However, I came in on July 30th, 2026, only to notice that their summer menu was in full swing. On the menu there was a “Funky Monkey” available. Enticing for sure, but how could I forfeit the opportunity to once again indulge in the “Dirty Hippie.” I mulled my options, verbalizing this dilemma with my bestest friend and the barista on staff. She noted that the banana syrup, exclusive to the “Funky Monkey,” could be added to the “Dirty Hippie.” I knew what had to be done. It was in that moment the “Funky Hippie” was born. My only regret is that I drank all of mine. Perhaps what we want most is what we had and lost. Go to Tala. Experience the “Funky Hippie.” You might ask why I would be willing to share this secret recipe with you all. It is my mission to spread that which is good in this world. I stopped in for a simple black coffee once and it was great. It is very modern on the inside and the coffee is expensive for what I got, but good staff and short wait time. The study area has a good view of the road so you can take a short break from your work and enjoy the atmosphere.“

“Love having a Starbucks in Lake Forest. So convenient. Also love some of the workers there. Daniel and Jay to name a couple. I just wish they would get the free refill program correct for gold card members. I get the snarky face from the manager and a couple others when asking for my free refill. They keep telling me I need to buy a regular coffee to get a refill when in fact Starbucks web site says get a free refill regardless of the original beverage.“

“I stop here a couple times a week. I order whatever seasonal cold brew they have at that time, and I’ve noticed some inconsistency in the quality of the drink, entirely depending on who’s working that specific day.

Some days, it’s literally the best coffee I’ve ever had in my life. Other days, it tastes like coffee that sat in melted ice, then poured over more ice and handed out the window. For the price, consistency should be 🔒.

Otherwise, this place is amazing. Great staff, extremely quick and don’t have you sitting for 20 minutes like a Starbucks. I also enjoy the larger sizes most places don’t offer! Flavor concepts for the drinks are always great, too!

He was so proud to have designed a donut (which was actually just the cookies and cream option from the menu) but he watched them make it and decorate it and then showed it to everyone he passed. He said they were the BEST donuts he’s ever had! I had the cold brew with sweet cream which was solid.“

I’m assuming there was a misunderstanding but it felt as if we were being singled out. Other then that it was Great.“

“Delicious boba tea! I had the Coconut milk tea with boba and my husband had the mango fruit with boba. This was our first time here! It was busy when we walked in with lines for those wanting to get there bubble / boba tea. There was a great menu of options to choose from and a nice sitting area to relax, and enjoy the drinks. Staff were quick and busy filling in the orders that were coming in. This is located in Chinatown near the Chinatown square. Great spot and delicious boba teas! We will definitely come back when we visit this area again!“

I came today and explained an issue yesterday and although I was understandably upset, I didn’t make a huge fuss about it because I visit this location often. I explained the situation to Laura, and she took it upon herself to make sure the issue was rectified. What I really appreciate is that she went out of her way to make things right even though she wasn’t even working at the time the issue happened. That really showed me that she genuinely cared about my experience as a customer. “I've been here three times in the past year and have been wowed each time. The employees are always nice and accommodating. The food is perfect each time, the bathrooms and restaurant itself are very clean, and the space is welcoming! That's saying a lot from someone who worked in a lot of restaurants over the years and can easily spot issues. Bagels are chewy, thaw nicely after being in my freezer for a bit, and make excellent sandwiches. Thank you for the Windex and cleaning up my water bottle catastrophe ;)“

“What a positive experience I had at the Lake Bluff Starbucks. I went for a 30 minute coffee to check my emails, and was so pleasantly surprised when the barista asked if I wanted a ceramic mug for my coffee. She even offered to bring it to my table. When she brought it, she mentioned they offer a free refill. Then, another barista came around with a free sample of one of their ice coffees. What a very pleasant experience. Thank you, Starbucks!“

“5+1?This small out-of-the-way Starbucks (located inside Target) is really a diamond in the rough, if you consider Starbucks a diamond, LOL. They make the store on Grand and Green Bay look pathetic. The young man working behind the counter, his name is Felipe, is extremely articulate and knowledgeable, about Starbucks offerings, unlike the other store. I came in for the Medicine Ball, that is a stress relieving, stomach settling concoction that Starbucks has come up with. It's not on the menu but if you're stressed or just not feeling well, this is the thing to get. See Felipe, he's a nice young man and working his way through school. He is very attentive and always smiling. As a matter of fact I'm going to give them an extra star because he's such an excellent hire for them, he should be in management.??“

“Not normally a big Starbucks fan, but just had one of the best experiences at a Starbucks ever. I got an Iced Pumpkin Chai and a Spinach, Feta and Egg white wrap. The delicious food was the least wonderful part of my experience. The baristas were all exceptionally kind and generous, bringing us iced water without asking and being very welcoming to us. I stayed there for a bit to work and wait for a different appointment, and it was the exact environment I needed to start my day off well!“
