It came without plastic ware or napkins, nor the drink I ordered (water). The restaurant was pretty empty so this oversight wasn’t due to volume of customers. The food was good and still warm. Tiami was nice and understanding and professional, kudos to her.“

Staff exceeded our high expectations, beginning with the welcome by the maître d' who had been alerted this was our anniversary. When we were escorted to a quiet booth, decorated with confetti and a rose, we knew that we would have a memorable dinner. Jason, our waiter, was exceptionally professional and attentive. Kevin Lee, Managing Partner, went out of his way to personally express congratulations. Dinner was topped off by complementary special dessert. “C.1949 is a fantastic local establishment. The staff is friendly and helpful, makes everyone feel like they belong there. Everyone seems to pick up that neighborly vibe..and the options of beers on tap is great. Always some locals, some new and some unusual but always well brewed and poured up. They have fun events, karaoke and goat yoga are 2 that come to mind. I can’t say enough about how nice it is to have a local, fun, neighborhood watering hole to be able to walk or bike too.“

I arrived early to meet friends and was invited to sit at the bar—something I usually dread since I don’t drink. The bartender approached, and I asked for something non-alcoholic. He suggested a non-alcoholic beer (not my thing), and then I mentioned ginger beer. His eyes lit up—he had one he hadn’t tried before: Bundaberg. What could’ve been an awkward wait turned into this fun, unexpected exchange as we both discovered the drink together. It came in a vintage-style bottle, and he treated it like it was the most interesting cocktail he’d ever poured. That kind of thoughtful hospitality changes everything. When my group arrived, the meal was incredible—rich flavors, creative pairings, and descriptions that made every dish sound like art. The food was phenomenal, but the way the evening felt was even better. As I left, the bartender smiled and said, “I found a case of that Bundaberg in the back—it’ll be here when you come back.” That moment captured the heart of Mise En Place: attention to detail, genuine connection, and simple moments turned extraordinary.“

“This little spritz bar on Davis island is super cute! They are open everyday except for Tuesday’s and happy hour for $6 Spritz is from 4:30-6pm! They are apart of Oggi Italian restaurant right next door, but you can order drinks to go here. They have some outside seating as well!

We tried to normal Amaro spritz, rose, lychee and the Maryl (lavender and limoncello). All were delicious and for $6 you can’t beat it!! They have a small appetizer list you can order off of and we had the charcuterie board. It was $25 plus tax and included gratuity totaling $31. It was good, but the goat cheese with blueberries was one know for sure I got a Publix the other day. Definitely will come back for happy hour Spritz’s!“

I didn't try what I believe is Hawaiian chicken? But it looked good. The drinks were cold and the staff are awesome. All in all it was a fun outing. I love their burgers, but I’m not willing to sit in two hours of traffic driving home from there during rush-hour. Happy hour from 4 to 6 on Monday through Friday doesn’t work unless you live in downtown Tampa.“
