesting tidbits about the fish, process and taste. The meal lasts about 1 hr and 45 min. Since everyone eats at the same rate for each dish through the course, don't forget to be on time. :)“
“Wow! What a wonderful experience! We had an early dinner on a Thursday evening to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. It was busy, but we were sat almost right away. The ambiance of the restaurant is the first thing that hit me. It was very dark, but in comforting way. It is a very small place. The server walked us through their choices and we were immediately served. We chose their silver level. The bone marrow and toast was crazy delicious. It was full of umami flavor. It was the perfect way to start off. We ordered the spicy miso and the house broth. Both were great. The spicy miso wasn't too spicy at the beginning, but rather rich and flavorful. It did build on the spice level when it became a bit more concentrated. The house was mild and light. These soups were refilled at appropriate times as well. The meats that were served with this were melt in your mouth amazing and only took a second to cook. The veggie platter that accompanied it was a nice assortment. They also had a serve your self rice/ condiment bar. It was very clean and had a great assortment of sauces. My favorite was mixing the sesame with a bit of soy sauce and spicy chilies. It also included eggs, rice and minced beef. We had three rounds of the amazing meat and finished up the veggies. We finished our meal with the green tea ice cream at the self serve station. It is a bit pricy, but worth every penny in my opinion. I can't wait to come back.Parking: Parking in the lot right in front of the restaurant was available for an early dinner on a Thursday. They also have parking around the back of the building as well.“
“The workers are all so kind! Especially the woman with the bob. She was very beautiful on the inside and out. You can tell she wanted you to just have a good time eating there. My friends and I came and she was so sweet to all of us. Thank you for being sweet to us and letting us have a good time. :)“
“Awesome place to get some great tasting ramen! The restaurant was nicely decorated, the staff extremely friendly and of course, the food tasted great. We had the veggie king ramen with an egg add on and spice level 3. Very good. I would definitely add a higher spice next time I go. They have a cool custom menu that you fill out while waiting in line to stream line the process. Big fan of the organization! Highly recommend.“
“If I could eat here everyday I would. These are my favorite types of sushi restaurants to go to. Simple but far from ordinary. No frills, no heavily sauced California rolls, or flashy items just great quality sushi made as traditional as possible. Everything (that I tried) was fresh.I’m so glad that I found this little gem on this side of town. I’m coming back ASAP to try the rest of the restaurant. If you’re looking for a place to try real sushi, I would definitely put this on your list.My favorites from my visit were the Live Sweet Shrimp (fried head), Uni, Toro, Salmon Belly, Yellowtail, Scallop handroll, and the salmon collar. Like I said, I’m coming back to eat the rest.“
“Probably the best place I've tried sushi. Large portions and excellent prices. As a fairly big guy, I was pleasantly surprised that I couldn't finish two regular plates. The service is top-notch. My best wishes to this establishment“
“Akasaka is amazing bang for buck if you like hamachi kama (yellowtail collar), it’s perfectly broiled - crispy on the outside and tender and fatty on the inside. Their chirashi bowl is huge with 6 cuts per fish and can serve 2. The fish is good quality and fresh and the tempura bits in the rice adds another layer of texture. I always come here when I’m craving lots of hamachi for a good price“
“My favorite sushi place. The quality of their fish is great. The chirashi bowls are very generous and have a lot of flavor. The service is always very attentive and polite.Parking: There is a shared parking garage behind but it’s often full. You can find street parking on the side streets nearby.“
“Honestly, was amazed at how good the sushi / sashimi was at this place. Didn't expect it from a food hall. WAY better quality tasting food than a more legit mid-level sushi places. Highly recommend coming here just for this. We got another roll to go because it was so good.“
“Katsu Jin has the best katsu outside of Japan. The tenderloin katsu is made with a think cut of pork and fried to perfection. I try to get here once a month even though it is 45 minutes from my house. The gyoza are also fantastic! Can't recommend this place enough.“
“We came here on a weekday evening at around 6pm and had no wait. They have only one option for dining at this Chubby Cattle location, which is an AYCE menu including Wagyu, pork, seafood, appetizers like Wagyu tartare and salmon carpaccio, rice, sushi and soup. For $65.99 (non-member price) per person, you definitely get what you pay for here!“
“Excellent food! A wonderful family run restaurant. My whole family goes crazy for their crab Rangoon and shrimp and veggie tempura. The golden shrimp dumpling curry is also amazing. They just expanded the menu, very excited to try more dishes. Have never been disappointed, and very friendly staff and owners!Vegetarian options: Lots of dishes can be made with tofu“
