“Truly remarkable. We enjoyed the 9-course tasting menu with the wine pairing and waygu enhancement, putting dinner at $375pp including tax and tip. Worth every penny. Our primary server, Gabriela, was fantastic although several other staff members delivered our dishes, including both managers and a member of the chef’s team. I enjoyed the variance as it allows one to meet several members of the staff. Of the nine wines there was one I didn’t care for so, when asked how I liked it and said, “not so much” it was immediately replaced with a choice between two fine wines. It’s in these moments you understand the staff are true professionals providing the best dining experience possible. Gabriela, or Gaby as she prefers to be called, is a true professional The only marks against is the dress code. One gentleman at the bar was in a T-shirt and a baseball cap. Later two gentleman sat at a high top near the door, both in baseball caps. Also, the bartender was wearing a tank-top with the back cutout, something one would expect at a beach bar. The stark contrast between she and the very smartly dressed manager, Jonathan Smith, in a suit and tie, was noticeable. I’m old school dining with my 94 year old father who is really old school so my critique of attire when we’re only here for dinner may seem displaced. My apologies. For anyone looking for a remarkable dining experience in Miami Beach I highly recommend Stubborn Seed. You will leave full and an experience you’ll remember forever“

“This is a hidden gem of Miami. One of the greatest restaurants I’ve been to. It has a very unique Vietnamese menu and every dish is different, unique and sooo flavorful. The service is great, a lot of young people working there and the place runs smoothly although is always very busy. I recommend going with a reservation. The desserts surprise me and also the restrooms!! Go and check it out!!!“

“We choose it for dinner based on the reviews but after our experience we agree that the rating is too high. The serving was mediocre, the mojito was served in a water glass. We ordered pizza for the kids and the salami was spicy, they couldn’t eat it- a heads up would have been mandatory in this case. Despite all that the paella was very tasty, and one is enough to serve 2 persons. The prices are in the average scale for Ocean Drive.“

“I've been to Teezee Tasty Cuisine and Chef Talley.Chef Creole was as good or better. I had the Jerk Chicken with Collard greens,Beans and Rice. The beans and rice was excellent as well as the jerk chicken which was boneless breast. Everything was moist tender and seasoned perfect.“

We tried the tasting menu recently, which has almost everything on the menu, and were blown away by the sauces in all the dishes. “I had heard about this hot restaurant from New York that I must try, but was reticent to do so because Carbone was the name of a character from Goodfellas that Robert Deniro's Jimmy Conway whacked when tying up loose ends after the Lufthansa job! Platitudes like wonderful ambience, fine service, flavorful food, great family style dining, are all applicable but just don't capture the full spirit of the evening. From the pickled cauliflower, to the signature spicy rigatoni ala vodka (which pairs nicely with their pinot noir offering Presqu'ile), to the Caesar salad (you must have those croutons!), and their delicious Italian petit-fours, everything burst with flavor and was resplendent of the authenticity of old Venice. And since you will be spending more than a few pennies here, one must luxuriate in the mid century environs replete with Murano glass chandeliers while being serenaded with a sound track of Italian crooners like Mel Torme and Frank Sinatra in the full bela canta tradition. If you have a special occasion, Carbones Miami Beach will make for a memorable evening.“

“Recoveco is by far my favorite restaurant in Miami. I am shocked they don’t already have a Michelin star, because it is at the level. They have a seasonal menu which I love because it changes often, stays fresh, and everything they come up with is spectacular. From the first plates (papaya salad for the win), main dishes, THE DESSERTS, the service, this place is always on point. The last time we dined there our server, Michelle, was an absolute angel. He joked with us, gave us a different bread dip to try, and made us feel at home. We stayed with the calamari which was delicious. I had the salmon with mashed potatoes and it was very flavorful.
