Robledo Family Winery Wineries • $$
21901 Bonness Rd, Sonoma

“Another winery recommended we visit this winery in Sonoma because of it's story, culture, and quality. Six of us did and it did not dissappoint. Jimmy did a wonderful job of sharing the family history, as well as the history of the winery. He also recommended great wines for us to sample and consider for purchase. I'm glad we availed ourselves to learning about how our Mexican brothers worked the fields, learned the business and became and expert, purchased land, started his on winery, and served two U.S. Presidents (Obama and Bush) and the California Gov (Swarzenegger). Oh, the wine is GREAT!“

Kivelstadt Cellars & WineGarden American • $$
22900 Broadway, Sonoma

“Kiv is a total find. The front looks a little rough when you pull up…then you step through and it opens into this unexpected backyard oasis. Big shade umbrellas, fire pits, quiet corners — the kind of spot you settle into for hours.

The wines are fantastic and very reasonably priced. Father’s Watch (pictured) might be one of the best blends anywhere — balanced, silky, and way better than its price point suggests. They’re also working with some rare and hard-to-find varietals, which makes each flight feel different than the usual Sonoma lineup.

The chicken and ricotta bites? Absolute knockout. One of those dishes you order “just to try” and immediately wish you’d doubled.

Service is relaxed but sharp, the atmosphere is great, and there’s a wonderful restaurant next door. Location is solid, but you could easily drive past the humble storefront — don’t.

A+ winery. Total gem.“

“We visited Anaba in October and the tasting room was filled with pumpkins, gourds and beautiful fall colors. I did the tasting of their Pinot Noirs and what a delightful experience. It was such a lovely and relaxing experience. I had time to taste and contrast the 5 Pinots in my flight. I ordered 6 bottles and I am sure I will order more. Thanks Anaba for such a fun time.“

Bedrock Wine Co. - By Appointment Wineries • $$
414 1st St E, Sonoma

“We have been ordering wine from Bedrock many years. This was our first time to visit. The tasting room is just off the main square in Sonoma. It is located in the historic Joseph Hooker House. We were a few minutes late for our appointment but we were seated immediately. Our tasting started with Under The Wire sparkling wine followed by some the Cuvée Karatas which we liked. The plot twisted in the next two pours. In each of the final two rounds we were offered 3 wines to evaluate side by side. This was super fun. We also ordered the charcuterie board and it was delicious too. We had a wine order already pending so we just added more bottles to this order. We opted to take a bottle of 2009 Griffen's Lair syrah with us to drink at the hotel.“

Peter Cellars Winery •
21708 Broadway, Sonoma

“If you like wine from Sonoma then I highly recommend Peter Cellars for a stop (yes, that's a play on the name for those that know!). Peter has won gold and double gold prizes for his wines (rightly so) and is happy to pour a decent sized glass and tell you about his winery.

There is no hard sell and we bought some to take home to the UK. The wine is truly excellent, it speaks for itself, and pricing reflects this in a good way.

The tasting is on a veranda surrounded by olive trees and vines and on our visit we met four very beautiful and friendly labradors. The winery is very do-able on a day trip from San Francisco.

We found Peter Cellars through Edge of the World Tours in San Francisco which I also highly recommend. Ask for Anthony.“

Nicholson Ranch LLC Wineries •
4200 Napa Rd, Sonoma

“This is our favorite spot in Sonoma. We live on the east coast and visit every fall. Of course we are part of the wine club! Not only is their wine fantastic but they also go above and beyond in showing hospitality. It’s special here. This is a small, family run winery. Deepak (owner, winemaker) is always there to say hello and chat and makes you feel so welcome. On this most recent trip, our friends who were also visiting CA joined us for a first time visit to Nicholson Ranch, and Jessi knocked it out of the park. She provided a lovely educational tasting experience and cave tour which included both Nicholson and Gulrajani wines, followed by some ‘heavy snacks’ (try the burrata with pistachio, it was amazing) … oh… and a lot of laughs. A great time was had by all. We will always come back.“

“Our favorite stop out of 5 days in Sonoma/Napa! We enjoyed the wine here more than any of the high dollar, fancy vineyards we visited!

Great wines, great setting, and a very friendly host!

Personal favorites were the 2021 Merlot from Pickberry Vyd and the 2019 Cab Sav, but it’s a hard pick because everything was fantastic.“

Highly recommend this winery. The 2024 yeah! Was so so good, and Im still thinking about the orange wine.“

Kamen Estate Wines Wineries •

“We stumbled upon this place by complete chance and we were met with surprise after surprise. Who knew about Kamen’s history ! Maybe people do but we certainly didn’t. It was really interesting to learn about his past - starting all the way back in india in kashmir and ending at where he did - a winning screenplay writer and certainly a winning Cabernet for us! This was the best Cabernet we had in the region. Not overpowering yet so complex. Mark herold is a magician with his winemaking and Kamen himself is a magician given everything he touches turns to gold! Great stop. Andi hosted us at the tasting room and was a great story teller! We would highly recommend“

He made it such a great experience. In fact, Aaron told him I usually don’t buy wine at tastings and I ended up buying 6 bottles. “The wine doesn't taste good.
Probably because of European Italian wine, the taste is very bland, without layers, and very dry.
Except for the first glass of sparkling rose, which was okay, the rest of the red was not good.“

Thirty-Seven Winery Winery •
3000 Sears Point Rd, Sonoma

“I’ve been a member of Cliff Lede and several Wilson wineries, all of which I love, but this has become my favorite. I think Shane is an excellent winemaker and the variety of wines is amazing. I drink mostly reds (love especially the Hermit blend and blaufrankisch as well as the cab franc) but the Albariño white is excellent as well. The virtual tastings in the past two years have also been great introductions to the wines. Highly recommend.“

Ram's Gate Winery Winery •
28700 Arnold Dr, Sonoma

“I am a bit delayed in posting this, but my partner and I delighted in the full tasting menu at Ram’s Gate. I’ve enjoyed many tastings throughout wine country and Ram’s Gate has one of the better, more elevated experiences at a reasonable price (if I may add)! I am not even a fan of carrots but the carrot risotto was one of my favorite courses. That should say a lot about the quality of food being delivered by culinary team here.

The property is beautiful and the staff was very friendly. We were greeted with bubbles while we waited for our reservation in the gorgeous courtyard. We even got some amazing local food recommendations from our server! I’d highly recommend and will definitely come back!“

“This review is specifically for Charlie. He is such a gem of a person and we were so lucky that he was the one doing our tasting because it took our already 5 star experience to a 10. He was so friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about the vineyard and the wine. It was such an actual joy to listen to him speak about each wine and with such detail cause you could really tell that he cares about the vineyard but also the experience of the customer. The wine was also incredible and we ended up bringing back a lovely bottle of pinot noir back to New Jersey with us and will definitely be looking for this in our local stores. I highly recommend coming here to catch the sunset as it was stunning and felt like we were in a movie! I loved my experience here and would recommend this to anyone visiting, it was a true highlight for us during our stay. Thank you Charlie and go Eagles!“