“One of the jewels of dining in ELA. The food, service, and cleanliness of the restaurant are incomparable. I love the bento boxes, and they are a great value. The customer service is excellent and par noneVegetarian options: There are good optionsParking: The plenty of itKid-friendliness: Family oriented place, but mainly the food is catered to an adult tasteWheelchair accessibility: Yes plenty of room for a wheelchair, and I frequently see persons with them“
“After success with the jajiang noodles, I had to try the stall right next door. Inside the fantastic Hmart market, is Kazu Mori. I’d say Katsu is there specialty with pork and chicken. I had the pork tonkatsu with curry. Huge portions and so good. I actually thought I was a bit pricey bit after I saw the quality and portions, I reconsider. Also, not a Bricks and mortar saves a bit.I think the key is to get a bunch of people and order two or three items from each stall. The choice are fantastic.“
“The Bento Box for Lunch was huge! Be prepared with an appetite! Sushi roll was good but not amazing...got the spicy tuna roll with the box and it's was bland. But the rest of food was great! Service was really good and attentive but not in your face or anything. I would definitely go back!“
“The chef is the same from Wahoo Chaya. So long story short- the sushi is phenomenal as it was prior. I bring my wife and son here all the time and also invite other family members. I order the a la cart cut rolls such as the the albacore roll and the yellow tell. Sometimes I will order it either of them spicy. My wife loves the rainbow roll, baked mussels, and fresh oysters. My son who is two mind you like the temura udon and the rainbow roll. Yes he loves sushi. Usually our bill is around 100 including tip. If we invite others it is more. You will not be disappointed coming here. A true gem.“
“A huge surprise for me. The food exceeded my expectations for such a humble place. I was expecting a regular American style sushi set but instead got an omakase style dinner. The husband and wife team are friendly as well. I’ll be back for sure.“
“First time here it was really good I will definitely be back!I had the Benito Box Teriyaki BeefIt took a little bit to get my order, but they were busy at lunch ? The Benito Box was enough for my lunch and dinnerParking: Lots of parking in lot“
“Happy to see a new business open up in this strip mall. Don't let the sketchy pharmacy next door scare you off. Food is fantastically fresh. Grab a ticket, check off what you want and place your ticket in the rack next to the register. Recommend half/half of soba and salad. We've tried pretty much all the ingredients/toppings in our three visits so far and all have been extremely fresh, including all the proteins. Garlic wasabi or spicy mayo sauce are great. Tempura flakes add texture to your bowl. Handrolls are their secret weapon. Affordable and generous, we really like the soft shelled crab handroll but they are all good. So what's not to like? The boba is mediocre, passable for convenience but you're not coming here for boba. The interior has been overhauled from when it was a pizza place. It's now modern and clean with a little bit of seating, we get our orders to go. Plenty of parking as it's in the same lot as Fresco's market. If you are coming here swing by the donut place where both the owner and her donuts are local legends now.“
“I like this location more than Little Tokyo due to distance and ease of parking. They both aren't that much different to each other, but there's a few differences. Parking: no seriously, you don't have to struggle to find parking here. They share a huge lot behind the plaza so parking is a breeze. No struggling to find a space when you're in DTLA Indoor seating isn't as big at the OG spot, but it doesn't feel as outdated and rundown. Food is pretty good here. The 3 hand roll set is enough to fill me up, but I was hungry and opted for 5. The unagi and the snow crab are pretty good. The reg hand rolls like the salmon and spicy tuna deserve an honorable mention. Portion sizes are fair and you get an equal rice:protein ratio. Service is good. Would return again“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Haruka Sake and Sushi and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was captivated by the inviting ambiance and the tantalizing aroma of freshly prepared sushi. The food at Haruka Sake and Sushi was beyond compare. Every dish that graced my table was a work of art, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The sushi was made with the utmost care, and the quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite. The fish was incredibly fresh, melting in my mouth with each sushi roll I sampled. The variety of options available ensured that there was something to suit every palate, from traditional favorites to inventive and creative sushi creations. But it wasn't just the food that left a lasting impression. The service at Haruka Sake and Sushi was impeccable. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were more than happy to offer recommendations and answer any questions I had. Despite the restaurant being busy, the waitstaff managed to provide a seamless experience, ensuring that every customer felt valued and well taken care of.The ambiance of Haruka Sake and Sushi was enchanting. The decor was tasteful and soothing, creating a tranquil atmosphere perfect for enjoying a meal. The lighting was just right, creating an intimate setting that enhanced the dining experience. Whether you're looking for a place to have a quiet dinner or celebrate a special occasion, Haruka offers an ideal setting.Overall, Haruka Sake and Sushi exceeded my expectations in every way. The combination of outstanding food, exceptional service, and a delightful atmosphere make it a top-tier sushi restaurant. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking an unforgettable culinary adventure. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or new to the world of Japanese cuisine, Haruka Sake and Sushi will leave you craving more.First time experience pass the test. Thanks ?“
