“My two sisters and I went in on a Thursday at 6:15 with no reservations. We were warmly welcomed at the host stand and told they could seat us at the bar. We asked the host who seated us what his favorite dishes are and he recommended the creamy polenta appetizer and the pork chop. We were then greeted at the bar by Maria who was friendly and extremely helpful. She recommended a few wines and dishes and we settled on the polenta appetizer, a salad to share then we shared the spaghetti pomodoro, the mushroom pasta and the pork chop. Everything was truly delicious and we would definitely return.”

“I had heard about this hot restaurant from New York that I must try, but was reticent to do so because Carbone was the name of a character from Goodfellas that Robert Deniro's Jimmy Conway whacked when tying up loose ends after the Lufthansa job! Poor sap was hanging frozen in a meat locker. I'm glad I put that imagery aside because this place was amazing! Platitudes like wonderful ambience, fine service, flavorful food, great family style dining, are all applicable but just don't capture the full spirit of the evening. From the pickled cauliflower, to the signature spicy rigatoni ala vodka (which pairs nicely with their pinot noir offering Presqu'ile), to the Caesar salad (you must have those croutons!), and their delicious Italian petit-fours, everything burst with flavor and was resplendent of the authenticity of old Venice. And since you will be spending more than a few pennies here, one must luxuriate in the mid century environs replete with Murano glass chandeliers while being serenaded with a sound track of Italian crooners like Mel Torme and Frank Sinatra in the full bela canta tradition. If you have a special occasion, Carbones Miami Beach will make for a memorable evening.”

“My experience at Las' Lap was excellent from beginning to end! The decor and ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful. The service by the wait staff was top notch. They were knowledgeable about every item on the menu, made great recommendations and were attentive throughout our dining experience. “I had a birthday brunch reservation on the 24th of January, me and 4 other girls . The place is beautiful and the waitress , I think busar was her name was very sweet and attentive. I only had an issue with the food runner , I didn't get her name but she was a heavier set Spanish women with blonde hair. When she brought our food out I asked her if she can remove our two coffees from the table and when she noticed they were unfinished she then asked me “are you finished” I said “ yes please you can take them” .. as she grabs the coffees she then turned around to the coffee bar where the other employees were and she rolled her eyes as if we offended her .. then when she came back to the table to bring other foods, she handed me a plate with only bacon on it so I then added it to a plate I already had .. she proceeded to say “ I'll just take these so your not inconvenienced any more” .. a girl I was with asked her to repeat herself because at the point she had already been giving us attitude for literally no reason , but when asked to repeat herself she brushed it off and said “nothing” . It got worse when a girl in my party asked her for more caramel for her coffee to which the lady told her “ I can get it from the barista but when you make a review make sure you thank you thank her by name” ... I felt so bothered by her disgusting attitude, if it wasn't for this women I feel like the whole brunch would've been perfect but because she has an attitude when we didn't even give her a reason to treat us as such just didn't sit right with me . I most likely won't be going back but like I said our actual waitress was great and so was the food. It's unfortunate how one person can ruin it for everyone .”

They have reasonable prices but remember you are in SOUTH BEACH !”

“We would definitely give 5 for the services, especially for Belford, he’s amazing.. Food is good, most of them, especially the sushi, just miso soup and kid’s pasta are a bit salt. A big issue we can’t give it 5 is because it’s too cold of environment. We had to ask for carpets and unfortunately they need time to get it.”

“Was a very busy location on a Sunday (24-02-18) at brunch time, had a bit of a wait. Once seated we ordered cinnamon roll crepes and the seniors French toast with a side of shredded hashbrowns. Our waitress Elena came back and said they didn’t have any crepes or French toast. Asked for what I’d like instead, so I ordered a strawberry biscuit, and she told Mike she could see if they could do his French toast on regular bread. Took quite a while but eventually got our meals. Food was good and the waitress was great despite the problems that were beyond her control. We will go back again!”

He made the best Subway sandwich I’ve had in a long time — perfectly put together, fresh, and flavorful. You could tell he actually cared about doing a good job, which really stood out.

The only downside was there was no olives, but of course, that was not his fault.”

“We recently dined here on a Sunday evening around 6:30 PM. The restaurant was moderately busy — not empty, but not fully packed either. Overall, the food was very good, and our waiter was attentive without being intrusive, which we truly appreciated. However, there were a couple of things that could use improvement. We were seated in a corner booth, and the tables next to us were empty. At one point, I asked my husband to sit next to me briefly so we could take a quick selfie — something that took less than two minutes. Out of nowhere, the hostess approached us in a chastising tone and told us we couldn't sit like that because the table was reserved. The interaction felt unnecessarily stern, especially considering the seats were empty at the time and remained empty for at least 45 minutes afterward. We tried to explain that it was only for a quick photo, but she did not acknowledge what we said. She delivered her message and walked away without any further response. The tone and manner of the interaction felt condescending and quite rude, which unfortunately left a negative impression. Additionally, when making the reservation, we were asked whether we were celebrating a special occasion, and we said yes. We were even asked about it again when we were seated. However, it was never mentioned afterward, and there was no acknowledgment during the meal. At a restaurant of this caliber, you would assume there is a purpose for noting special occasions during the reservation process, so that lack of follow-through was disappointing. Again, the food was good, and our server did a great job. With a bit more attention to hospitality and guest experience — especially in tone and follow-through on details — the overall experience could have been much better.”

The restaurant is cute and not too loud compared to others nearby with a party vibe. La Canita is the perfect spot for a romantic night out and the hostesses are not pushy like others down Ocean Bld. “Adam, to avoid the line you can order and pay in ADVANCE (either in person or by phone), then just pick it up from the side counter. It’s already bagged, labeled, and waiting for someone to hand it to you.

You can also go very early to get their delicious bites. Love having them in the neighborhood. If I stop in on the spur of the moment and wait in line, I alway end up chatting with interesting people. They are too good to pass on.”

“The restaurant has a very nice design; the atmosphere feels modern and welcoming. The service was excellent and our waitress did a great job taking care of us.

A couple of things to mention: the portions are very small. The main dishes that cost thirty two to thirty five dollars come with a tiny portion of meat on the plate with no rice or sides. I understand they want to keep a fancy presentation, but for that price the portion should be bigger. The menu does have family size options, but we ordered the individual plates and they were just too small.

The salads and hummus were OK. The food overall was tasty but nothing special for the price. The desserts were the highlight; the baklava was great and the chocolate dessert was really good.

Overall a good restaurant; beautiful place and great service; but the portions are too small and the prices are way too high for what you get. I give it four stars.”
