I got the hamburger on rye with onion and I also got extra crispy onion rings and they were extra crispy with sour cream. “Fantastic place we were meeting friends in person that we had known online. Turns out the waitress was the niece of one of the people we were sitting with which was awesome. It had a cheers vibe lots of beautiful wood great space for us to spread out and laugh and cut the fool the food was delicious not a huge menu which was great so they could focus on just making what they had good we really enjoyed it the sweet tea was fantastic the waitress was on point and we were there at lunch time so that really said a lot we didn't have to wait long for our food. Just made you feel real comfortable in the restaurant like you were at home.“

During our last visit, Mike Seekins, the owner and chief, took the time to personally come out and chat with us, even offering a couple of insights into the secrets behind his delicious cheese grits. Of course, he's not spilling the entire recipe, just a tip or two. What adds to the charm of Famous Mike's is not just the fantastic food but the super-friendly staff and the wonderful atmosphere they've cultivated. “I got the Steak Fried Rice. The rice is a bit undercooked to my personal liking, but overall I think it’s good. Flavor is a bit bland, may need some pepper. The broccoli adds a good bit of moisture in each bite, good with the rice. Onions cooked to perfection, as well as the egg, carrots, and peas. I would order again. The portion is good enough for one as a meal, but would probably require some more food if sharing.“

“I went through the drive thru last night and a lady named Tyrel(spell?) took my order and handed me my food. She was by far the most friendly, kind, and helpful fast food worker I’ve ever encountered, and I am a huge Chick-fil-A fan and she way out beat anyone I’d encountered there. When I asked if she could make an Oreo cheesecake milkshake even though it’s not on the menu she was super agreeable and did so. She blessed me and when I complimented her on how friendly she was she was she simply responded that she just treats others the way she would like to be treated. This girl is out here a living example of the golden rule! Give her a raise and a promotion if she wants it, Cook Out! She is a hidden treasure, treat her as such.“

Staff in the morning are always friendly and attentive. Especially the older gentleman (Anthony I think) who does the cleaning and pick up, he’s always working and very kind. “I work on the campus where Edgar's Bistro is located so I can literally call down to place my order and pick it up. That being said, Edgar's has changed a bit since I've been going there. The restaurant is now a student training facility. They are only open seasonally and only for limited hours. In the current quarter, Edgar's is open Wed - Fri, 11am to 2 pm. Also, the menu changes seasonally.This quarter, I have tried roughly 50% of the menu so far and everything has been good. The dine-in service is somewhat slower than calling ahead because everything is cooked to order... but again, they are students and they are learning. I feel it was a good dining experience.“