“On a Sunday afternoon in March, my sister wanted to try the Japanese pancakes so came here for lunch. We parked in front on the street. Inside interior looks nice with tables and cute stuff at the counter. The staff seem nice and we got seated right away. The menu was easy to read so I ordered gyudon beef with rice and my sister ordered the original soufflé pancakes. My dish came first and everything was really good. Then the 3 pieces of pancakes arrived and it was fluffy and light after I took a bite. Next time I will try other items. I hope they get more business.“
“This sushi restaurant is a good place to come eat lunch or dinner. The spicy tuna roll combo with chicken katsu was delicious. The soup as well. The lemonade was good. But the glass water by itself was not so great to be honest.3 lemonade $7.50.Dinner combo was $16.95The food was was very good. I appreciate the service here.“
“A very solid sushi spot in Monterey Park with a great selection of sushi and rolls.I ordered their salmon burrito, green onion sesame chicken, soft shell crab & the Kaiba roll. The salmon burrito was way bigger than I thought and can probably feed two people. The salmon tasted fresh and it was overall solid entree. The sesame chicken was crispy and delicious. I tried it with the tempura sauce and it took it to the next level. The soft shell crab was also delicious and flavorful. Their signature roll was good but nothing out of the ordinary. Overall the lunch was very good and satisfying.Customer service was excellent and I’d definitely come back to this spot again to try their other menu items. Parking can be tough during peak times.“
“Sakura Grill is a fantastic spot that deserves a solid 4 stars! What really stood out to me was the generous portions they offer. I mean, we're talking large portions here - especially their mouthwatering fried rice and perfectly grilled proteins paired with a variety of veggies. The unassuming location with street parking might throw you off, but don't let that deter you. This place is a hidden gem in El Monte. Plus, they're in the process of revamping their menu, so there are even more exciting things to look forward to. If you're craving a delicious meal that won't leave you hungry, Sakura Grill is the place to be.“
“I came here with my family on a Sunday evening. It's a sit down restaurant but not overly formal. The food here is delicious. I had the chicken karaage bowl that had great flavor and texture. The udon noodles and soup base were delicious as well. Can't wait to try other items on the menu.“
“I was extremely sad that the sushi place in the montebello mall closed down. I came here and saw a lot of the same workers! The sushi was 11/10, ambience was 11/10 and Service was 11/10! I will totally be back and this just became my new all time favorite sushi spot compared to kaiba! Watch out Monterey park, this one is going to be in the newspapers“
“We got the veggie ramen but changed out the broth for pork bone broth for a small fee and added an egg. It was great! ?Vegetarian options: Veggie ramen, tempura pumpkin, edamame, spring rollsParking: Located in a strip mall with lots of parking“
“I walked in on a Sunday afternoon and placed a large order. One of the items ordered was the chicken teriyaki bento box. Everything item on the plate was freshly made and delicious. There were 4 pieces of tempura veggies and 4 pieces of California roll. The chicken teriyaki bowls were just as fresh and contained an ample amount of chicken and rice. The owner was kind and gracious and friendly. An additional plus for that. This is a great place to go for sushi. The California rooll and the spicy tuna roll we ordered we delicious. I look forward to my next visit so that I can try the ramen. Hope you all give this place a try. You will not be disappointed.“
“Passed by this several times. I decided to go in last night and I had a great time. I ordered the mixed tempura, shumai and the ribeye with spicy broth. I loved everything. The service was on point, as soon as we were about to enter, the waiter was getting our settings ready. The waitress made sure we had everything we needed.“
“Excellent authentic Japanese izakaya restaurant. The biggest saba (grilled mackerel) I've ever seen! Huuuuge. I had the katsu - excellent. My daughter had the BBQ beef skirt teriyaki and I tried a piece and it was delicious. Service was awesome too. The couple who I believe own/run the place were super nice and gracious. A big TV with NBA basketball on - what more could you ask for?“
“No frills teriyaki spot. The entrance was confusing. It looks like a glass storefront but it's an automatic sliding door that isn't very sensitive or quick. So you need to stand there and then it will open after a short delay. Service was quick, food was decent. Price is fair for Pasadena.“
“The food is excellent! The staff is always pleasant and attentative and they give you a complementary bowl of edames to start. Tokoro is reasonably priced, you get alot for your buck. My sister and I order the Deluxe Udon Combination for $23.95 and share it. I usually order the miso soup and a salad on the side. The combination is alot for one person, atleast for me it is. I highly recommend Tokoro for Japanese food. I stopped going to some Japanese restaurants I used to frequent because the price, ambiance and quality is much better at Tokoro!Parking: Free parking is in back.“
