“A light evening at this relative central location. Great sushi pleasant store , very colorful but chill, one thing I didn’t expect was the floor was a little slippery , but looked clean may just be the type of tiles used or my shoe . Staff was pleasant and welcoming. Love the anime’s/gaming theme to store and names for the type of rolls, you could tell it was thought through and deliberate. Time between order and receiving the meal was quick …. I loved the Mario roll and crab Rangoons were more ish (would go back for this) .

Ultimately a Great experience and left comfortably full but not stuffed worth the spend??

Parking: It really depends on on time you go but the seemed to have a bunch of street paid parking relatively easy to access“

“I absolutely love Lawrence Fish Market! I’ve ordered from them many times and they never disappoint. The sushi is always fresh and delicious, with amazing flavor and great quality. The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable—especially considering how much food you get. It’s perfect for takeout, and everything is always beautifully packed and ready to enjoy. I highly recommend this place to any sushi lover. Definitely one of my favorite spots!“

I had an amazing experience at this sushi restaurant! The waitresses were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Their warm hospitality truly enhanced our dining experience.

The food was outstanding—the soup was rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious, making for a perfect start to the meal. I also tried the avocado roll, which was exceptionally fresh and of the highest quality. The avocado was perfectly ripe and creamy, complementing the sushi beautifully.

Overall, this restaurant delivers both excellent service and top-notch sushi. I will definitely be returning. Highly recommend!“

“I’ve been here twice for lunch and dinner. Both times the fish was perfect. Nigiri and Sashimi that is top of its class (fresh, large portions, perfectly prepared). This is one of the best sushi spots in Chicago and the prices are more reasonable than everywhere else (local or in the city). The Nigiri/Sashimi lunch is only $16 and very large. I had 12 different cuts of fish for dinner. I will definitely be back. Great food, great service, well done! Highly recommended.“

“Best Sushi Restaurant on the planet. Not only was all the food superior than any other Sushi restaurant I've been to. My family and I had a feast.(I mean all the food was good). Very reasonable prices as well. The most astonishing fact about this restaurant was the host (Quam) his amazing knowledge of food and customer service was unlike any other. The Ice cream desert was mind blowing. You don't have to take my word for it, but I guarantee you, you won't find another Sushi restaurant in the city of Chicago as good this one. The ambiance of this establishment is very warm and pleasant. I highly recommend this place for family gatherings, and with people you want to share a special food feast with. “This is a review for Ekiben Catering!

I really wanted to have Japanese food (specifically Onigiri) for a Studio Ghibli-themed baby shower, and reached out to several local restaurants. Ekiben was by far the most responsive and fairly priced!

Shasha was lovely and helped explain the prices and option recommendations. We opted to have the food delivered, and it was delivered exactly on time. Thank you so much! Everyone loved the food!“

“I’ve come here a few times now since they opened and I can confidently say it’s some of the best Japanese food I’ve ever had. There takoyaki especially is the best in the city, probably in the Chicago area in general. I’ve had both their spicy tonkatsu ramen and black garlic ramen and the black garlic is my favorite of the two but they’re both very good. My wife tried their lunch special recently and was a huge fan. I’m hoping to come here for years to come so do yourself a favor and give them a try.“

“Decently priced new omakase in town. The nigiri was well paced and appreciated the attentive waiter providing insight on the selection and order. Bar service ran slow. Water service was timely. I’m not always a big proponent of any special treatment but I think if you write both honeymoon AND birthday on the reservation there should probably be a little something to make the occasion, especially if they plop a QR code in front of you at the end to ask you for a review. Left a sour and disappointing note to the night, not sure who missed that but something to be aware of if people are coming to spend hard earned money to mark a special occasion. We ended up going down the street to Chef’s Special for a little more hospitality in that regard and got a candle in our dessert and some comped cookies. A little goes a long way!“

We went back for the first time in years a few weeks ago and were absolutely delighted by everything. “If you want to feel like family, with exceptional service, the best rolls that are easy to modify to your liking this is the spot. This has been our favorite neighborhood sushi spot for years. They call us my name, we get hugs and updates on life every time we come in. The staff remembers our favorite orders, the quality of the food is also so fresh and we can’t wait to come back the next time. The spot was accommodating to being gluten free and dairy free, bringing gf soy sauce and ensuring I didn’t order anything tempura, and making subs for rolls with cream cheese. This spot is BYOB and they have everything you need to enjoy an adult beverage. There’s a corner store right around the corner is you forgot to bring something from home. Overall such a great experience every time and I hope this restaurant continues to thrive!“

Wheelchair accessibility: The two sets of doors into the restaurant are not automatic, but the restaurant is very wheelchair accessible otherwise, and parking in the garage below, you're able to take an elevator up easily.“

“This was a wildly delicious meal. Inventive but also traditional. The food itself was the star, but every other aspect of the meal was also great. It felt like a dinner party at friend’s house. The atmosphere was convivial with the chef explaining the food and answering questions from the diners with everyone in the room being able to hear. The single waiter, Jose, was also a delight. I would return here in a heartbeat despite the price tag.“

I especially loved the hand rolls because they were huge and so fresh. There are so many options for specialty rolls, maki, poke, and vegetarian options as well. I also tried the mochi for dessert and it was so good. Whenever I crave quick sushi I think of this place. My must haves are mussels and volcano roll but of course I always order another roll accompanied by miso soup. Sometimes if there is space and you want something sweet you should try mango maki.“
