“Would have came here for the third time within 5 days if I could! I tried the basil pesto, arugula and shrimp burger. I'd rate them as follows: 9/10, 8.5/10 and 11/10. The basil pesto burger can get soggy if not eaten right away and the arugula burger could have used more balsamic and arugula flavor profile. However, the shrimp burger with wasabi aioli was perfect. It's genuinely the best seafood burger I have ever tried.

Disclaimer: the patties are thick and they are more of an gourmet burger spot, so you will have to wait some time for them to prepare you food. Otherwise, I wish they open a spot in LA at some point!“

I’ll be honest the walk to it looks a little sketchy at first since you head down this small alley, but don’t let that fool you. Once you get back there, it’s a whole different story. “South Shore Grill has been part of my routine for close to 20 years. It’s a family‑run business with a lot of heart, and I’ve watched the owners’ kids grow up working behind the counter. The food is consistently good, the prices are fair, and there’s a great variety to choose from. It’s an easy stop before the beach or park, or the perfect place to refuel after a day in the surf. My go‑to is always the fish burrito. The cajun seasoning and macnut pesto are always on point. Truly one of those local spots that feels like part of the community.“

“Listen. I was here during the storm, sooo many places didn’t have power. There was a huge line. I’m getting poured on. The young man (I swear he was 12 haha!) at the register was having a hey day. The manager (assuming) even came out and was turning customers away to catch up.

“Operating out of a yakiniku restaurant, this place is a gem! Amazing smash burger. I’ve gone three times in the past couple of weeks and each time did not disappoint. I’m a creature of habit so I got the Double OG3 Deluxe and OG3 Fries. One friend got the Waygu, one the plain cheeseburger, and another the same as me and all loved it. Fries are nice and crispy with the special OG3 sauce. Reminiscent of In-n-out animal style fries, but fries are crinkle cut and much better than In-n-out. Highly recommend if you like a good smash burger!“

“My go to is the Onion Royal (Royal Burger with no Tomato), fries and a drink. They are in the same neighborhood as my shop (in Kaimuki) so I get to go way more often than before but I still have to drive there so it is usually a once a week special treat for myself and the crew. Pro tip: try their desserts. Co-owner Joy is a former pastry chef from 3660 on the Rise so their selection of sweets are LEGIT! Don't forget the Green River drink for a hit of nostalgia. 💚“

He was so adamant that I had to get something from this smash burger truck. I grabbed a double smash burger with grilled onions and a mango lemonade.

Everything was bussing. Especially for the price… you can’t beat it.

I definitely recommend everyone to try it yourself. The bun was grilled, the patty was well seasoned and the bacon bits that were on there definitely made this burger a 9.5/10.

Edited : 8/3/26. I stopped by for ur reopening with ur new truck. I’ll miss seeing the small rainbow 🌈 truck since I live close by but I’m really happy for the success of this family business. “Recommended by a local - came here for a fried chicken fix and was not disappointed! Signature whole fried chicken was excellent - crunchy and juicy, and especially good with the chilli spice powder dip. Fries come with - but are a bit soggy, so good if you really need to fill up!

It can be confusing as the place seems to also be known for mala-tang chinese soup noodles - which looked and smelled amazing too! Lots of people here for the mala-tang as well.

“I stopped by Teddy’s Bigger Burgers recently because I was craving something easy but substantial. “Originally recommended to me by my former boss, Island Sub is a classic, no-nonsense spot. I have to confess: in my opinion, they have the absolute best onion rings in Hawaii. They don't make them from scratch—they are pre-cooked, frozen, and shipped—but whatever they do in the kitchen to fry them makes them unbeatable. Hands down, the best.

While I've tried a few different items over the years, my absolute go-to is the Meatball Sub. I usually order the half size, but this time I treated myself to the full. It’s a beautifully simple combination of tomato sauce, melted cheese, and meatballs, and I’ve never had a single complaint about it.

It’s a wonderful family-owned business where the husband holds down the kitchen and the wife manages the front of the house. They’ve been running it this way since well before COVID. The restaurant itself hasn't changed at all in the ten years I've been visiting, even though the surrounding strip mall has undergone some modern renovations. The interior does look a little run-down and dated, but that's alright—I usually take my food back to the office rather than dining in anyway.

“Hard Rock Cafe Honolulu was such a great experience! We came here for my mum and dad’s birthday dinner and the staff made the night feel so special 🥰

They sang for their birthdays and genuinely treated us like family. The service and atmosphere were fantastic and made the whole celebration so memorable.

They also have a great selection of souvenirs and merchandise — definitely worth having a look before you leave! 🎸

“The food was so good! Ok, there's no indoor dining and the outdoor dining is really rough but during our meal there the locals seemed to love it and for good reason. This is what I imagine authentic Hawaiian BBQ for the working man is like. When you go to a BBQ place and see the orange construction either shirts, is probably going to be good and it was. The girl at the register recommend the beef short ribs and they were amazing. My wife had the teriyaki chicken and it had amazing flavor, though a bit overcooked, I still finished it if for her gladly. My only warning: one dish is plenty for two hungry people! We were getting ready to head to the airport and didn't want any to go to waste, so we have half to a mother with four teenage boys. They were 😊. Definitely will return next time we visit the island.“

“Going to Jane's Fountain felt like I traveled back in time to one of those old school diner places. On that day, I had the Hamburger Steak. It is one of the best on the island. My only complaint was that there was only one hamburger patty. I would definitely pay extra for the 2nd patty.“

“Saw the positive reviews and had to try it out. To be honest, the name made me imagine a burger with a rice cake patty, which I didn’t think sounded good. But I was wrong (clearly I’m not Korean!)

In reality, the “burger” is just the filling of your choice sandwiched between two rice balls instead of bread. I believe this is called jumeokbap in Korea and nigori in Japan, but not 100% sure.

Either way, I was totally impressed! The kimchi bulgogi was straight up delicious and the rice was some of the best I’ve ever had. Pictures do not do it justice!

Personally I’d love less rice and more meat, but the price was fair. I’m really curious about the macros on this thing too, but it sure tasted good and I’ll be back.
