“Super chill lunch spot and unbelievably fast service. Huge menu options and still comes out flavorful. Lunch vibes are peaceful and layout allows to chill vibes while enjoying good food. If there Chinese dish you want, they will have it. Order at the table style so super easy for larger groups. Parking is in the middle of a shopping complex and Sunnyvale so when it gets busy hard to find parking but there are spaces available around the area. Overall a really nice Chinese food spot that would definitely visit again.“

“Came here with a group of five for an early dinner on a Saturday afternoon (4PM). There was plenty of space inside since it was a winky meal time, and there was no wait. It was quiet when we first arrived, but it gradually filled with more people and chatter. Parking was easy; I was lucky to find street parking right in front of the restaurant.

The interior is cute and themed like China in olden times. I liked how the food was served on long platters with little candles underneath to keep everything warm, which made sharing easy. Two of my friends were trying Chinese skewers for the first time.

We ordered everything through a QR code, and the system was straightforward. The menu being visual online helped made ordering easier. The food came out in good timing. The staff was helpful whenever we had questions about what certain items were. Water refills were easy to flag down.

The cucumber salad was a huge portion and so refreshing. We wish the cold potato salad was a bit softer (it was crunchy). We didn't find anything too spicy.

For the skewers, everything was juicy and well-seasoned. The flavoring was great. My personal favorites were the beef and lamb sticks which were tender. We also tried items like gristle, gizzard, and gluten (yum!)

We ended up spending a little over $30 per person after tax and tip.

Overall, this was a fun group meal and I'm glad it was a good introduction for my friends who hadn't tried this style of skewers before. I'd recommend it!“

“The high reviews caught my eye. One thing to note is that the food though delicious was a bit too salty. We ordered like 7 dishes to share with 7 people family style but half of the dishes were just way too salty, even for my tastes when I personally enjoy heavily-salted foods. It could be a one-off but I also submitted this review for the free desserts (which is very nice and not too sweet).

Aside from that I would definitely give this restaurant a try again in the future if I hear that their salt levels were better balanced and accounted for.“

“My wife and I stumbled into the restaurant when we were in the area for an appointment. Good prices, very good quality ingredients, and we were very pleasantly surprised with how much we enjoyed our lunch - hot and sour soup, pot stickers, dumplings, and beef soup noodle (which was brisket and excellent). “We had the kung pao VG chicken and orange peel VG steak. Both items were great - special mention for the latter! Been here a few times over the years and been generally happy with the food. The service was the fastest I can remember in a long time. “This is not my usual Chinese restaurant go to, but it was a pretty decent find. My mom orders from this restaurant every now and again. We ordered the Mapo tofu and cilantro beef. The tofu was served in a sweet chili, thin sauce, which packed plenty of flavor with with each bite. It was delicious. I had more mixed feelings about the cilantro beef. If you like a lot of flavor and moderate spice, then you will love this dish. I can handle mild to moderate spiciness, but I felt that this dish had way too much going on. It was just a lot of contradictory flavors, all saturated in spiciness, that was more painful than pleasant. However, my mom loved the cilantro beef, and I have to admit, it went really well with white rice.“

“Tried Ox 9 Lanzhou Handpulled Noodles and honestly… solid spot. The thin noodles surprised me super chewy with great strength even though they’re thin. Respect to the noodle puller because that texture was on point.

The soup was flavorful and came with that classic Lanzhou level grease, which sounds intense but actually keeps the broth hot and satisfying. Spice level was perfectly balanced not trying to end your day, but just enough to wake up your taste buds.

Also tried the thick noodles from the chili oil bowl strong, super chewy, and full of character. Basically the noodle equivalent of someone who works out legs every day.

Overall, this place is a legit hand-pulled noodle fix. Great texture, great flavor, great heat. Definitely coming back whenever that Lanzhou noodle craving hits.“

“It is really tasty food. The broth I think is eapeciallly tasty.

To start I think it’s pretty quick to get a seat, even though the restaurant seems quite busy. The service also seems quite quick and you order quite fast. Seems like there is also a lot of customization available on the menu for the noodle. Once we ordered it wasn’t too long till we got the food.

Overall the food is really good. Texture of the noodle is good, flavouring is good, and spice level is good as well. I didn’t think it was too spicy which was nice.

“A good Chinese restaurant with above average food. We tried the cabbage and pork boiled dumplings, the steamed pork soup dumplings, and the pan fried pork soup dumplings. The pan fried soup dumplings were the best – good flavor, crispy bottoms, and juicy soup inside. The boiled dumplings were only okay. I thought the pork filling for the boiled dumplings was a bit musky, and I found a piece of gristle in one dumpling. The steamed pork soup dumplings could have used more soup but were otherwise fine. We also ordered a side of cucumber salad, which was decent overall but a bit salty and garlicky. The service was brisk and professional. They brought us rice for no extra charge – a nice touch. We thought the atmosphere was pleasant overall, with warm lights and plants.“

“Quite good option for Shanghainese food in South Bay Area.
The Xiaolongbao has thin skins and juicy. The crab Xiaolongbao is not fishy.
Pan fried buns are juicy too. They have cute shape and are pretty. Not as greasy as the traditional Shanghai pan fried buns.
The fried green beans are umami and tasty so we have ordered twice.
The Shanghai salt pork w. vegetable rice is also a hit.
Sweet and sour pork ribs: the ribs are quickly fried to cooked so a bit tough. But the flavor is quite okay.
We like it a lot! It’s close to the neighborhood. Food is not pricy and has reliable good taste.“

“This is one of my favorite places to go for a hearty braised meat meal. Every dish is cooked to perfection and the flavors are interesting and remain authentic. Today we got the braised pork rib which were tender, juicy, and flavorful, and the duck gizzard which was very tasty. Highly recommend this place!“

“Went with a group of 10+ people for a weekday lunch in this restaurant. As a start, we ordered the popular Chinese tea smoked duck and the honey walnut shrimp among others (spicy dishes were mostly avoided as most of us are not comfortable with eating spicy stuff). Service provided was impeccable and the restaurant atmosphere was also nice and quiet. However, the quality of the dishes did not quite match the other two areas mentioned above. Besides the smoked duck dish that was great, the consensus among some of us at my table was that the dishes were a bit too salty and oily. Also, the portion sizes that came with the meat dishes being served were barely sufficient for our table of 8-9 people (did not get feedback from the other table occupants). Nevertheless, the manager prepared a special fish dish that was not found on the menu along with some cultural explanation associated with eating this fish dish which left a favorable impression among the group of us. Thus, this helped to bump up the rating for the standard of the food being served.“

They still have the traditional carts roaming around the dining room with delicious choices. We liked that the classic dimsum fare was still being served and they do not scrimp on portions, unlike many dimsum places in Millbrae and Daly City. The shu mai was juicy and large, as were the shiu bao. The tofu skin wrap had a lot of filling instead of several layers of tofu skin. The ham suy ko was plump and crisp on the outside but chewing on the inside with a good amount of filling. We came for a late lunch but they were still full. “One of my fave dumpling places—only place that I found that had lamb handmade dumplings. The handmade dumplings are always so juicy and flavorful.
