“I doubt seriously if you'll find a better selection of home made middle Eastern foods anywhere - This place even outdoes NYC. Fresh, tasty, generous servings, reasonable prices. Take out or order and eat in the large dining area exquisitely decorated. This is a hidden gem in Monroe. Say hello to Lola - the owner and proud chef. By the way, it's worth a visit just to see the Egyptian Decor and statuary.”

“I dined here with a group of six a couple of weeks ago and everything we ordered was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. The portions were very generous, our waiter was attentive, kind and pleasant. The music, atmosphere and ambiance were lovely and the food and desserts were incredible. I ordered food to go last night and met the owner, he was such a wonderful man and very appreciative of his customers. Once again everything was perfect and delicious. I can’t wait to go back soon. I highly recommend that you check out Flames soon.”

“Had a party of ten tonight for my brothers birthday. Many of us in the area have not been here before and it was an absolutely awesome time. Food, atmosphere and service was wonderful. Zach was with our table and he was so accommodating, with top customer service communication. Couldn’t recommend it higher. A must if and when in the area. We will be back. “Testo's is hands down the best restaurant in town, if not all of fairfield county. Their food and portions are phenomenal, and never disappoint. My friends and I frequently visit and almost always order off the specials menu, which has something for everyone. My last dish was Lobster Ravioli Lillian. Dave was absolutely amazing the day of the brunch…from set-up until the end! He handled all of our requests, with a big smile on his face to boot! The brunch was delicious. “Love Sals. From Jersey and this has to be the best pizza around. Most other places that have sauce that is either flavorless or too sweet. Sals pizza is as close to perfect as it gets. Ambiance is that of an old school Italian joint and there's something nice about that. Reminds me of childhood.”

“AMAZING! A.S is amazing. Their staff is so patient and helpful. The quality of the food and cleanliness of the location is near perfect. We usually travel to Norwalk, but thankful they opened a location near Shelton/Monroe. We went before Christmas Eve and it made our holiday feel “normal”.”

“I eat a lot of authentic Mexican food. This place is definitely very good. Haven’t had anything from here I didn’t enjoy. I order at least 3 times a week since I live up the road. My favorite being the Enchilada Cemita. I recommend El Gallo Dorado to everyone.”

“My friend and I stopped in for lunch on a whim since our first two places didn’t work out. We enjoyed what we got I got a well done bacon egg and cheese and my friend had the Gorgonzola salad. My friend was a huge fan of the salad and even made sure to tell the manager. I would go again to try something else and I know my friend will be back for the salad!”

“The veal dishes were great. The service started slow but ended fine. The main dining room is nice enough but the manager likes very loud music. Someone needs to tell them that Heavy Metal is not good dinner music.”

“Today my wife and I stopped into Jennie's Pizzeria for some late lunch. We entered the bar area. There were no seats at the bar because they were all taken by what appeared to be regulars, they all knew one another. Several others were standing, blocking the way to small tables across from the bar. As we tried to walk to one of these tables we were blocked by the senior citizen regulars who did not move. They would not move for my wife and only did after I spoke up and said very loudly "excuse me". They were not happy and copped an attitude but moved slightly so we could get through. It was very unwelcoming and profoundly cliquey. Sad they have to have a clique at their age. We sat down and it took forever for the one barmaid to come over. She was constantly being called by one of the regulars at the bar to get them more drinks. We ordered and the food took a while to arrive. It was good so no complaints there. The problem with this place is the clientele during happy hour. They are Senior citizens who are rude, cliquey, unfriendly to other patrons and frankly a sad bunch if all they have to do is hang out in a bar everyday to drink. Later a young waitress, who was cute came out and was met with comments from one of the older regulars at the bar. She had to walk around several patrons who did not move to let her pass with food. These people acted like they owned the place and were not happy outsiders invaded their little drinking party. As a result of all this we will never go there to eat again. There are plenty of other places which serve the exact menu close by.”

“The quest for great Chinese food in the Trumbull area has brought me many places! Bridgeport, Monroe, Trumbull, even parts of Fairfield... but my favorite so far, has been Xiang's Kitchen. It was a recommendation from someone in Easton that brought me here! According to them, Xiang's was the best! And I agree.
I'm a simple man when it comes to Chinese food, just some mild General Tso's, some beef lo mein, and steamed dumplings. Its the occasional dinner takeout. Xiang's has a combination plate with fried rice and an egg roll, which is great. It comes so stacked into that container, they couldn't fit anymore in there. I love it! Prices are decent too and the food is great. Definitely recommend!”

“This might be the best take out Chinese. The food is made quickly and is always fresh. They have really good boneless spare ribs and lo mein. They also have Chinese tea, chopsticks, and sauce packets available. The owners are friendly. They have a small table to wait at too. Overall excellent Chinese take out.”

“This restaurant should be on every block in every city. The perfect place for lunch with fantastic prices and great portions. I highly recommend you get the special where you can order a half panini and small soup. You will be full to the brim and get to experience as much of the menu as possible. I'd eat my way through the full menu if I lived closer. Loved this place.”
