What’s weird is that they take reservations and the workers are surprisingly uptight about it. We were there at open and 2 tables were reserved for a party that’s gonna be there in 40 min. It was shaded, and it’s hot and sunny. So we figured we ordered and we’ll be done before these folks even show up, but we were told to move and can’t sit there by the server. Rather unreasonable, and with limited outdoor only seating, it doesn’t make much business sense to take reservations. I think more money can be made if it’s just first come first serve first serve. And I think owner can be a bit more lax on the seating protocol“

“I've been working in Truckee and I hate eating out. But this place makes food like it's home cooked. If you eat here early between 5:30am-7:00 you a discount on your food. I highly recommend getting the gumbo as a side. I've been telling all of my coworkers about this place. They tried it and they loved it. You won't be disappointed if you do.“

“We just had our anniversary dinner here. How does this restaurant not have a Michelin star? Some of the most incredible food we have ever had and it’s here in Truckee! We have been most disappointed with the truckee food scene especially for what it costs up here, but Trokay is absolutely worth the hype, expense, and your time. The flavors of every course were put together masterfully. I just wish we had gotten it together enough to come here sooner, what a gem to have in town. I hope anyone that is a foodie or just wants to be blown away by some amazing food/ flavors makes it to this restaurant. You will be impressed! The owners are amazing, just look at those resumes, and the service was wonderful. Definitely will be coming back!“

“Great new spot right off of Donner pass rd! Plenty of free parking right out front. The bison-wagyu meatballs, Bolognse, fig and pig pizza were all so good with the Budino desert a perfect end to the meal! Would definitely go back next time in Truckee! 🤤“

“I was searching for food that was not crowded, admittedly I was overwhelmed by the weekenders that flock from all over cities that were crammed in the shopping district. I spotted a church building with a small sign that said, cafe open, as I was making my way out of town with haste. Alas, I found exactly what I needed. Score, big time. It is a beautiful, tranquil space, and the sandwich I had, Ban mi (add turkey)...beyond exquisite. The lavender drink concoction was eloquent and refreshing. Go here for a zen delicious af meal and very nice service.“

“This place is great! One of the best Italian food spots in Truckee! I had their Gnocchi and it was 👌 absolutely perfect. Zano's is great for a couple looking for a good romantic dinner, or a whole family or 5! They have a very accommodating dining area that can handle tons of customers, and their service is impeccable! “Gourmet pizza! We love coming here whenever we are in town. Family owned business and the owner is a wonderful person. We had the pleasure to meet him 3 winters ago. I am so glad how this place gets more and more popular!!

Taste and ingredients are great. The temperature control on the pizza is on point. Price on root beer is so good! Can’t beat that.
One thing to note, it does take long time to get the pizza, if you are in a rush, you can either call ahead to order or try this place when you have time to enjoy. It took us about 45mins to get our pizza a few weeks ago.

They have indoor and outdoor seating! How relaxing.“

“Enjoyed a delicious dinner here with my boyfriend! The service was fantastic, the wine and food were delicious and we hope to return! I had tomato soup and grilled cheese, we both enjoyed wine tasting flights and my bf had a wagyu burger! All very delicious! Many vegetarian options as well :)

“The best part of this restaurant is it's environment and it's dog friendliness. We always go with Ares our JRT and you often see other dogs, on the patio. Food is good too, but I actually like my own cooking of quality meat in general.“

“I was blown away by this little hole in the wall. They could certainly use an atmosphere upgrade but the food is fantastic and the service is amazing. The staff are incredibly attentive and the most friendly crew I've encountered eating out in the last several years. We will definitely be back.“

“What a delicious find! When other restaurants we no longer seating, we went here and what a gem! Their chicken satay was flavourful and fresh. Fried spring rolls were crunchy and delicious. The drunken noodles were the perfect amount of spicy - some good heat, and you can't stop eating them.
