“We had a fantastic evening at Hiyakawa—warm hospitality, generous portions, and an omakase that reminded us why this place is so special. Chef Royce’s talent really shines in the precision and balance of each course.

The shrimp nigiri was the standout for us—cooked to perfection—closely followed by the otoro with caviar, which was a wonderfully generous touch and beautifully balanced. My friend loved the monkfish liver, and I was especially impressed by the baby eel nigiri.

Chef Jaimie’s dishes were also memorable—especially the steamed tofu, which was incredibly silky and tasty, with a delicate, well-balanced flavor. The perfectly fried shrimp head was a treat, and the refreshing dessert ended the meal on a light, clean note.

“I celebrated my Mom’s 89th Birthday at Japan Inn located in Doral with a Hibachi Lunch and everything turned out great! From the time we made the reservation for our party of 20 they were very accommodating and helpful. We were allowed to take our own cake, some balloons for decor and the ambiance was super! From the Servers to the Hibachi Chefs … everyone was pleasant, the food yummy and the service outstanding. Everyone in our party was happy and satisfied with the experience and our celebration…especially the birthday girl, my Mom. I highly recommend Japan Inn in Doral for any occasion. There’s ample parking, the restaurant is clean and the spacious setting is very nice. Plus Roger, the Manager, is very professional as well as the whole team who work there. We look forward to returning soon and wish to express our gratitude for the service and attention given to our party.“

Their dumplings are to die for. They have a good selection of sake and you can buy bottles for your table. Our server was very friendly and made recommendations. If you on a date , the lighting is nice and a little dark. It's a place that is semi-classy where it's not suit and tie, but I also would not go in looking like a scrub. They have a bar and sushi bar to sit at. It does get busy. For food I recommend trying the kobe sushi. They light flame the meat to let the oil out to intense the taste. Too bad I didn't order more. If I would have just ordered two bottles of sake, ten skewers, sides sides and some sushi, the bill with rip would have been under two hundred for two people. The drinking cost the most of the bill. If your in Miami, look them up you will not be dissatisfied“

The food is phenomenal, the ambiance, service and attention to detail were on point; all and everyone of the dishes were delicious and beautiful works of art, not too many that make you feel stuffed but more than enough so you leave satisfied. “The chefs special sashimi was so fresh. Texture was very delicate and melted in the mouth. The toro hand roll was filled with delicious fatty tuna and had the right amount of bite. Loved seeing the two talented sushi masters upfront working their craft, precisely cutting the fish, into vibrant work of arts.

This hole in the wall gem of West Kendall is well worth your time to try! I came in with my boyfriend last night to their small no frills location and was immediately greeted by our server who was very attentive throughout our whole meal. It's true that they do serve everything using plastic ware which to me doesn't matter at all. I care about the quality of food and the food is definitely top notch! My boyfriend and I decided to order various menu items to share. I started with a hot bowl of Miso Soup $2 which was good; loved the portion which I felt was more than most places. Next we had the Rainbow Roll $10 (California roll topped w/various fish) which was glaringly fresh and came out beautifully. The Sexy Roll $10 (fish tempura, avocado, cilantro, jalapeño, rolled w/soy paper, tempura flakes, eel sauce, spicy mayo) was by far my favorite just because of all the incredible flavors in it. The Florida Roll $9 (spicy conch, cucumber, masago) definitely surprised me with its spice level and amount of conch within it. Lastly, we ordered the Sushi Corner Fried Rice $8 (chicken, shrimp, vegetables, and masago) which ultimately surprised me in portion and tastiness. The fried rice isn't over done with soy sauce so it remains tasting light though its also savory because of a smoky flavor. So tasty! “I honestly have no words to describe this place. This is by far my favorite sushi restaurant in Miami!!!!!!!!

Everything was exceptional, from the service to the quality of every dish. The owner personally came to check in, which made the experience feel even more special.

The kampachi sashimi was hands down my number one favorite, absolutely out of this world. We also loved the tempura shrimp, and the fresh wasabi prepared at the table really shows the level of care and quality.

We finished with a matcha cake, and honestly, I couldn’t pick a favorite because everything was incredible. The price was also more than fair for the quality.

“Went to Yamashiro for my birthday dinner and overall had a great experience. We were running a bit late for our reservation due to traffic, but the host was very accommodating and still able to seat us, which we really appreciated.

The restaurant itself is beautiful and feels very upscale. The ambiance was great, lively but still comfortable enough to enjoy the evening. The music was a bit loud with a DJ on site, but we could still have a conversation without an issue.

The food was excellent. The Katsu Sando, which is one of the standout items on the menu, was good to have at least once but wouldn't necessarily go back for it. However, the nigiri, hand rolls, and other sushi dishes were truly exceptional and definitely the highlight of the meal.

We also ordered a bottle of sake, which stayed with the waiter. My only suggestion would be for the restaurant to have bottle coolers at the table so guests can easily refill their glasses while the waiter is attending to other tables.

Overall, I would highly recommend it: great atmosphere and excellent sushi.“
