“I came here with two of my girlfriends for a very anticipated late night dinner after a long day. We all liked our food— I ordered the vegetable ramen with miso broth, my friend got the spicy pork ramen, and my other friend got the tonkatsu— the portions were good, price was good, and the service was stellar. They played a small game with me at the end after I paid for the check, where I won a bar of soap & I thought that was so cool and a cute way to end the meal!!!! I would definitely come back here again. One of the few places open late on this side of the island as well!“

“I received the Go Miso Ramen on Tuesday. The ramen broth was rich, but didn’t have much depth in taste. I wasn’t sure what the black stuff on top was, but it appeared to be bamboo. The star of this dish was the taste of the ground pork. It tasted similar to wonton ground pork. The egg was slightly under my desired consistency. Overall, this ramen is a good, solid dish even if it’s not what I’d desire to eat on a typical basis for ramen.“

“If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
.
Old school saimin places are just so hard to find and Palace Saimin hits in all the right places. The menu is short selling only saimin, udon, wontons, and beef sticks. Telling by how packed this place is - they're doing something right!
The menu and it's reasonable prices are obviously working so if you're in the area on a cold, rainy day I'd encourage you stop on by!
My favorite menu item is definitely the 4.00 USD beef sticks. Pair it with your complimentary side of hot mustard and your favorite bowl of soup - YUM!
.
Parking and indoor seating space is limited. Service is quick. Staff are friendly. Card and cash accepted.“

“Took a minute to find this place on the 2nd floor in back of the Japanese store. Wife and I both got ramens and were satisfied but not overly impressed. Broth tasted manufactured rather than store-made. I’d eat here again if I was around and hungry, but would go there again specially to eat the ramen.“

“Always come here when we visit Hawaii. It's a very busy place but the staff is friendly and they try to seat you quickly. The cooks also work hard and try to get your food out quickly. The menu variation is awesome and each dish I tried was Onolicious.“

“Really great tan tan men. Competes with Japan and is a fair price for the portion. Dumplings were awesome as well but on the small side which I actually prefer. Cucumbers were also very good and the marinade was 10/10!!
Service was impeccable and the food came out very quick. Put your name on the list on their website since there’s not a ton of seating but people are in and out quick.
The location has parking which was nice. The restaurant itself is exactly what you want from a local ramen spot…homey with good vibes and very comfortable.“

“**Rating: 4.5/5**
**Food:** 5/5
**Ambiance:** 4/5
**Service:** 4/5
We stopped by Onoya Ramen after hiking Diamond Head--and we were *super* hungry, lol. I was craving chicken katsu curry, while my husband and daughter went for ramen.
I can confidently say this is the **best ramen I've had so far in the US**. I actually ended up eating more ramen than my own curry. Even though we ordered the spicy version, my 8-year-old loved it. She said it was spicy and needed water--but still kept saying how *really, really good* it was.
The chicken katsu curry was pretty good, but it tasted more Indian-inspired than Japanese to me. I could pick up hints of Indian spices and coconut, and it reminded me a lot of how curry is made in my hometown. While it was flavorful, I was expecting more traditional Japanese curry flavors with potatoes and carrots, which were missing.
Overall, a great post-hike stop with amazing ramen. We'd definitely come back--especially for the ramen!“

“Parking was a crapshoot. We first tried parking in the recommended garage but there were no spaces left. We ended up parking across the street in the International Market garage. We arrived just before 6 and were able to take advantage of some of the happy hour items. We got the discounted shrimp tempura, California, and dragon rolls. Each was a decent size and flavorful. Slight complaint on the rolls falling apart slightly while trying to pick up. We also got a bowl of the vegan and roasted pork ramen which were HUGE. You could probably feed 3 people with 1 bowl. Extra bowls were brought out for sharing. The service was fast and friendly. Would come back.“

“Inside of the Asian STIX food court I really like this ramen place. My husband and I have gone several times and each time we try something different and it is always sooo good. The staff are really friendly. The wait isn't long at all. We have gone for both lunch and dinner service. I definitely recommend this place.“

“Had a business lunch with our corporate banker. Lucky Belly offered a lunch special which was a good value and tasty. Lots of alcohol drinks to choose from but not a good idea for a work lunch! Enough food to take some home. Service was at a good tempo and attentive. Ideal for a casual lunch or for business. Would recommend.“

“Searched a local mom n pop shop, came across this for a quick bite, loved it, get the combo, you can split rice and ramen and get 4 gyoza on top of it for about $16 bucks. Got very busy after and they were still able to serve and get food out to everyone probably withing 5-7 minutes. Would come back !“

“First off let me say the customer service is the top experience I have had in a very long time! Amazing food! Char siu is so soft and not overly fatty. Prices are amazing as well. Definitely going back when on this side of the island👍🏻“

“A solid ramenya inside the Lanai at the mall. This spot offers a variety of ramen options. Prices are a bit on the higher side but the bowls come in larger portions. I went with the half size spicy tan tan ramen with char siu which was perfect since I wasn’t too hungry. Otherwise the regular size would have been the way to go. The char siu pork was tender with a light chew while the noodles were al dente though thinner than I would have preferred. The real star was the broth which was flavorful, balanced, not overly salty or spicy, and tied the whole dish together beautifully. Seating is limited at the counter but you can always use the Lanai food court area if you prefer.“

