I used to manage restaurants for many years before I switched careers, and have been slightly disappointed that some service standards seemed to have gone by the wayside. Still, our service was good, and our server was very efficient.”

He was incredibly social and also very polite. They even brought out cookies and a candle for my friend’s birthday. Even better that we happened to come at the same time as Coach Spurrier for dinner. Overall great staff, amazing food, and great environment.”

“We have become repeat customers and decided this is our new favorite sushi and ramen place! Service: the staff is always friendly and attentive, took out allergy concern very seriously and double checked everything with the chefs. Food: the quality is consistent, the ramen portions are generous, and I appreciate the sushi rolls all have distinct flavors. I personally love the takoyaki which have come out fresh and piping hot every time. Atmosphere: anime posters on the walls, very tidy table and chairs layout, lighting that isnt too bright or too dim. The bathrooms are also very clean.”

The air conditioning was running at full capacity and it wasn’t enough fresh air, specially at our table close to the open kitchen. It’s early August so it’s understandable. I’m coming back again later this fall!”

“we had a appointment at Shands and decided to have an early dinner. we started with the grouper fingers which were excellent. For my dinner I had the fried green tomatoes and she crab soup. They were both delicious 😋 Hubby had chicken sandwich and fries which were both good but he wishes he would have gotten something else like the shrimp etouffee. We will definitely be back. Our waitress was an absolute sweetheart sorry I forgot her name. But highly recommend!!”

“Las Carretas has been my go to restaurant in Gainesville for 2 years now! But this recent experience shows just how amazing the staff really is. Saturday I suspected I lost a diamond ring at one of the booths. I called Sunday and left my number in case something showed up. I wasn’t hopeful I’d be getting a call back. On Wednesday I got a call from Javi notifying me they found a ring. Turns out, It was my ring !! 😭🥹 I love the food, drinks, and atmosphere of this restaurant but the people who work here are truly great people. Thank you Las Carretas staff for being honest and amazing at what you do. 🫶🏼”

I had the Queenie, James Brown, Peppered Porter, the Golden Ale and the Bat Adder Helles. Each were unique in their flavors. Many breweries get stuck on the same flavor profile, you won't find that here. I will definitely be back.”

The pink sauce was watery and tasted absolutely horrendous, the pickles tasted like they were dumped in the box with a spoon of cooking oil, and if that wasn’t enough, the cashier didn’t even pay attention to what was ordered and instead thrown a “you never ordered that” remark. Whatever you changed, please fix it because I crave your food so much and it would be a shame not to come back because the quality was bad. Other than this ONE incident; big milks has been my favorite summertime spot for the past three years. On point until this one time but I have faith that big mills will get it fixed and back on track. Their fried pickles are my favorite combined with their ice cold sweet and tart frozen strawberry lemonade.”

“I went in and ate alone. I had Nonna's Spaghetti with a garden salad. The best Spaghetti I have eaten at a restaurant. The foccia bread was seasoned just right with rosemary. The honey balsamic glaze was delicious. I drank a glass of Moscato with my meal. I had flan inhouse and took home tiramisu. The waitress Sharmenda was absolutely wonderful. I will be back with my family. Thank you all so much for a fantastic experience.”

“Well after seeing such great reviews for this restaurant. It has only been about a month and a half. And it shows, waitstaff was running around crazy to make sure everyone was accommodated.
Well its situated in a small strip of shops, and parking can be tricky as there are some popular venues and another restaurant there as well. We got there just at the right time, got a up front parking spot, and the last booth. they line the outer area with booths, and have tables in the middle.
Took a couple minutes for our server to get caught up, but we had some amazing appetizers, sushi and dessert was amazing too!! Sushi was amazing, presentation was awesome, and the appetizers came out hot, and the only thing i would add for the appetizers is maybe having different dipping sauces for some of them, 3 different appetizers and the same sauce for all 3.used to something a little different in that aspect, just a suggestion. The appetizers were amazing without sauce..

“Ford's garage fries, crispy yet soft on the inside. Flaky and peppery with a perfect balance of salt to compliment it. Hard to get on point fries, however these people accomplished it. The burger is larger than you would expect from a visual standpoint. It has fresh ingredients. I had the bison instead of the standard beef. It's freshly ground instead of ground beef. So as opposed to the patties being frozen coming in it's slabs of meat that they grind and then cook. The medium well option that I went with I recommend highly. They seared it on the outside and cooked at medium on the inside. The char has good flavor to it and the barbecue sauce has a very nice marriage with the cheddar cheese and the applewood smoked bacon. The romaine lettuce adds a nice touch on the bottom of the burger instead of the top. It's overall a very hard Burger to beat by any other restaurant. I very strongly recommend Ford's garage to any nostalgic burger lover.”