“Their food is more for connessieurs. For example, their salmon is from Norway. You can taste the ice cold water. It's just different. Of course, these things comes with a higher price tag but not outrageously higher. Service is attentive as it should. Not your normal sushi place if you crave the finer things in life.“
“I was brought to this restaurant by a close family member and it's one of the best ramen places I've been to. I loved their ramen bowl serving and the Naruto ambiance. I can definitely see myself going back to this place again. I ordered the Naruto Chasu “
“Prepare your taste buds for a wild ride because Nabemono Shabu Shabu is where the party's at! I recently visited this hot pot haven, and let me tell you, it was like stepping into a foodie's dream. Service That's So Good, You'll Wonder If You Entered a Spa:From the moment I walked in, the staff at Nabemono treated me like royalty. The service was so good; I half expected a red carpet to roll out as I made my way to the table. The waitstaff was attentive, friendly, and had a great sense of humor. They even taught me how to shabu shabu like a pro without making me feel like a fish out of water. Veggie Delight - Mostly Washed, All Fresh:Now, let's talk veggies. I'm no botanist, but I know a crisp and fresh vegetable when I see one. Nabemono did not disappoint! The veggies were not only mostly washed but also as fresh as a morning breeze. It's like they plucked those veggies straight from the Garden of Eden and plopped them onto my plate. My carnivore instincts were momentarily put on hold as I devoured the colorful array of veggies. Who knew I could enjoy vegetables this much? Meat So Good, It's Almost a Crime:Let's not forget the star of the show - the meat. I swear, the meat at Nabemono was so good-looking; I almost asked it for its skincare routine. Each slice was like a work of art, marbled to perfection. The cook-it-yourself shabu shabu experience made me feel like a culinary genius, and the result was a mouthwatering masterpiece. I've never had a beefy experience like this before! Cleanliness that Deserves an Oscar:In the world of hot pot, cleanliness is next to deliciousness, and Nabemono nailed it. The place was as spotless as my grandma's Sunday best china. I could eat off the floor, not that I tried, but you get the point. The clean and cozy atmosphere added an extra layer of comfort to the entire dining experience. In conclusion, Nabemono Shabu Shabu is the real deal. With service so good, veggies so fresh, meat so fine, and a cleanliness standard that would put a surgical room to shame, this place is a culinary oasis. So, grab your chopsticks and head over to Nabemono for a shabu-tastic time! Your taste buds will thank you, and your funny bone will be tickled.“
“Glad to finally try this place and I am very pleased with our experience. Quite unexpected due to location but the food and service were amazing. We enjoyed the fresh sashimi and all the Izakaya we ordered in the picture. I will come back to this place for sure.“
“Tucked in Downtown Monrovia, this small restaurant has really fresh sushi! We visited on a recent Saturday for lunch. Inside has maybe 3-4 seats at the sushi bar, 3 small tables, and a couple tables outdoors were its pet friendly. I got the salmon don and it was fresh and delicious. It comes with miso soup and the best tasting salad dressing I've ever had. We also shared the lime roll, scallops sushi, ono sushi, albacore sushi and miso cod. The roll was only okay, and I definitely preferred the sushi. The miso cod was tender and soft, I felt very healthy eating all the delicious fish. Our waiter was super friendly and nice, it made for a great lunch experience!“
“I have been dining here for many many years and I have never been disappointed.Yohan and staff are always prompt in taking your order and they are warm and friendly. The wait after the order is taken is very minimal and the food is always fresh and delicious.“
“For the price, the sushi, sashimi, hand rolls and specialty rolls are very good. I wasn't impressed with the Chinese dishes. Many are mainland Chinese style where bones and bone fragments are normal in these dishes, making these hard to eat for someone not used to bite carefully and then spitting out bones in front of guests, etc. It may be acceptable in China and in front of Chinese guests.Parking: May have to park further away during busy meal times. I think it's owned by the same people running the Red 99 Grill bistro on the same block that also draws many customers. Shiki buffet also draws customers and parking close to the restaurant may be difficult during meal times.“
“Went back this week and glad I did. Ordered a bento box, lots of tasty food and definitely worth the money. There was enough teriyaki for two meals. I'm accustomed to a different cut of meat for beef teriyaki so was surprised but enjoyed the flavor. LOVED the super crunchy not greasy tempura! I ordered to go so didn't each for about 15 mins. Tempura was crunchy to the last bite of the last piece! Also had the spicy salmon sushi, which I found quite good. I'll definitely go back and try other menu items. Staff was welcoming and kind. The sushi chef greeted each person as they arrived and thanked each when they left. Great service!“
“Can't believe it's taken me this long to discover this sushi spot. Sushi and dishes are on point! It's fresh and creative!Service is prompt and polite. The decor is clean, traditional Japanese. There's a small outdoor area. Would definitely be going back. Next time, I want to try their omakase.“