“The price to food ratio is honestly the best I've seen on this island and I'm impressed. Even better is the food itself. I expected a ramen place to have okay garlic chicken, but it's 100% worth getting if you ever stop by as it's in my top 3 places for it now.
The ramen is also delicious, and is worth stopping by for after a long day at work. The staff is great too, making sure our water is filled and just being nice in general. I recommend visiting this place at least once if you're near.“

“What a lovely, small, and quaint spot! Every time I crave Japanese food, this place transports me right back to Japan. The food is consistently excellent; it truly never disappoints. My favorite items for a to-go plate are the incredible chicken karaage and the flavorful ginger pork. While I haven't had a chance to dine in yet, I feel confident giving it a strong rating. The staff is always so welcoming and friendly during every takeout experience.“

“Comfort home meals at a reasonable price never seen anywhere in a long time. Looks like prices have not gone up much in a few years. Food is truly taste like a home meal. Enough variety between rice bowls, ramen, sashimi, maki, salads, and a few other item I can't remember from the menu and a few desserts. Only one server. But, very fast and friendly service. A gem 💎. Reservations are recomened as walking for tables fill out fast. Specially during UH games. Or, come in earlier for sitting. Looks like only street parking.“
“I have been here twice; once for breakfast and once for plate lunch. Both were solid meals, good portions and I got out under $15. I had a Portuguese sausage omelet for breakfast and chicken katsu curry for lunch. The picture is half way through the regular size portion. The interior doesn't have a lot of seating but it's clean and air conditioned.. . I highly recommend this Ewa Beach hole in the wall. Plus they cater. Ono-licious.“

“Nicely decorated izakaya at City Market Plaza. We tried its signature lunch omakase with Wagyu beef, veggies, ramen, tofu and veggies. It also came with green tea and a mochi dessert. The meat was very good and veggies were fresh, but the beef based soup was the winner. The service was excellent and friendly. We will come back to try its other dishes. Note: this place is one of the only eateries that closes after lunch period is over and reopens later for dinner.
Update Dec 2025: it’s been a while since we’d dined here. W tried its Kamaaina special , which was chopped up ribeye with rice. It was tasty as other dishes we had here. The service was friendly as before. There’s a $20 AYCE hotpot deal that looked good as well. Maybe next time.“

“Went to Sun Noodle today(Saturday) because my daughter wanted a ramen bar for her Birthday tomorrow. The nice lady upstairs in the office helped me pick out a specific type of noodle from their product catalog after I described what type of noodles my daughter likes and she also explained to me how the numbers of the noodles correspond to the thickness. I got 15 orders ( 3, 5 packs) of freshly made noodles, tonkotsu and tan tan broth to go with it. Ordering was super easy, you go back downstairs to the outside, walk to the right, press the buzzer on the right hand side of the adjoining warehouse, another girl came out with my order, processed my credit card payment and off I went. Fast, simple and very economical. This was my first time going there although we eat ramen everywhere Sun Noodle distributes their noodles. Love their products, will surely go there again to stock up on my daughter's favorite food, Ramen!!!“

“Anytime my mom asked, “Do you wanna go get Ayame ramen?” my answer was always, “Yes! YAY, Ayame!” As a kid, this was the first place I ever had ramen that wasn’t from a cup or a packet, and it made a huge impact on my tastebuds and what I’d be open to trying for the rest of my life.
Their curry and ramen are both incredible. I still remember staring at the fish cake, wondering what it was, but loving the flavor and texture, and thinking the bright pink swirl looked so cool. I even started putting chili oil in my ramen at a young age because of this place, I loved the heat and the flavor.
This place left such a lasting impression on me, and I would love to revisit and experience that nostalgia again, especially with my mom. That’s the heart of what makes a great restaurant, when someone loves their food enough to share it, and it becomes part of your memories together.
Wishing your restaurant many blessings and continued good fortune. I hope the families who come in today get to enjoy the ramen as much as I did, because 20 years later, I still remember that first bowl.“

“Place was clean and the staff friendly and attentive. Fresh made noodles, lots of choices. Portion size could be a bit bigger but I was satisfied. The tofu was really good, crunchy on the outside and creamy in the middle. This place is off the beaten path and you have to make an effort to find it. Pricing is very reasonable considering the place is in downtown Waikiki.“

“I cannot believe it took me over SEVEN years on island to finally eat here—like, how did I miss this?! This spot in Aiea is a total hidden gem and exactly what I’ve been craving ever since my trip to Singapore. It’s similar to mala tang in that you get to pick your own veggies, meats, seafood, etc. to build your soup. The broth options are a little different though—no mouth-numbing mala like you’d find at YGF Mala Tang—but honestly, I didn’t mind one bit.
The spicy pumpkin soup base was perfection: creamy, flavorful, with just the right kick. It didn’t overwhelm my palate or leave me feeling heavy, and it tasted cleaner (less oily) than other broths I’ve tried. If you’re into creamy soups, the pumpkin base is a must-try!
Service was solid too. They refilled my water without me asking and even let me choose my seat (I was the first customer before the evening rush lol). The space was roomy, spotless, and you can tell it’s a true mom-and-pop operation—genuine care for both the food and the customers.
I’m already planning to come back this week because I cannot stop thinking about that pumpkin soup.
Oh, and if soup isn’t your thing (or if Hawaii’s heat has you craving something else), they’ve got chicken katsu with curry, stir fry, and other specialty dishes too.
VISIT. Seriously.“