There is a wide variety of different types of food to choose from! (I.e: soups, empanadas—better than Mi Apá!—chorizo (sausage), arepas, sandwiches, and MORE!) there are also bakery items, like Flan, Arroz Con Leche (rice pudding), and so much more. I recommend the Beef Empanadas, Chorizo & Cheese empanadas, and try their Arepas! If you want something sweet they sell “Chocolatina Jets” which are fun-sized chocolate bars or the Cocosette! This is a great place and I’ve always had a great experience here with food and service”

We highly recommend the shrimp appetizer; it was packed with flavor. Our waitress was really attentive, and the whole restaurant was very clean and comfortable. The only miss was the Parmesan-crusted chicken—our daughter says it was just okay, so maybe skip that one. Overall, a great experience!”

“Tonight, Gainesville Bonefish Grill put on a wine and food pairing event, it was very, very very good, they did an excellent job, there were a few bubbles, but having been in the restaurant business before these are unavoidable. The wine was good not spectacular, but enjoyable, the food was delicious but for this 85-year-old appetite way too much food. The three ladies across from us having her girls night out made the whole evening very special. Unfortunately, the old man next to my daughter was negative about everything. Luckily, I was not seated next to him. Because I have no tolerance for people like that. according to my daughter, she enjoyed herself, so that’s all that matters. The wait staff did A very nice job, which always makes the meal much better.”

Our decision to try the "Seafood Dock " was definitely the best one ever. The service was superb, our food was served without much of a wait , it was fresh, hot and presentation was on point. “We had the best experience tonight! Our waiter, Cam, was absolutely amazing. He was so attentive and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. We were celebrating a birthday, and Cam went above and beyond to make the dinner extra special for the birthday girl. He really made the evening feel fun and memorable!
The service was outstanding, and the food was soooo delicious, every bite was incredible. We can’t wait to come back again, and when we do, we’ll definitely be asking for Cam. Highly recommend both the restaurant and Cam’s service!”

Our waiter’s service was great and despite the fact that we didn’t have the bottle of Prosecco we wanted, he solved the problem diligently. The picturesque backdrop and complimentary valet parking makes you feel like you're not in Gainesville anymore. Absolutely wonderful place for an escape date night! Now, the food. We had the deviled eggs for a starter. Nope. Pass on it. Hubby ordered the Coco Pirinah drink and it was presented lavishly, befitting the place. Very original but just a touch too tart and tad weak for our taste. For mains we both ordered steak frites entrees. The salad was deceitfully simple and plain looking but actually original and very delicious. The steak was prepared properly to order and was tasty. Limited menu and food/drink just shy of wow got it to 4 stars. 5th star for the view, complimentary valet parking and setting. The next time I went in I met her and could see that she was completely dedicated to the customer. It was great to see. I believe her name was Isabella Rose. Excellent job young lady! “Tony Dilla's is an office favorite and you cant ever go wrong with them. We love the avocado creme its to die for. The service is top notch and our only complaint is that they dont open till 1 and they are closed on Monday. I have to go all weekend and then Monday too without my Dilla's. “irst time going to Cava- What a find! There was a line, but no one in line got upset , I suppose because they knew they were going to get WONDERFUL food! Brenda was working the line, and she was really efficiently going- getting every order right, and not getting frustrated. Although there were a lot of people, we didn't wait long, and whatever time it was- it was SO worth it! The food was, (sorry Zoes Kitchen), the best Mediterranean around. The sauces were fresh and bright and very flavorful! Lamb kebab and falafel were tender and spiced well. Lettuces and vegetables were fresh and crisp. I just wish I could have tried everything- I don't think I would have been disappointed! Eat outside if the weather permits. Oh! Also, The ambient music was even good and surprisingly different from the ubiquitous droning normally heard in todays restaurants!”

“Ford's garage fries, crispy yet soft on the inside. Flaky and peppery with a perfect balance of salt to compliment it. Hard to get on point fries, however these people accomplished it. The burger is larger than you would expect from a visual standpoint. It has fresh ingredients. I had the bison instead of the standard beef. It's freshly ground instead of ground beef. So as opposed to the patties being frozen coming in it's slabs of meat that they grind and then cook. The medium well option that I went with I recommend highly. They seared it on the outside and cooked at medium on the inside. The char has good flavor to it and the barbecue sauce has a very nice marriage with the cheddar cheese and the applewood smoked bacon. The romaine lettuce adds a nice touch on the bottom of the burger instead of the top. It's overall a very hard Burger to beat by any other restaurant. I very strongly recommend Ford's garage to any nostalgic burger lover.”

“Las Carretas has been my go to restaurant in Gainesville for 2 years now! But this recent experience shows just how amazing the staff really is. Saturday I suspected I lost a diamond ring at one of the booths. I called Sunday and left my number in case something showed up. I wasn’t hopeful I’d be getting a call back. On Wednesday I got a call from Javi notifying me they found a ring. Turns out, It was my ring !! 😭🥹 I love the food, drinks, and atmosphere of this restaurant but the people who work here are truly great people. Thank you Las Carretas staff for being honest and amazing at what you do. 🫶🏼”
