“I was visiting Honolulu from Wisconsin, and this food truck ended up being one of the best surprises of the whole trip. I’ll be honest the walk to it looks a little sketchy at first since you head down this small alley, but don’t let that fool you. Once you get back there, it’s a whole different story. The customer service was awesome super friendly, super welcoming. And the food? Straight-up 10/10. The loaded barbecue fries were insane, packed with flavor and totally worth every bite. The burgers were just as amazing, juicy and cooked perfectly. Everything we tried was out of this world. If you’re in Honolulu, don’t sleep on this place. I’d come back in a heartbeat.“

I don’t think I would get the Hal burger again. The steak was pretty dry and didn’t mesh as well with the burger as I thought it would. I also got their OG deluxe burger and that was significantly better. If I were to do it again, I’d order it without lettuce and tomato and do extra onions!

“Been here for breakfast couple times... was actually good... so good I went back... today I went back for lunch. I ordered 2 plates, short ribs and garlic shrimp. I am a pretty good cook and like that when people prepare food good as well. The place a hole in the wall... no frills the service!!! Real good... the food. Hmmm. Let me tell you the plates were off the hook!! The short ribs great taste flavor soo good cook just the way I like it... Garlic Shrimp... o rank it up there as one of the best I ever ate. Actually better then the way I cook it. The mac salad... really completes the meal.... As Arnold said.... “I’ll be baaaak”“

“I took my grandkids here and it was good as usual. I never thought of writing a review until I observed a young man who works at this Teddy's location work extra hard. He was so meticulous when cleaning the counters, soda machine area, and windows. When our food was ready he was very polite and courteous. He was a great example for my grandkids and I know this young man will go far in life (I just wish I got his name)!“

“Was craving a late night bite and stumbled on this smash burger food stand and wowow one of the best burgers I’ve ever had! (I’ve had everything from McDonalds, In and Out, Five Guys, Shake Shack, Dick’s Burgers, you name it!)

“The absolute best thing I've tried since coming to the island. Service was great over the top best in class. The burger. . . I'm without the words for how good it was. I ordered it cooked medium and Waikiki style (that's bacon, cheddar,BBQ,and a hash brown, LTO.) It hit on all points what you want for a burger. Great char, correct temp, sloppy as all hell. To top it off the guy at the counter gave customer service that is rarely seen these days with the all the fixins in the bag automatically. I'm looking for the napkins, and found wet naps!!! They knocked it out of the park 110%. I give it 12/10“

“This place is way better and cheaper than McDonald's. I really like their avocado bacon cheeseburger it’s made with a delicious sweet bun. I like that you get super fresh avocado and fresh lettuce on it- it’s crazy that other places don’t even put lettuce on their burgers anymore! I think because they also do salads they always have great fresh lettuce. The fries here are large and they are piping hot, crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside and delicious. You can also choose onion rings. I’ve tried their salads too and they’re good, and healthy.

I think it's good to support local and the owner is really nice, ordering is fast. there's tons of seating indoors or outdoors and the new marketplace is so pretty under the big trees. Definitely come here if you're looking for affordable good burgers!“

“We got takeout here. I got fish and chips and my boyfriend got the garlic shrimp. We got takeout to take with us on the beach to watch the fireworks on Friday night. It was amazing. They were really fresh, highlight for me was the fish and chips. They gave French fries but also sweet potato fries, which was an amazing touch.

Not sure about dining in… It is in an alleyway, so not the best views, but the workers looked like they kept everything clean, service was quick… And everyone was extremely extremely friendly. May try again, but dine in next time that we are around.“

“High quality and tasty food in a super local hole in the wall.

Menu had tons of good looking stuff, so I went with the first combo meal. Their teri beef is very tender, and the hamburger steak was great! But the standout for me was the chili, very unique and satisfying flavor. My friend had the steak and garlic shrimp, and both were cooked perfectly and incredibly delicious.

So much good looking stuff on the menu, I'll definitely be back to try more.“

I know the light is dim for the ambiance, but it could be lit just a notch more or have lights on the table. “I am from San Diego, California here visiting and this is by far the best hamburger spot I’ve ever been to!!! First time trying it I had to come back an hour later for another one!! I had it again also for dinner tonight!! The meat quality is top quality!! I had the double smash burger. It was amazing not are the burgers amazing but the homemade fresh lemonade was 5stars as well. If you’re looking for a hamburger you found the right spot!! #1 in all Hawaii+ better then any California burger!!!“

“Some of the nicest dudes I've ever met-- everyone greeted me when I walked in and we all made small talk while I waited for the order. One of the guys offered me a sample of an excellent coffee blend he'd put together; I'd definitely recommend a cup if you're looking for a nice pick-me-up after dinner, as it's clear he's no amateur to the craft. He also gave me some advice on making a good batch of cold brew at home, which I always appreciate.

Food was made to order really fast: I don't remember exactly how long since we were chatting, but maybe five minutes? Deluxe burger was outstanding and made with fresh ingredients, without any frilly extraneous stuff: bun, thick beef patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion (your choice of cooked or raw on that last one). Condiment table is there if you want to add anything to your food, but I thought it was excellent as-is and didn't need anything. The waffle dog is a nostalgic and quintessential classic that was delicious, and that banana ono ono shake! You get a spoon, not a straw, and it's obvious why-- this thing was ridiculously thick and rich and smooth and the highlight of my order. I'm gonna try to go back tomorrow to get a chocolate shake next.

Combined with the fact that this is extremely reasonably priced food in the city, don't overthink it-- If they're open and you're nearby, just go and support these guys! You'll get a cheap and great meal out of it.

“The burger was good but the meat was kind of thin, and the fries were too thin for what you pay for. It is overpriced but I would go back as the food is good. There isn't much seating, especially when it is Saturday at lunch hour, it took us longer to find a seat to eat than it did to wait for my food.“

“They open late, even on Sunday nights, and close at midnight, which is amazing for late-night eats in Waikiki. It is directly across from the Alohilani Hotel and operates out of a food truck, kind of like a permanent food truck. The most popular item is the Pineapple Teriyaki burger $25. “Came here for breakfast and ordered a bowl of wonton saimin. The broth was light and comforting, while the noodles were pleasantly chewy. I enjoyed the wontons, which were perfect “one-biters,” well-seasoned, and delicious. Service was friendly and engaging. The place has history and has been around for a long time, making it fun to visit and see locals enjoying their meals. Parking can be difficult, but it is worth it for the food. Also, it's cash only so leave the cc tuck away.“

“I have been shopping there for many years and love the selection of vendors that are there. We can almost always find what we are looking for including gifts from local artists and made quite a few friends with some of the vendors. There is something for everyone. Also I recently became a vendor myself.“

The only thing I might change is to have closed captions on the monitors because it was hard sometimes to hear what was going on in the Super Bowl. The crowd got a little feisty.“

Their small kitchen limits the menu choices, but what they offer is tasty and reasonably priced. The pleasant customer-oriented staff has made it serve as a home away from home for us, and we have always felt welcomed. If/when they leave, they will be sorely missed.“
