“My girlfriend has lived on island for 20 years and has always wanted to try the Canoe House so we took her for her birthday. And it did not disappoint!

Let’s be clear, we’re all here for the view….. and it lives up to the hype.
Its spectacular 🙌 But the real surprise was the food with lots of vegan options

We had 3 vegans and basically ordered every vegan item on the menu. Every dish was delicious (with the exception of the seasonal cabbage entree-which the waiter had removed from our bill-thank you). As vegans we loved so many options. Great job! They also brought some vegan desserts to round out the birthday celebrations.

We appreciated the delicious food along with the attentive service from the hostess, waiter, food runners and manager. Mahalo“

“On the beach at the Mauna Kea resort. The restaurant will validate your parking and you can go hang out on the beach afterwards or order take out while you’re on the beach. We got the poke, cesar salad with mahi, and a burger. All of it solid - but pricey, but you know that at a resort. Service is great and you can’t beat the view. Try the frederico which is a Mai tai with whiskey in it.

Overall not bad for above average beach food - just pricey. Would recommend for convenience if you’re going to hang out at the Mauna Kea beach.“

“Totally awesome authentic burger place. My only regret was not ordering another burger. My sister had the Surf Burger and I had the Hi-Heat. On the drive back to our hotel, we just randomly kept saying what a great burger those were. Honestly surprised we didn’t turn around and go back for more.“

“Amazing meal out by the ocean at Browns. We had the poisson cru appetizer (raw fish) and ono fish special with asparagus, potatoes, and hamakua mushrooms. The food was fantastic. We had a reasonably priced bottle of Craggy Bay sauvignon blanc. Only downside was the downpour of rain just as we finished our main course. Very rare to have it rain that hard on this side of Hawaii Island. The staff was amazing at getting everyone out of the rain and reseated in dry areas. There was no shortage of pool towels to dry us off. The poor folks at the Luau missed the dancing. We will be back. Mahalo.“

“We had an absolutely amazing dinner at Meridia in the Westin Hotel, Kona! Chef Soto’s creations were simply outstanding, and the miso-crusted cauliflower was the best vegetable dish we’ve ever had. Simple, perfect, and beautifully prepared. The vegetables were sourced from the chef’s on-site garden, adding a special touch. The cocktails were creative and refreshing, making it one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a very long time. A truly memorable evening!“

I love my KonaVille Hot sandwich as a vegetarian. The maiitake mushroom paired with their special sauce and topping in this sandwich is just unbelievably delicious!!

My husband had the Grilled Shrimp Ceviche, which is a great recommendation by our server since he is not that hungry. And our server was right, the special local tomato in this dish made someone like my husband that doesn't like tomatoes chow down the whole thing!

And I'm being super serious-- DO NOT SKIP THE UBE BROWIE SUNDAE! It is mind-blowingly goooodddd!!! First of all, it is not too sweet (from a Chinese person🧏🏻‍♀️). This halo-halo inspired sundae, packed with unique and flavorful topping, plus the infamous Ube brownie, yummmm!!!

We had a very friendly and helpful server who taking care of us! She gave us great recommendations on the menu.
