“Black bean fish was superb! It came out hot and fresh in the fish was so fluffy and flavorful in the sauce. It was delightful. I grew up ordering house special fried rice, but my husband prefers chicken fried rice. Most times I’m disappointed and longing for my childhood staple but this chicken fried rice was actually flavorful and delicious. The chicken was very fresh and tender. Now, unfortunately, I ordered the roast duck and roast pork plate and left most of it on the table. It may be because it was the end of the day, but it was very lackluster. It tasted stale. The skin was not crispy and we almost asked to have it taken off the bill, but I did eat a lot of the duck so we just know not to order it again. The duck was at least edible. The pork was not. It was just so dry and lacked flavor. The skin looked crispy, but it was not crispy at all. It was leathery.“

“We ate at The Original Hoy-Ka Thai Noodle twice during our time in Hollywood, which should tell you how good it was. The food was consistently excellent, fresh, and full of flavor.
I went for the vegetarian version of their namesake Hoy-Ka noodle soup—wide rice noodles with tofu and mushrooms instead of chicken—and I seriously dreamed about it afterward. The broth had the right balance of spicy, sour, savory, and comforting, with noodles that held up perfectly. It was one of those bowls you keep thinking about long after you leave.
We also had the tofu drunken noodles and tofu R-Ka Prao, both ordered mild and without fish sauce or oyster sauce. Everything was spot on: flavorful, satisfying, and clearly made to order. The Ruam Mitr mixed-fruit dessert was a nice way to cool down at the end.
Parking on Sunset can be a little tricky, but they have valet parking in the back and it is tip-only. Do not let parking scare you off. We would happily eat here again on every trip to Hollywood.“

“The Pho is enough for 2 people and it's delicious! We have had both the chicken and the Wagu beef. Also, the rice plates with fried rice and either Wagu beef or spicy pork is really good. We get one of each (Pho and rice plate) and share. We are quite full and satisfied when we finish! And the prices are very reasonable.“

“Been wanting to try this place for a couple years now. Glad we finally did. Excellent food, much better than any Jinya Ramen. We had a bunch of appetizers. Indeed, their Takoyaki was amazing, Howard Yang! 😍 We had 2 seasonal specials, the Spicy Crispy Shrimp Roll and the cold Tan Tan ramen. Both were fantastic, albeit a bit too spicy for me. Service is super friendly. We will definitely be back. Want to try a bunch of other things, including the hot ramens.“

“The Tom Yum Goong Pizza was absolutely delicious! The flavors were bold, fresh, and very well balanced. You can really taste the classic tom yum flavors in every bite.

The shrimp was tasty, and I loved the combination of spicy, tangy, creamy, and savory flavors. It’s such a creative idea to turn Tom Yum Goong into a pizza, and it worked so well.

Definitely a unique dish worth trying, especially if you love Thai food and want something different from a regular pizza. I would happily order it again. Highly recommend.“

“One of several new malatang places in the area, Bruin Bowl is not a large place, but they seem to have a solid selection of meats, veggies, noodles, and seafood despite their modest size. Both the bone broth and the chicken/fish maw soup bases are pretty tasty too. Excellent option if you're in the area.“

“I’ll be honest, was initially skeptical by these Drunken Noodles considering how ‘plain’ I thought they looked, but clearly I didn’t know what I was talking about. “You can tell everything you need to know about Masakazu from the miso soup. Shin explained that instead of bonito flakes, he uses real fish and shrimp to make the broth. The amount of care and attention he put into making something special out of a dish that can so easily be an afterthought was in every carefully rationed sip, and that same level of care carried through the entire meal.

We did the omakase and it was a great amount of variety and food. Shin is incredibly skilled and thoughtful about what he served, but it was great to be able to talk to him to get his perspective on the dishes. He's also hilarious.

By the end, it felt like we’d had an experience rather than just gone out for sushi.

Honestly, it’s hard to pick a favorite. The salmon was the best New Zealand salmon I've had, the bluefin tuna was incredible, the scallop was a nice surprise at the end, and there was also this steamed sea bream that somehow became another favorite. All of the seared pieces were amazing too. Basically, it's hard to pick out a favorite.

Everything was beautifully prepared, the ingredients were fresh, the flavors layered masterfully. More than that, you could taste Shin's care and pride in each bite.

Sometimes the dishes can be on the smaller side, the portion varies when I'm here (and I come usually once a week) but I use that as an excuse to get two. My favorites: rad na, pad Thai, pad see ew, and papaya salad. All excellent. Each dish is $10. And the warm polite smiling demeanor, just like in Thailand. They aren't here on Wednesdays, even though Google says they are, I made the mistake twice and was very hungry and upset to find them not open.“

“I visited this place on 04/07/2026, and saying that I liked it would be an understatement.

The service was 100 out of 10. The waiter knew the menu very well and was able to make great recommendations. I ordered the coconut milk soup with seafood, and it was absolutely delicious. There was a lot of seafood in it, and the portion was very generous.

We also ordered chicken and drinks. Honestly, the amount of food they brought us could easily feed three people. For $49 total, it was definitely worth it.

I also want to mention the honesty and kindness of the staff. I accidentally left my AirPods at the table, and the waitress found my car in the parking lot and personally returned them to me. That really impressed me and says a lot about the level of service and care they provide.

The atmosphere was calm, pleasant, and very welcoming. I definitely recommend this place and would be happy to come back again.“

I tried their signature dish, the beef noodles, and opted for the mild spicy version, which unexpectedly came with kimchi in the soup. I would recommend going with the regular flavor to fully appreciate the rich flavor of the broth. Kimchi is also served as a standard side dish. The ribs in the noodles were perfectly cooked, and the noodles themselves were delightfully chewy and tasty.

While the service was not particularly friendly or proactive, it didn't significantly detract from the overall quality of the food. Mountain Noodles is a solid choice for anyone craving varolious and well-prepared Korean cuisine.“
